are any of u aware.. that the textures in WoW are hand painted ?

They aren't. They are first done in drawings then sent to computer graphics people....Half the time the stuff they draw on paper doesn't make it into the game. You can see this by looking at concept art and comparing it to the stuff thats actually in the game.

War hammers game play doesn't compare to the complexity of WoWs. Its going to be hyped like Hellgate London then turn out to be just as bad.

Wow I didn't realise you were in the beta. Had seen the new podcasts and realised Blizz is copying the siege RvR system from Mythics game, DAoC, in to their new expansion.

At the end of the day gfx updates its safe to say the majority of us will probs keep playing

Aye, well the case is there is simply nothing else out there that competes for the time being.

Grats on a Guild Wars UI with a WoW concept.

I'll stick to WoW, I don't want to waste my life re-leveling again.

One thing i thought was quite weird, it took around 25 minutes to install off the 5 CDs, yet it took about 3 seconds (literally) to uninstall, is that right? :/

File copy operations from optical discs to hard drives take a lot longer than file delete operations. And I think the files are compressed on the discs, so the decompression also takes some time.

with a WoW concept.

WoW your first MMO? They copied off everyone else. They even stole Everquests designer.

Warhammer is a game which is all about city sieges and RvR. It doesn't focus on PvE like WoW. So really. They don't have much in common when it comes to end game.

But this thread is about WoW so lets leave that there shall we? I don't want to be pointing out every new gameplay mechanic for the next two weeks!

Ah, makes sense. I would have kept it but i don't think i want to lose ?110/yr to something i can't even touch:pp

Why wouldn't you be able to touch it?:

At lvl 10 uve got about 1/10 of ur abilitys seen about 0.1% of the game and its enviroments, probs not even run the 1st dungeon, not done any pvp, barely fought what can be called a boss. Many players still wont have joined a guild, the quests will be simplistic at best. No real porgression of proffessions or skills, barely scratched the talent system.

Yes I like wow but your basing your opinion on what is literally maybe 1-2hrs gameplay max. I think its fair to say that if we all did that then god knows how many games would pass under our radar as not being any good.

Hell I remember when i 1st played Tekken, hated it at 1st as I couldnt do anything and the comp always beat me, even after a good week of owning the game i was still in that position, but i stuck it out and forced myself to see what the fuss was about, eventually i started getting somewhere and no apart from Soul Calibur its one of my fave beat em ups ever.

Have to say if your attitude to games is "if im not hooked by the time ive played the 1st level" then maybe games arent the best thing, or shud be looking at arcade games rather than anything thats got any real length to it, as in many cases devs leave the best to last or atleast past the 50/75% mark.

Meh, the guy is right.

I had 3 level 70's and It's the same **** all through the game, grinding! 1 to 10 and you've experienced the game, except a few crappy dungeons, some ingame pixel "Epic items" and the odd PvP.

( You can see i lost the "WoW Spark" a long time ago  )

1. Any1 can recommend a reliable addons site? I know not all sites can be trusted.

2. any recommended complete UI (for Rogue if that makes difference). I have seen many UIs but never tried any cause I am not sure if they are practical or not.

Well if those that want to disagree with me want to spend their time running through cyber worlds, attacking cyber animals and fighting with other people you go do that, i'm not. That's my opinion, i'm entitled to it so that is WHY i posted 'Chaos'

Period.

fair enough. obviously many people out there disagree and to each their opinion.

and thnx for quitting cause that helps make the waiting times for BGs a bit less :p

+1. You have seen all the game has to offer at 10. Same run here run there quests, combat is the same regardless of what you are fighting and playing waaaaaaay too long to try and get something with an unrealistic drop rate.

Oh, and Warhammer has been around since 1987. So even though the concept of Orcs, Dwarves etc came from D&D, they aren't copying WoW in any way.

(Oh, and D&D was influenced by Tolkein who started it all I guess.)

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
