Also got the sound and video stutter problem.

Have used the cfg tweak and 5:1 setting which has made a big difference, but the stuttering is still there, and this is only playable on medium texture and model setting - turn these up to high and it becomes completely unplayable.

please fix soon valve!

I know it's early, but I'm already stuck in half life 2.  I'm in the Route Kanal, in the place where it looks like you need to go through a tunnel with red lights.  The problem is I cant figure out how to reach the tunnel (it is too high).

You have to increase the water height  from the other side by dropping down on some pipes and turn the red valve.

Good Luck!

Just for the future: there arent any puzzles in the game that require stacking crates or barrels for an hour or so to get by them. There was one point later on where I thought I had to do that but I was blocked from going further by an invisible wall. The problem you have has been answered a lot on the forums so you might wanna just search back through the thread because I really can't describe what to do.

Is anyone else bitterly disappointed by the Collectors Edition version of HL2? The t-shirt is great, and of course HL2 is tops, but Half Life Source is a joke. Same textures, physics only available for ragdoll, etc. The supplied strategy guide/making of HL2 book is teeny as it only contains excerpts from the most useless parts of each book. Bah.

if you woulda bought it gold from steam you get the back catalog, more free stuff a soundtrack cd and the full stratagy guide.

Most of your post is simply inferences. If you play the game you would never know where the combine came from in either of the games. Anyways the storyline isn't that thin, the running plot is very thing however. Most of the levels are just running around and finding some destination where you have to leave right away anyways because it isnt safe, and there is almost never an objective.

Where The Combine came from isn't importrant. There's always an objective, it's just that there's no "show objective" button. Yes it may look like there's just levels where you go from a to b, but if you stop running through them at max speed you'll notice alot of hints lying around like posters, grafitty and clipboards. You'll also learn things by talking to all of the people around in City 17.

Hows about you stay on topic and stop bashing the game, take it to the official thread if you have nothing to contribute.

I have the stuttering problem. i lowered the sound quality to low, and the game runs much more sooth, except there is horrendous stuttering at the autosave points and when I load a game.

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
