Saw this first on alldumb.com...

Someone screwed up her lipsync'ed music on tonight's SNL. She stormed off. Well watch it for yourself: http://www.collegehumor.com/news/ashlee_snl.wmv

Check out the smiles of the band.

vegatarians are delicious

Wait I'm confused. I tuned out during the presidential debate skit. Did this really happen live or was it just an out-take?

SNL is pre-recorded isn't it? If they recorded it before, wouldn't they cut it out for the actual showing?

If you watch the beginning, you'll notice it says "Broadcast from a previous live recording". All the acting is done live, but it's recorded before (just like late night shows).

Or at least that's what I assumed from what I read.

in her defense, it might not be a case of lip synching, it might be that they actually double that stuff. i've seen her perform live before and it was so bad that it couldn't have possibly been lip synching.

there's also a possibility that the DAT that they play off of that has "shadows" on it is also what the band uses to practice for shows when she's not around.

there are a number of answers, and i'm sure she's going to have to come up with one.

a lot of bands have pre-recorded parts (clicks or drum parts) and becuase she doesn't have backup singers like avril does there could actually be a recorded track of her singing to double up on her vocals. the reason i'm thinking that is because the vocals in that video have so much echo/reverb on them that they would never be able to be pulled off as being "live"

i don't think that this is a milli vanilli situation

thats only when they air old episodes.....

Hmm you guys may be right about a lot of the live performers lip syncing for clarity, but a lot of other "bands" do not lip sync. I think I remember celine dion :p performing one time and she didn't milli vanilli cause she did the whole "move-your-hand-with-the scale" thing. Either way, she was pretty unprofessional.

****HAHA I'm on the west coast and just saw it. They edited out all of the singing that they goofed up on, so it looks like they start and she just freaks out.

Okay, just aired on the west coast... THEY EDITED IT!!!

and wow, that was totally blown out of proportion. It was nothing more than a technical miscue. She should not be embarassed at all for this as it was not her fault.

Oh and I think she was dancing like that to address the fact that someone was f-ing up.

    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
