Your Mac Hardware Setup

Recommended Posts

Cool, what do you do with it and how does it perform? Thinking of getting one. Not sure whether to get the 2.66 Quad or the 2.26 Octo :s

Mostly photo editing, InDesign and other stuff for college. Some casual gaming as well. Overal it performs very well. If you don't use applications that make full use of 8-cores the 2.66 GHz Quad is probably a better investment than the 2.26 GHz 8-Core, not to mention faster. A friend of mine even managed to install regular 4 GB memory cards into his Quad Mac Pro without any modifications.

Holy gezz dude. We almost have the exact same set up. Same laptop, laptop stand, keyboard, mouse, hell even my tabletop color is the same!

I love your taste.

Maybe he broke into your crib and took the pictures???

Hurry home and check on your stuff, quick!!!!

So did i.

You decided to go wireless after all. (Y)

Quick update, I will post some better pics later:

Main Workstation:

New March 2009 Mac Mini, recently upgraded to 4GB of RAM.

2 new Viewsonic 22" 1080P LCDs running at 1920x1080 (that resolution was a major purchasing decision)

March 2007 MacBook Pro, recently upgraded to 2GB of RAM (just got a brand new battery compliments of the Apple Store, it started swelling like the last one)

July 2008 iPhone 3G 16GB

There are some other Macs and *nix boxes scattered throughout the house, I will post some better pics this weekend.

As a new mac user who had a system bought for me at work:

* I have a nice metal laptop that says MacBook Pro - and it rocks so hard!

* I have a wireless metal keyboard that is a dream to type on.

* I have a wired mouse with no visible buttons and a rinky-dink roller wheel. I dislike it's right-click movement.

* I'm plugged into this vast display that I have to lean around to see what's goin on around the office.

I am being facetious, but I am new to Macs, been using it about a week, and feel like "Wow, why have I not been using these all my life?". But then went to the Apple Store and saw the price tags...

Shame, cos I would 100% convert my home setup otherwise :(
