OMG. USE A MAGNETIC CRANE to move the car.

Agreed, this has already been mentioned a dozen times.

Righty then, get out of the car, follow the bridge (or platforms) to the crane, get into the crane (up the ladder) and then use the crane to pick the buggy up and swing it over to the other platform (where the enemies are shooting at you).

Then you should be able to figure out the simple task ahead of you.

SPOILERS: :o

I think you both misunderstood the screenie. This is the part where I get into the buggy and the woman operating the crane drops the buggy infront of the antlions. I get out, shoot the antlions and flip the buggy. I am supposed to head for Nova prospekt now but I cant make the jump ahead. I need to backup on the bridge and race to the ramp but I keep getting stuck on the bridge. :/

Damn!

Spoilers:

I am at the "Follow Freeman" mission, at the roof with Barney, I already killed the snipers that pinned him down and now he keeps screaming follow me but he doesnt move, he just screams "come on" and "follow me"

anyone with this problem? any suggestions?

Damn!

I don't know. Maybe some object is preventing him from moving or something of what sort. I finished the game and can tell you that it's not suppose to happen.

spoiler!

Anyway for those who say ending sux, you could not be more wrong. It was a bit short. yes. And you would expect it to be more challenging. I guess people are disappointed with the way things were left off. Nothing definite was revealed. We still don't know who the combines are and most importantly who is G-man. We can only wonder and create theories about it. I guess this is the way we are being prepared for HL3. Don't worry it will become clear in about 6 years. Until then ask [X]-bYtE. He seems to know more about the game than the rest of us. ;)

this happened to me too, he's stuck on a ledge right? you have to move around a bit make him get off that big rock piece... then he'll go down the ramp out of the building.

well sucks to be you if you couldnt figure out who the combine are... I suggest replaying the game untill you figure it out (if you really want to know).

I for one do not like this system for copy protection for Half life 2.

My reasons are...

one. I cant play the game unless I have an internet connetion. I know there are some who say "most people who play the game do have one"  I say what about thoughs who dont?  Dont they have a right to play too? There sould be a way to activate the game off line. Maybe like with windows xp having a 1-800 number. What happens if valve goe's out of bussines? Yes this could happen! How will I activate my game on a new PC?

584979410[/snapback]

No, they don't have the rights. It's apart of the system requirments on the box. There's no excuse. By the time Valve goes out of buisness HL3 will be out, and that's even if it happens. If Valve goes out of buisness, there will be a patch type thing released.

Two. What information is the game sending to steam? How do I know that they wll not use this system to start collecting Information about what games I play, when I play, or start collecting other information we only learn about latter. So they can sell it to other company's, and if you belive that they wont cause of there privacy statement. I say you have to take there word for that. Since there are no laws to keep them from changing there minds latter and doing it anyway!

Read Valve's privacy agreement.

I for one do not like this system for copy protection for Half life 2.

Finaly. Im my opinion My fair use rights should come first. Copy protection Second.

I know there a some who would say what about the rights of the content owner. Well

they do have some but the content owners are the few and they content buyers are the many and last time I hard. The good of the many out way the few.

Just my humble opinion.

You own the copy you bought. You can install steam on however many computers you like and login to the account and play. You just can't be logged in two places at the same time. You may simply not illegaly distribute it.

ok i know theres enough HL2 thread already but it wont hurt to have one more :p i just played some HL2 at my bud's house and yeah its cool but i just dont find it sooooooo great for me its just another FPS. now i have a headache from playing it grrr..... WTF

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
