lol so tonight was the premier of My own worst enemy on NBC. About 15 mins in the main computer guy was playing wow on this million dollar mainframe.. Actually he was on a dragonhawk doing dailies at sunwell.. I started saying "he is playing wow" and my wife called me a nerd.. I felt like one thats for sure

So. Two things.

1.

3.0.2 : _eager__by_darkmoon3636.gif.

My Pally build for 3.0.2.

I'm pretty excited about it.

And 2.:

When no one is on in my guild, I started an Alliance side toon (the blessings of being on a PVE server).. so that I have something to do as there aren't as many Hordies on that are level 53 and are interested in running LBRS where I need to level right now.

He's an awesome gnome rogue.

Never thought I'd enjoy it all that much but he's quite fun to play.

Is the patch definitely coming out today? I've seen no word on it from Blizzard, and I'd have thought a major patch like this would be preloaded in parts days or weeks in advance like they have in the past. Maybe it will be but I've seen these patch rumors before and they turned out to not be true at all.

It most definitly is, check your login screen announcements ;)

They have been sending out parts of the patch for quite some time now. If you haven't gotten any of those parts I sure hope you have a fast internet connection and use Patch Mirrors to download your parts ASAP. Otherwise you risk losing valuable 3.0.2 play time

servers wont be up till 5pm my time though.. And you know how blizz is.. IT really means we are going to spend all night just TRYING to log in, and then when we do get in the lag is going to be so horrible that we won't get to play. lmao. Crap.. I need to find a mage build. I haven't TOUCHED wow in about a month and a half....

Hmm. Damn, I'm going to have to respec all my characters. Think I'll be going with this build for my shadow priest. Also, does anyone know how badly this patch will break current addons?

You will have to update, and some will be broken. But there wasn't any major LUA changes, so they should be quick fixes and some older ones should still work. I'd still recommened updating them though.

Well I looked up all my mods and they have apparently been "updated". Downloaded them all but WoW say 75% are out of date still. Only time will tell, just waiting for my realm to come back up.

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
