Theres many elements to WOW, it would be naive to think that there are not repetitive elements to the game, its just a matter to some whether those repetitive elements outweight the other enjoyable/entertaining elements. I think even Blizzard have conceded WOW is in decline, after all these years you cant expect it to not wane especially with competition.

Next year will be a good year for these type of MMO's, the Lich King and the next patch to lower the exp required to level will draw some back, but Age of Conan from all appearances looks pretty set to take advantage of many of the areas WOW can be improved in, combined with a much needed revision of graphics and effects.

Are you living under a rock?

People are rediculous!

So, to you, "Osiris", what is a good year? Having over 9 million subscribers, 7 of which have been REGULARY (two hours a week or more) active in september alone? Seriously, people expect so much from this game, it's people like you who think graphics make a game, that things need constant updating to satisfy your needs, because you see it fit.

Sorry. The graphics are fine. It's NOT supposed to be a high definition action FPS running on SLi on your $4,000 computer. It is updated at least once a week, not to mention how well the servers run, and how the tech/in-game support is.

What the going trend around here seems to be is that when a person has grinded out all they can because they are so in love with the game, then they get bored, and call it bad, and say it's declining.

Ohh whats this, lower XP needed to level? Ohh ohh When when?

I been away since beginning of june (when I quit playing for my 6th time!) I been itching to play again for the past week or so. I would have re-activated my acct already but no money right now. So is it next patch like today is tuesday patch day, or next patch v2.3 in who knows how long?

2.3 is on the PTR server at mo for public testing.

So maybe in a month to 6 weeks time well see it hit the live servers, hard to say for sure tho

I found a link for more info for anyone else out there who had been away.

I was thinking on rejoining to level my druid & warlock to at least 60. Maybe ill work on one of my 60+ chars to 70 then (i have 4, 60-64 toons, thats how much of a life I dont have!)

Also for those interested... a bunch of new quests including a dustwallow marsh goblin town, soloable elite quests, better drops, more xp from quests.

Though these only affect level 20-60.

See, you're what we call a fanboy because you are soo bent on defending the game you cant even make heads or tails of when someone is offering legitimate constructive criticism. I know im wasting my breath but im going to defend my comments in the hopes that perhaps you had been playing the game all night and were overtired when you originally read my post...

1. I wasnt suggested Blizzard hasnt had another profitable year, my comments of a "good year for MMO" was from a consumers point of view. It goes on the theory that more competition and a wide selection of choices is A) good for consumers itself and B) promotes producers to compete with each other in order to enhance their product or service.

2. I don't think graphics make the game, hell I've been playing games on the same laptop for the last 1.5 years so if cutting edge graphics were my definition of a good game I wouldnt have played very many in that time now would I? I actually agree with you that graphics dont make a good game alone, but to think that after nearly 4 years with all the leaps in technology, that the graphics don't need updating or a WoW2 engine isnt going to be required is simple folly. When this game came out its graphics were fine and on par, and for the game itself the graphics are still fine, but if we compare the graphics in WOW to the graphics in upcoming MMO games then a clear difference stands out. Further, to not even demand or question graphics improvements from a game you enjoy so much is just letting yourself and the procuders of this game slip into mediocrity.

3. Now I actually play WoW and I obviously don't mind the game given that I keep paying my subscription, but im not going to be blind and close my eyes to the potentially good new MMOs on the horizon or to my expectation of Blizzard to keep improving the game, theres always room for improvement, even more so[i/] in MMOs due to their dynamic update abilities.

for once i'm hoping the next patch will be like 2 months away lol

i saw the video for the 375 engineering mount and i need time to level it up

i've been stuck at 275 engineering since pre BC.... i'm so lazy

need 900 admantite ore , like 100 khorium and 15 dawntstones to do 360-375 in eng its a pain the butt. But im still going cause like you I want that mount.

Looking forward to this little buff the retri pally got..

Fanaticism will now reduce threat caused by all actions by 6/12/18/24/30%, in addition to its current effect.

Arcane Shot will now Dispel one magic effect, before the damage ticks, so a priest with shield will get full dmg and shield removed.

Aimed Shot with 50% reduced healing. Same percent as Mortal Strike, 3,5 seconds is much, but not impossible to get off.

10% of the AP in additional dmg on Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap, Explosion Trap, still useless but hey Wink better than nothing.

Trueshot Aura (Marksmanship) no longer costs mana to cast and will last until cancelled. Still bad for a 41 point talent, should be something near 200 AP or scale with the AP of the Hunter.

Wyvern Sting (Survival) is now instant cast and has a maximum duration of 10 seconds in PvP. Nice touch with the instant, but not many decent Arenas Builds for SV in Arenas. The tick dmg on this ability is also way too low, and it should be undispellable.

Deadzone reduced: Before it was 8-35 for ranged attacks, now: 4-37, VERY nice change, imo I thought it was okay with 8 yards as I am BM and can sort that little gap out, but for others specs, and less experience in the class, it might be an issue.

As the maximum range got buffed with 2 yards (I assume it did, as Aimed Shot is now 37 yards) it is now very good to get the 3/3 Hawk Eye which increases ur maximum range to 43 yards, two more than other classes, no matter what spec.

Bah, great timing, only a week or two after I quit WoW they introduce the biggest change in hunter class history. :pinch: (all the above mentioned changes are already on the PTR from what I've read)

They should've removed/reduced the deadzone a long time ago...

My character is now level 45, ... sucks to be a newb again, but it rocks on a pvp server

on a low pop server too, AH prices are good, halfway to my epic mount money, I even... enjoy fishing.. have fishing and cooking at 300 now .. Tanaris is fun to fish at.... especially on a pvp server :)

What addon do I need to have an additional "mini-action bar" (like the one for pets) above the right 2nd action bar ? I've seen some hunters have their aspects in that action bar and I like the idea.

Depends on whether you just need a bar with aspects, trackings and traps, or you want customizable bars where you can put any spell/ability/macro.

Aspects

AspectsBar

Trackings

TrackingBar

Traps

TrapBar

If you want the latter, then go for Colicab's suggestion, Bartender. There are some other action bar addons such as Bongos, FlexBar, and so on, but Bartender is probably the easiest to customize and it's lightweight.

I may have the highest leveled bank alt ever imaginable...

I took all my epics(12) and sharded them. I gave those and my 300g away to some rogue on the server. THe reason I did this was because I'm not a good tank at all. I got booted from my 3rd guild in a month after we downed Lurker(first guild kill) and attempted hte loot reaver.

So, servers are down right now; anyone know if the new patch (mostly just curious because of new hunter updates) is going on, or is it just maintenance.

Every Tuesday is Maitenance day. Usually the servers just get rolling restarts but ocasionally they will go down.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
