Msn/Hotmail Ups Storage Space

Recommended Posts

Yahoo did the same a week and half ago. :p

They upgrade their free email storage to 100Mb.

It is cool. But anyway there is still one free good email service better than hotmail and yahoo that allow you to use smtp and pop to manage your e-mail and have a good storage.

SPYMAC. 1Gb

Maybe it should be thanks to Spymac not google because google keep the idea like a project. :D

I have been trying them and they are just not reliable. The place has tons of problems with delivery, and their mail is bounced a lot for some reason, maybe because the word SPY is in the address. Spend some time reading on their forums and you will see just how much trouble people are having with their spotty service.

Hotmail have now too decided to upgrade their services following Yahoo!'s strategy.

Plans are to increase the inbox space to 250MB and provide everyone with free antivirus protection. Attachment file size is also been increased to 10MB. MSN customers would also be provided with an online MSN Calendar which allows for individual or shared diaries.

Premium and Plus Scribers get bumped to 2GB and 20 MB file attachments.

All this will not be implemented till July, 2004.

I didn't know the calendar was coming back either.

I'd like to see Hotmail reposition the ads on the site and have an option to kill Messenger integration. One thing I hate about Hotmail is all my MSN Messenger contacts get added to my address book, which I try to keep neat and tidy with just the people I email frequently. But if I delete people from the address book that are on my Messenger list, BAM they disappear on Messenger too.

too late hotmail :/

how is it too late? hotmail has millions and millions of users that will get this upgrade. even though yahoo has already done their upgrade with 100MB of space, hotmail's offer is 250MB (a whole 150MB more than yahoo). and as for gmail, it is still based on invitations which means that it is not open to anyone that wants one.

i doubt that google could offer that much space (1GB) for as many people as hotmail supports. that would be millions and millions and millions of gigabytes.

it all depend on who you are an how many thing you have signed up for over the internet. my hotmail address only gets a couple a week or two, while my yahoo account gets 20+ each week.

hotmail is not crap. great interface. the only problem, is that it is slow on dial up, at the moment. i dont use dial up, i use dsl so it doesnt matter to me.

Agreed. I don't have any junk mail on Hotmail - probably because I never sign up for anything with it

    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
    • Nothing is stopping you from continuing with your testing cadence. If updates are released every 2 weeks instead of 4, and you test once every 4 weeks, the exact same amount of patches will still be available for you in those 4 weeks. For example: Before 4th week - patch 1, 2, 3, 4 After 2nd week - patch 1 and 2 4th week - patch 3 and 4 Still the same amount after 4.
    • Everyone else has said it. I'm gonna say it - you don't know what you're talking about. I do. I have two laptops. One work, one personal. I have access to two more laptops - both personal. At home I manually update my personal laptop when I see on Neowin that there is an update - I carry on and only apply the updates when I am ready. My work one only updates when my workplace decides to send it - I carry on and only apply the updates (when they actually arrive, which is usually days after the release) when I switch off the laptop at the end of the day as usual. The two other personal laptops only get updated when I get to it which is rarely - the people who own them carry on using them until I get to it and update them. All of the browsers on all laptops are configured to restore the tabs when launched. Google and Microsoft have changed from 6 weeks to 4, and it looks like it's going to move to 2. None of these changes affect how any of these browsers on the laptops are used. Not one jot. My advice to you is stop panicking whenever you see an update. Just carry on with what you're doing. This even benefits you in a way - from your comment you sound like you don't like the changes or the frivolous new features - great - then carry on as before!
