nathanhandley
I go both ways though I can't really use my PC for gaming right now due to problems.. A question while I'm here, how do I get my gamer profile from my Gamertag on my signature here? The iframe code doesn't work.
lithiumx
I've been a console gamer since I first got my SEGA Master System. I currently have a Xbox 360 and prefer it for most games (sports, racing, etc...). Admitedly the PC is better for FPS games but I have neither the funds nor the inclination to upgrade my graphics cards in order to play the latest games. RPDL
I prefer the PC for many reasons. The controls. Console gamers will say they can do just as much with a controler than a mouse and keyboard, but thats just because they got used to it, whereas First Person Shooters played with a mouse are simpler, and more realistic (as you dont have to hold the paddle as your aim moves, your aim moves as you move your mouse). I'd need a new TV. I've got an old CRT TV with a pretty small screen. I wouldn't buy a new one because I don't have cable or satellite (antenna FTW). You dont need a supercomputer. Pentium D840 from early 2005, 2gb of 667mhz memory and a Radeon 2600 can handle Bioshock at maximum specs, Crysis and COD4 at medium-high. This computer isn't worth alot of money (around 360$, I'd say) , and it plays games from late 2007-2008 pretty darn well. Its getting old now, but remember that most of it is made up of 2005 hardware. You certainly don't have to buy hardware every few months to be able to play games. Consoles performance gets old fast. When the seventh generation consoles came out, they seemed to leave PCs in the dust, but now PC games have just as good graphics (at significantly higher resolutions too!). The thing is a new generation of consoles is only released every five years or so, and the old one loses its appeal compared to the quality of PCs. Think about 2004-2005, the games on the PC, like Half-life 2 among others, had clearly superior graphics. No doubt console game developers must've needed alot of extra effort to try to make their games look good on aging hardware.
CrashG
PC gaming all the way baby! I think the last consoles I owned were the SNES and a Sega Genesis w/the 32x add-on.

ozgeek
I'd say PC is very attractive to play games but consoles also have it's better uses in gaming - racing and puzzles. Many shooting game makers lack the acknowledge of controller customization for example I personally feel better at playing FPS on Xbox360 if the left stick is mainly used for looking up and down and skaifing and the right stick assigned to walking forward and look left and right (the typical of Halo CE Xbox controller setup). My computer does suck at gaming but luckily can play TF2 and other Valve games on it great.
acnpt
Console, as I can just turn on and play. Plus my desktop isn't powerful enough, and my laptop is currently getting its second attempt at being fixed by acer.
Crompee
I much prefer PC Gaming, mainly as my favourite genre is RTS :p The only real thing which annoys me with PC Gaming is the amount of DRM which is being pushed onto us at the moment. Skulltrail-old
PC gaming all the way baby! I think the last consoles I owned were the SNES and a Sega Genesis w/the 32x add-on. Mines the PS2. I actually think the PC can out beat a console, even at gaming, you would just have to reallly stress that puppy up with the latest and best hardware; Skulltrail mobo, dual QX9775, 8GBs of RAM, 3xSLI 9800GTX, 1TB HDD, Blu-ray drive, T1 internet connection. I'll be damned if that rig can't beat both the PS3 and the XBOX 360... put together! I much prefer PC Gaming, mainly as my favourite genre is RTS :pThe only real thing which annoys me with PC Gaming is the amount of DRM which is being pushed onto us at the moment. If your created a game, and saw thousands of gamers had your game but your income did not increase (meaning they didn't pay), wouldn't you increase the DRM on your upcomming games? Or better yet, update the game while introducing newer and better security against piraters.

Skulltrail-old
i used to be console until all the hidden costs of them got the better of me, games for consoles are ridiculously over-priced compared to there pc counterparts. PC's aren't meant for gaming, they were originally designed for solving problems the human mind could not calculate rapidly; hence the name, "computer." Consoles are designed for gaming and only gaming; Sony added the feature of multimedia playback in their PS2, (DVD Video, Music CD capabilities) which was then adapted onward to the PS3 and Microsoft's XBOX 360. PC gaming is somewhat flawed because it does not dedicate itself to the gaming, it still calculates the rest of the operating system while you play, which is where computer lag usually comes from. ScorpioRGc1
Both, really. For the past several years, it was mainly console (GameCube/PS2) because my old laptop sucked. But back when it was new (and even before that on my old Pentium II Dell), i played a lot of PC games in the late 90s on to about 2003 (when the laptop started feeling its age). About 9 months ago, I built a new gaming PC and have mainly been playing PC games since (a combination of playing catchup and nothing really noteworthy coming out on the PS2). On theo ther hand, I've been a console gamer since I was 4 (meaning about 21 years). So I just voted both. :p

generic mike
BOTH! but for various reasons. PC: Customization, smoothness and accuracy of controls. You can't beat that. Graphics. A pro and a con. While games will run longer on an older hardware, you have to upgrade to get the best for the newer games, unless you overclock with confidance then you get real bang for your buck. Multi Player. I find PC gamers much more social and competent when working in teams. Console: Cheaper, in some cases. Specialization. Like an apple, it's components are mostly made specifically for the console to work like a single entity (in theory). Graphics: while hardware does get older b4 a new console comes out, graphics don't suffer much, if any. Just look at what Nintendo did with Mario and Mario 3. Huge diffrence with the graphics on the same hardware. Same with PS1. Multiplayer: 4 ppl can't play on one PC.
Skulltrail-old
I say consoles because they are designed just for games. PCs on the other hand can always be upgraded but will cost you a lot more money than a simple console. ($300 Xbox 360 + $200 for 4 games = $500 whereas a good gaming PC is $800+) Ironically, I'm a PC gamer because I can't afford a console.
wisetalk
PC gaming is much better. These days graphics acceleration is getting more advanced and PC games are becoming more sophisticated. So I go for PC games.....besides you can do some work with it when you've got enough of playing
joeblogg
i have a ps2 but i rarely play it. i prefere playing games on my computer because when i get bored of playing games i can straight away do other thimngs without having to switch of the console and go to my computer. i can also be on msn and stuff while i'm playing games. i also prefere the controls on pc's instead of consoles. especially with first person shooters. imagine trying to snipe with a bloody console control. with a pc you use the mouse to snipe which is much more accurate. MLIFE
PC is good for the power it can deliver, and ability to play any sort of media with no real restraint on codecs with many extra functions but may fail on price point while Consoles have great ease of use and are quite relatively cheap. Right now just playing on the PS3 but will set up a powerful PC once I graduate and start working =) And PC are better for some games mostly because developers dont have keyboard support. PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers both work on the PC which is great =). Cant wait to play PES 2009 on 1080p with my friend on his PC, him using a Xbox 360 controller and I will be using the PS3 remote =)
Pompeius
PC's are only good if you can afford a top-of-the line system every few years. Other than that, you can get a great experience with just a console and not have to worry about it not living up to the performance demands of a game. Other than that, you can get a great experience with just a console and not have to worry about it not living up to the performance demands of a game. I agree. I've actually quit PC gaming altogether. So tired of having to upgrade all the time. I'm now considering a console instead and might leap on the PS3 when it drops to $299 in April. Consider that I spent $534 on my old Radeon X1900XT, $383 on a Radeon X800XT All-In-Wonder and $369 on the Radeon 9700 Pro before that. What a waste of money. Xeilo.
I am both, and I play a lot of both as well. It depends what the game is to what I will use. Driving games are best for console and shooters are best on PC.
