ok, i this little problem. hl2, cs:s and hl:s wont start. Basicly it crashes right after loading screen.

i dont know what to do :cry:

i've updated my video drivers and it still wont work :( bloody hell :angry:

It does sound like an overheat. More likley the GPU, but possibly the CPU. CS Source does not nearly put as much strain on your system as HL2.

I only have one dvd drive....and no virtual drives. Still same problem. This is really homosexual. Pay $80 for a game and it doesnt work.

Best advice for strategy guide would be don't get one, figure it out for yourself, much more rewarding and fun.

If so, try setting the ratio in your BIOS to 1:1

How can i get DOD:Source and HL1:source with the uk release? it wont let me buy the individual games, and the packages charge full whack - not upgrade fees.

That's still besides the point of what I said. Someone like that will come back and post something else that might ruin the game and you're going to end up seeing it and be angry that you did. Just don't read anything about the game until your done with it, that's is if you don't want someone to ruin it for you. It's kind of pointless to go hush hush don't say anything because you know someone is going to end up saying something. It's like walking into girls locker room, you may or may not see a boobie ;).

Why do I care? Because it's kind of like walking into it, you can't blame anyone but your self for coming the the thread. You know everyone  ends up posting someone thing may ruin the game. It happens on every game release and every movie release.

i now system specs are good enough.

and no it doesnt give any errors.

Does any other games runs on your system and also try any of the steam game like CS 1.6. Also try to reinstall dx9.0c,

Check/post on the steampowered forums. That will be the best source for a workaround.

Played it this morn before work. I love it. I love the graphics. I love the way you can manipulate everything. I didn't want to go to work. It is awesome. I see people compare engines and in my opinion comparing the D3 and HL2 Engine is like comparing apples to oranges. They both have amazing pluses and minuses. But I am very impressed. GO VALVE!

I've got the AC97 sound chipset and get stuttery sounds sometimes, nothing serious.

Might try turning sound down to low quality just to keep it completely smooth.

well i used to have cs: s illegaly some time ago :p and it worked fine. (i use different steam account for thi, so no worries ;))

its weird..probably will reinstall hl2 , and also reinstall dx9.c
