google give out invites to testers when they are ready to allow more ppl to join. So that 4mb, 48hours of activations thing is not true

well i just got a gmail account and i was wonder where exactly do i look to see if i have any invites. I know that i probably don't have any but i would like to know for future reference. It would be nice is somone could also post a screenshot and even refer back to a screenshot that someone else has posted before.

fyi ... if you have a blogger account at blogger.com, you get the offer on the front page after signing in... (shown in screenie below)

if everyone wants one so bad, why not sign up for a blogger account to see if you can join gmail right away?

Only existing members of blogger got invites to join GMail i thought, not if you join now.

Spyder, That won't work any more. New account holders of blogger don't have that option. Why new, infact even old bloggers whose accounts have been inactive didn't get it.

Hardice, Coming to the location of the link to the 2 invites, I saw it below the Labels in one screenshot. Look for a thread titled 'Gmail invite'. I think the very 1st post has the screenie you want.

Edit: Just saw in a orkut post the following:

it's been moved back towards the top. it's a red link right under the search buttons.

I looked in the gmail invite thread and the picture doesn't appear to be there any more. If so one could repost it please it could me the difference between someone getting a gmail invite or not.
