can anyone help me get networking to work so I can access the net?

I have installed the win tap 32 network thing and windows detects a connection when osx starts, but the card is always assigned a 169 ip address. I have followed the earlier advice and it still getting the same IP, if i assign things manually i still cannot access the net. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Guys, I have to say, PearPC .2 by the original author is really great. Amazing speed increase. And with me having a low end processor I can finally go below 100 redraws and still keep great performance. I suggest you all try it out.

And I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I can't be bothered reading through 184 pages to find the answer. But I'm using 10.3.4 and whenever I try to turn on the rtl network driver for the Tap32 method and load up the config it gives me the error:

unknown identifier 'pci_rtl8139' in line 110

I looked this up on emaculation forums and people were saying to use a different version of PPC, but it still showed up in all the versions I tried...

I got the new ppc.pre03.SDL.win32newclock build off of Richard Goodwin's site and a SDL dll from somewhere on this thread, but I can't seem to get PearPC to run anymore.

If i try to run it, i don't get any error, it just doesn't pop up the normal window.

also, could someone post a link to the tap driver I need, I need to reinstall it and forgot where I found it.

here is my config:

ppc_start_resolution = 8
redraw_interval_msec = 20
prom_driver_graphic = "video.x"
prom_bootmethod = "select"
prom_env_bootargs = ""
prom_env_machargs = ""

pci_ide0_master_installed = 0
pci_ide0_master_image = ""

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/installmacos.html

Step 4.

Either you can use the Disk Utility or Darwin.

Btw, Klop, I believe that fixed the networking problem, I did manage to start up PearPC fully this time, but still am too busy to let it load OSX. Thanks again.

And thanks Klop, that fixed the unknown error, but right now I'm too busy to test further.

thanks

actually, installing the tap fixed the problem.....

Is there anything I should change in my config to make the animations run smoother? I noticed I had to change the screen setting to 4 instead of 8. what are the new resolution numbers now?

ppc_start_resolution = 4
redraw_interval_msec = 20
prom_driver_graphic = "video.x"
prom_bootmethod = "select"

someone help me! got a Network problem. My DOS says this

[iO/3c90x] indicate(00000010) mIntStatus now = 00000000

[iO/3c90x] acknowledge(00000010) mIntStatus now = 00000000

[iO/3c90x] EthTun: 250 bytes received. But they don't pass the filter.

[iO/3c90x] Not uploading, because: mUpStalled(=0) or UpListPtr == 0 (=00000000)

or not mRxPacketSize(=0)

I have it configure right i think. My XP show a connection (when i exit it says it dropped it) But i can't recognize it in OS X. Looks like the underneath is seening it but the OS isn't

You should try getting the official PearPC .2.

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

And for .2, only these are showed in the config.

0: 640x480x15

1: 640x480x32

2: 800x600x15

3: 800x600x32

4: 1024x768x15

5: 1024x768x32

I use 1024x768x32 and it runs pretty good. The only other one I know if is 8 which is a widescreen type resolution.

Sorry if this sound stupid but how would I get the networking and internet to work in pearpc .3. I read that all you have to do is remove the bridge. I have no clue on how to do this. Can anyone help me step by step.

Thanks in advance

I'm having weirdo problems getting the networking to work how I want it on the new SDL patched build. Networking works when I use ICS, but when I bridge my two adapters, the PearPC can't get an IP address from my LAN's DHCP Server. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card a million times...

Anyone know whats going on?

    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep. Songs of Conquest is a turn-based 4X strategy game where you'll be managing a kingdom, making tough decisions, and taking down enemy forces in tactical combat. Meanwhile, Rogue Waters is a roguelike where, as a pirate captain, you command a ship and crew through procedurally generated encounters. The double giveaway is coming to an end on June 11. On the same day, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks will join in as the next freebie. Another Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing a refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The June selection is Octopath Traveler 2, The Riftbreaker, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, INDIKA, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Construction Simulator, Hell Clock, and Overlooting to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on July 6, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. The Humble Store also brought in standard gaming collections this week. The IGN Live Bundle kicked things off with games like Control, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blair Witch, Rollerdrome, and The Last Campfire for $10. At the same time, the We Will Always be Here bundle carried in titles like Bad End Theater, Thirsty Suitors, Vampire Therapist, and Tavern Talk for $12. Next, the 2K Sports Champions Bundle comes touting games like NBA 2K26, PGA TOUR 2K25, OlliOlli World Rad Edition, and TopSpin 2K25 with a hefty $25 price tag.
