you should edit the first post, and mention how much fun the control pod cable is

I have had some problems but all have been fixed. The cable is fine on my sub and control pod :s .

I to had the hiss problem also my sub was making a low hum noise. I was so ****ed. I starting looking around the net and found this forum and then tried wiggling around the control pod connector and what do you know the hiss and the subwoofer noise went away. Im glad i found this forum. I like the sub on my 560s more than this one though.

Indeed, i now have no room for my legs under my desk because of the HUGE sub lol, a compromise i am more than prepared to make for such a great sound syste:):)

luckily I have a big room so I can put it elsewhere hehe

quick question The sound on my 5500's gets very weak and low when im playing a dvd video anyone know why ? Its only like this on windows media player

585237566[/snapback]

all dvds are "lower" than normal volumes... esp when it comes to voices and the like... where as action scenes are louder. This is by design and equates to more realistic difference in volumes for the kinds of sounds you hear

When i play DVD's right from a dvd player i have to change the volume to half way to get the volume i like for my room... and when im outputting normal music/game sounds from my computer i leave it at around 1/4 volume (or less)

EDIT: it has nothing to do with the speakers, it happens to my TV and to my last 3 sets of 5.1

to the people who are having hissing problems:

at what volume are you having the hissing? I only get a hissing problem right when i push the volume past the "e" of volume. It gets progressively louder once the boost level is to the max of 11. my system volume is at 70%

I only hear a "hissing" when the volume is in the boost mode but sounds more like normal white noise common to some speaker system. On normal listening levels, I don't hear a thing.

these got quiter all of a sudden i ono what happen :(

will need more information...

looked at all the volumes on the speakers, not just the main volume

checked all PC volumes... wave and master?

and if its just in a game.. check its volumes too

to get the PC out of the picture, plug something else into the speakers (DVD, mp3 player, anything) and test

Just a quick question.

Will a optical to digital out cable be right to get the digital sound going.? (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS)

I do have one of those optical cables that came with the apple monster cables box,

( Mini optical digital to digital Toslink Monster cable )

That I bought for my Airport Express. I tried hooking it up. (Optical to Digital Out on SB card) But when I went to input on the control base for the speakers it said no digital data. Here is a screen shot of the cable for reference.

    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
    • Clearly that feature isn't for us. It's for the ad spam marketers so they can more directly target us about going to places we might want to go again...but without understanding context clues. Like for the flight someone took for a friend's funeral. We want to be reminded of that every time we open an app, a browser, or email, right? Right, Siri?
