has anyone tried out .2 yet? if so, what's the performance like?

I just tried it and am somewhat disappointed. The clock patch doesn't seem to be in it and it was actually slower than some of the nightly builds, especially the new SDL build.

Just my $.02 anyway.

just keep in mind that the nightly builds for around a week now have been from the 0.3pre trunk. this 0.2 release was a late release.

also, the sdl builds aren't official. the releases won't be as fast as the sdl ones (since they dont share the same drawing code). also the latest sdl builds have somewhat been taken off of an almost 0.3pre trunk. and the sdl code probably won't be merged with the main trunk.

The clock patch wasnt supposed to be in 0.2 it will be in 0.3 take a look in the changelog.

Thats why im using nightly builds right now.

yeah, the .3 sdl versions are much better than this...the only thing better in this version is the ability to change resolution on the fly...can any tell me why none of the pearpc build will let me go to 1024x768 resolution full screen...i can do it with 800x600, but not with 1024x768 and it's incredibly annoying? i have a 15' flat panel that's sets to 1024x768 in native win xp and i have nvidia desktop manager activated, could that be it?! SOMEONE HELP!

Depends on how you define "best." I assume you want the fastest and prettiest version. I would get the 0.3 SDL from http://www.richardgoodwin.com/pearpc . Also, don't forget to remove the bridge in your XP networking, and re-enable Internet Connection Sharing on your primary connection.

Does anyone know where the "Bong" sound is? It's got to be buried inside a system file somewhere. Or is it only embedded in the BIOS? I'd like a link to it, please.

Also, some of the shortcuts don't quite work. I have a hard time force-quitting on this computer. It would be nice if the developers could lock the keyboard somehow so that Alt-Esc and others like it would not cause Windows to react. I would like to use the Alt-Tab feature in panther but cannot because Windows takes precedence.

I suppose the answer to that last one is, "buy a real mac!" :p

To use "alt + esc" press F11 then press alt, let go, then esc. Then press F11 again.

Having a problem installing MacOSX here, first time using PearPC, I think I have all setting right but it just hangs here in the installer with no further progress. I took a screenshot of the log and attached it below, anyone know what the problem is or any suggestions?

In my opinion you're best off going here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=167708

follow this guide then download the 0.3sdl build. rename it ppc.exe and replace the old ppc in your pearpc folder. you also must download the sdl.dll from here: http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.7-win32.zip

just drop it into your pearpc folder.
