[DEFINITIVE] Half-Life 2 Thread

cant wait for the "last great war" one. was wanting a WW2 mod that actually had good graphics.... DoD:S is going to be just like HL:S.... which was a total dissapointment. I was under the assumption that hl source was going to be hl1 with hl2 grahpics.... and i thought the same for dod source. can't wait for this to come out, but who knows how long it's going to be.

Call me crazy but isn't the Source SDK already available?

As for the 'suprise':

I think they might be releasing the update to CS:S they mentioned a while back (new models, maps, etc) that they said they would be releasing in December.

Watch the suprise be delayed till next year.

I BSOD'ed one time in the middle of gameplay. I think it was because I just updated my video card drivers and forgot to restart. Then my Go-Kart was hanging off a bridge by one wheel and was stuck through the side of a bridge. Other than that I havent found any other bugs. (Y)

That's called helping solve a problem, not encouraging piracy, whether it be a pirated game or not. Just because someone doesn't help him doesn't mean that he won't get the answers elsewhere. And by the way, if you really want some good info on half life 2, there is a good thread on the www.nforce.nl forums in PC Arena section.

Would you give someone in a car with a pile of DVD boxes scattered across the back seat street directions?

i'm impressed. to bad my computer completely blows and my parents are anti-fps games

Why are your parents against FPS games? Tell them you know the difference between fantasy and reality and where to draw the line....

the game is pretty straight forward. Not too much to get stuck on...

Problem being that the maps are pretty big, so finding the entrance / exit to the map can be a bit of a problem - I know it was for me, especially in Ravenholm.

BTW, anyone else think the same that I did, when you heard Alyx say something like, 'That's the way to Ravenholm, we dont go there anymore' - the first thing that came into my head was - 'Well I bet Ive got to bloody go there'

A major compiler is used for both x86/x64 and WoA64 architectures. This also means that all core libraries are re-compiled accordingly which required some changes in the build scripts. One of the core libraries (cURL) has been updated to address vulnerabilities and a nasty linker error that was causing the need for a dedicated patch which could now be eliminated.
