i love the program. good to hear about it. one thing i think you need to implement is the "detail" forecast that weather.com has. thats the only reason i use weatherbug :bleh: i like to see the percentage of rain there might be and what not.

ps. i like the transition animations. quite cool

It does show you the precipitation chance if you have one row of forecast tabs. I will see what I can do.

one little adjustment...

in the tray if we choose the icon to show the current temperature, we may be able to assign a range of "cold" temperatures that would be shown in blue and a range of "hot" temperatures that would be shown in red...

this is just a little add-in that could be considered...

That sounds like a good idea; I'll use the temperature range in the alert options and the functionality will be linked to having alerts enabled. I think, though, I'll use white text with a red or blue background, to avoid issues with contrast between the text and the tray itself.

Also, 2.2 will support the large font windows DPI setting.

2.2 RC1 has been released. You can use the automatic updates feature to get it, or do so from the first page of the thread. The above suggestion has also been implemented.

cool...but the foreground color changer doesnt work as does the transparent button changer doesnt work for me...it always stays red no matter what color i change it and it never goes transparent even though it saves the settings.

Question: When updating why does the new version save the executable in my Documents and Settings/User folder? I had setup a nice directory for it in Program Files and it was running out of that but when i updated it always sticks the new executable in the Documents and Settings folder. :(

as always though its an excellent program and keep up the good work.

The alerts, as mentioned above, will override your choice of color; I suspect that's it. I will make that fact more obvious, probably by mentioning as much in the GUI to change them.

As for the updates, it's supposed to update to the same directory as it is already running in, but it seems that isn't the case. It has always worked for me, but it appears that is sheer luck. I will fix that too.

As for localizing the program, as was suggested a while back: I have decided against investing the time to do so. My reasoning is that since weather.com has limited data for outside the US, it really does not seem worth it to me to make it localizable at this time, since it would be a relatively significant undertaking. I will keep it in mind though, perhaps as a future thing to do. The other problem is that stuff provided by weather.com is not localizable, such as the condition texts and the weather.com links, and soon, the detailed forecast (which I will definitely put in, I just have to find out where to squeeze it). The latter isn't even available in Celsius, but I will try to convert it on the fly; I cannot guarantee my success though.

Ha! I reverse engineered the XML feed from their POS program to figure out how my program can get the info for the hour by hour also. I will add the detailed info in soon.

maybe if you just create a new view... then you can assign this view to detailed forecast... ;)

just my 2 cents... :whistle:

oh and I can't update to 2.2RC1 I'm still on 2.1.9.1 ... don't real know what's goin' on... :pinch:

Some Enhacements:

Add the Version Number to the TopBar of the app;

Icon in tray should be red if above a specific temperature and blue below that temperature; (I'm not sure if the app already have this...);

when I swap locations if the Radar/Satellite Map is the same I don't think that it should change (it takes a bit of CPU usage...)

hmm unfortunatley i seem to still have the problem where if it sits for a long time the program throws an error that you cant see because it makes the output corrupted, if i right click on the program in my taskbar (not the tray) the menu options are also blank.

I don't really know why I would do that, perhaps you can explain to me why.

It does.

I do plan on caching the radar so that it doesn't have to download it so often.

Argh. These idiotic framework problems that only happen after a long time will be the death of me. Worst case, I'm going to have to have the program restart itself every x number of hours. Grr.

It seems that I will be able to display the "real" weather alerts too now; I found one in the XML feed now for tropical storm Alex, so now I know what to look for. I will add that feature in too.

At the moment I am overhauling things to prepare to use the detailed forecast data, so I won't be able to release any updates for a little while.

Good news (for some), I've just finished rewriting the resizing algorithms, so the full release of 2.2 will be FULLY COMPATIBLE with large fonts!

I'm still working on rewriting the weather display to remove all the various threading bugs. Hour-by-hour/detailed forecasts will also be available by the final release of 2.2; this will replace the link to the weather.com forecast in the lower right of the forecast area. Cached radar is also up and running.

2.2 RC2 will be released soon (once I finish rewriting the weather display) for testing.

cool, this program is so awesome..

showing my support :p

one thing though, can you have a confirmation dialog for the uninstall, today i accidentally clicked it and i had to redo the settings. lol not that big of an issue but just sayin...

also on my computer, the box that hte program runs in is a lil small, the weather.com logo gets cut off a bit at the bottom.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
