topher1078 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Seriously, why can't google just make it an open beta? Or at least allow signups or something - most of their features (froogle, etc) are public before they are finished and finalized.
TDavid Share Posted April 29, 2004 Seriously, why can't google just make it an open beta? Or at least allow signups or something - most of their features (froogle, etc) are public before they are finished and finalized. Probably because they are load balancing also and to just allow a bunch of people into the service at one time isn't the best way to ramp up to load. Secondly, they can get more free PR from folks by limiting the list of "special" people who get to beta test. They kind of slapped the faces of long time blogger users by only inviting those who were "active" and not saying what that criteria was. Some folks have had accounts for years and weren't invited because they weren't active enough apparently. They should have opened it up for anybody with a blogspot account prior to a certain date. My guess is within the next 30-60 days a wider net will be thrown for invites.

tlogank Share Posted April 29, 2004 man, $45 is too much for someone that it is costing nothing to distribute. Stop acting like the RIAA and just take $10-$20, it is still a profit for doing nothing. (there goes my oppurtunity @ an invitation)
FiREFLi Share Posted April 29, 2004 (edited) ok, so maybe ?25 ($45) was unreasonable... but theyve gone for $100 on ebay. how would anyone get money to me? Edited April 29, 2004 by fr3ak
