Its just a game. You (people in general) can deal with it for a week or two. You can get back to your daily grinding, or your daily quests soon enough. Its not like you haven't been doing the same exact thing for years. It won't hurt for something different. Its part of the WarCraft storyline and i think it fits in well. Its mass chaos going into Northrend to face the Lich King Arthas. With everything happening during this event, I think it sets it up well.

Yeah, i'm sick of hearing the whining too. Have some fun for once instead of the mindless farming. Calm down, its a game, and WoW isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Regarding the Zombie Plague:

So it looks like a cure has finally been found? for now.

...

Couple of other important notes:

* The scourge invasion will continue for a few more days* The prologue event is not over! More to come!!i>

* The Karazhan boss will be up for approximately another week still

* We increased the respawn rate of the Necropoli

* Zombie cure should kick in by around noon PST

I think the zombe event can have its moments. But it sure does make me mad when all the npcs are dead and I can't do what I need to do to play the game. Just /quit and go do other things I guess.

I had an opportunity to heal Kara with my Holy Paladin last night. I haven't even played that character since the patch. I probably could have solo healed it. It was ridiculously easy with the new Beacon of Light ability and the AoE Holy Light Glyph. The Glyph is more impressive than the Beacon of Light, tbh. The key with the Beacon of Light is the Beacon only receives heals from actual healing done (not over-healing). So you can't make the tank a Beacon, and then just spam heal party members unless everyone is taking damage. I found that it was best to put the Beacon of Light on myself as it ensured that I stayed up as I was healing everyone else.

AoE heal ability is awesome. Its about damn time Pallys get an AoE heal. Overall, it was all so easy and boring. I was having a contest to see how much I could over-heal lol. My Warlock is more fun to play. I need to run some Sunwell and Black Temple w/ my holy pally now.

They changed Mad Alchemist potions! You can only drink 1 in a fight now. That sucks. They were so cheep to make, and now I have to make mana potions too.

The Zombie event is great. It gives (at least me) us something new to participate in rather than the daily grind. At least on my server I can still quest, use flight paths, etc. Most flight paths are covered by the healers so there's not much zombie action there. I for one love the event!

The Zombie event is fun, I am a priest, so I get to like save all the people QQing, lol. Plus it's fun to watch/play :)

I find it more fun to spam Abolish Disease on people trying to get infected.

For all the complaining from people who dislike the event, I think it's only fair that somebody else gets to have fun by denying them some.

You can only drink 1 in a fight now. That sucks. They were so cheep to make, and now I have to make mana potions too.

It's one potion per fight. Period.

3-4 pots per attempt to learn M'uru make this pretty much the greatest raid improvement since 2.0.

I'll give my two cents about the whole thing.

There are some really funny moments and there are some annoying moments. I think there should be some tweaking of what NPCs can be zombified. Like quest givers, flight path masters, etc. One way to make it more appealing is if you got reputation from the Argent Dawn for killing zombies or maybe some of those Necrotic Runes. That would also give people reason to keep the zombies under control, maybe even make raids with healers to cure/exterminate a town of zombies.

Aside from that, the event is a great idea that just needs to be tweaked. I love the idea of incorporating the lore and plot into the actual game for players to interact. There is a plague spreading from Northrend and it's not like you'd not be able to not participate if it were real. If there wasn't a world event, you would go get the expansion pack, install it, and BAM all new plot. Think about what is actually happening in the game, it's pretty interesting and entertaining how Blizzard is going about this whole thing.

With a once in a lifetime event going on, the fact that people even want to do the same old boring things they've done for the past four years and can do again once this event is over kind of blows my mind.

"Let's see, I can go to the auction house and sell some stacks of ore, maybe do that quest I've already done ten thousand times for a bit of gold, become a zombie and wreak havoc on the city (or defend it)...hmm yeah I think I'll go sit in the auction house and sell stuff for a while, then I'll go kill Hogger!"

WTF?

The only thing going here is a disagreement as to what is fun.

To each his own:

I know players who LOVE the Zombie event and love to **** people off with no recourse.

I know people IRL who play and play the Auction House like the stock market and take it seriously.

Two entirely different entities of the game that occur simultaneously.

My only argument/opinion on the whole thing is that it should be similar to world pvp. If you want to you can be flagged for this Zombie Event, if not you don't have to be bothered with it.

Not to completely change the subject, but I'm looking to hear from those of you who play Druids. I play a Tauren Druid on Lothar. I'm currently level 57, and I'm enjoying the character very much. Do any of you use any specific Druid addons? I run with pretty much the default UI. Also, I was looking for a couple good macros to use. (I'm Feral specced). Thanks for any info you guys have.

Yay, finally someone else on Lothar. I've been on Lothar since original WoW release day.

I play alliance though, sorry :( I also don't have a druid. :p

I can definitely confirm Sunwell is a joke. I tanked Brutallus today for my first time and didnt die until he was at around 2%. I also finally came in for Felmyst and didnt get MCed or die from encapsulate. Easy fights.

Feral druid is pretty simple to play but here are some of my macros that may help ya out:

In all of these macros set the icon to the '?' icon

Mount Macro: (Stuff in bold will need to be changed to fit your char)

- This macro will load your mount if you are in an area where you can't fly and are out of combat. If you are out of combat and can fly this will cast flight form. If you are in combat that it will cast Travel form. If you are in combat and swimming it will cast aquatic form.

#showtooltip

/cast [nocombat, noflyable] Swift Stormsaber; [nocombat, flyable] Swift Flight Form; [combat, noswimming] Travel Form; [combat, swimming] Aquatic Form

Feral Charge Macro:

- This Macro will switch you into bear form if you are in caster form and then on the next press cast feral charge - bear. If you are already in cat form then it would cast Feral Charge - Cat.

#showtooltip [stance:3] Feral Charge - Cat; Feral Charge - Bear

/cast [stance:0/2/4/5/6] Dire Bear Form(Shapeshift)

/cast [stance:1] Feral Charge - Bear;[stance:3] Feral Charge - Cat

Mark of the Wild Mouseover Macro

- This macro will allow you to hover over player frames or player models and press your mark of the wild button and it will cast on them. Note: This is also very useful for heals, just change the name of the spell to the name of any one of your heals.

#showtooltip Mark of the Wild

/cast [target=mouseover,exists] Mark of the Wild; Mark of the Wild;

They recently held the Halloween event and it made me stop playing cause I hated that "evil" voice that said some random "creepy" thing once every 5min.

Otherwise pretty cool game though.

Lol!! So your going to stop playing because of a voice that comes up now and then... Besides the 'Hallows end' event will be up soon if you have a look on the calender which is located on the top right hand side of the screen by the mini map..

~ Obi Wong ~ Nice looking Rogue btw ^^ I wont one ;)

*gah* Just waiting for those final days to count down till WOLK its killing me, I have litterally stopped play since I have nothing to do. However I did go on this morning for a bit there was this quest chain in UC with some Argent Dawn people, is this the quest chain that leads into getting the DK or am i just following nothing into nothing yet again?

Likewise. Log in Tuesday at 7:00, raid until 9:00 and I'm done for the week. With 2 raids left it's pretty much impossible to get the last couple of pieces of gear I wanted (trinket, helm, shoulders) so I'm just staying away all together.

I gave up on hoping for a new main-hand and snagged the staff from Sunwell: it should last until 80 (assuming blue quality WoTLK gems it's on par with level 80 heroic loot

There is no quest to get a Deathknight. Level to 55 and you can just choose to make one at the character creation screen.

The Argent Dawn quests are part of the scourge invasion.

is having a level 70 character a pre-requiset to making a death knight (sorry bout any typos) or will new players with no level 70s be able to make one aswell?

I believe just 55 is required.

That's correct.

On beta you can just make one (at least, the last time I tried you could). When the game goes live you will be required to have a level 55 character on the server on which you want to create a deathknight.

Deathknights start at level 55 - completing the starter quests should place you at 58 and geared appropriately to start questing in outland. The starter zone lasts about 4 hours ?30 mins and is one of the coolest things you can do in the game.

    • The quantum search for Time's origin had an equally mind-boggling conclusion by Sayan Sen Image by Steve Johnson via Pexels A theoretical study from researchers at the University of Surrey suggested that the direction of time may not be fundamentally fixed in certain quantum systems. The work, published in Scientific Reports, examined how the “arrow of time” could emerge from microscopic physics and found that time-reversal symmetry can remain intact even in models used to describe processes such as energy loss and thermalisation. The arrow of time refers to the observed one-way direction from past to future in everyday life. In macroscopic processes, this is easy to see. Spilled milk spreads across a table and does not gather back into a glass, and heat flows from hotter objects to colder ones. These processes shape the common sense idea that time moves in a single direction. However, at the level of fundamental physics, many equations do not prefer a direction of time. Time-reversal symmetry means that the same physical laws can describe a system whether time moves forward or backward. This has made it difficult to explain why irreversible behaviour appears in the large-scale world even when the underlying rules do not require it. Dr Andrea Rocco, Associate Professor in Physics and Mathematical Biology at the University of Surrey, described this contrast: "One way to explain this is when you look at a process like spilt milk spreading across a table, it's clear that time is moving forward. But if you were to play that in reverse, like a movie, you'd immediately know something was wrong – it would be hard to believe milk could just gather back into a glass. However, there are processes, such as the motion of a pendulum, that look just as believable in reverse. The puzzle is that, at the most fundamental level, the laws of physics resemble the pendulum; they do not account for irreversible processes. Our findings suggest that while our common experience tells us that time only moves one way, we are just unaware that the opposite direction would have been equally possible." The study focused on open quantum systems, which are quantum systems that interact with a surrounding environment. This environment, often described as a heat bath, can exchange energy and information with the system. The researchers used this framework to study how a direction of time might appear even when the underlying physics does not enforce one. A key part of the analysis involved the Markov approximation. This is a simplification used in many models where the system is assumed not to retain memory of its past states. The idea is that changes depend only on the current state, not on earlier history. This is commonly used when studying thermalisation, which is the process where a system settles into equilibrium with its environment. The study also used concepts such as master equations, including the Lindblad and Pauli equations, which describe how probabilities of different quantum states change over time. Another related model discussed was quantum Brownian motion, which describes the random-like movement of a quantum particle interacting continuously with its environment. In these descriptions, a “memory kernel” can appear, which is a mathematical term that accounts for how past states influence current behaviour. The researchers found that applying the Markov approximation did not break time-reversal symmetry. Even when the system interacted with an effectively infinite heat bath, the resulting equations of motion remained symmetric in time. This meant that the same mathematical description could, in principle, run forward or backward in time without contradiction. The study further showed that standard frameworks used in open quantum systems, including quantum Brownian motion and master equations like the Lindblad and Pauli forms, could be written in a time-symmetric way. These equations are typically used to describe processes that look irreversible, such as dissipation and thermalisation, but the results suggested they can also be interpreted as allowing evolution in both time directions. Thomas Guff, Research Fellow in Quantum Thermodynamics, said: "The surprising part of this project was that even after making the standard simplifying assumption to our equations describing open quantum systems, the equations still behaved the same way whether the system was moving forwards or backwards in time. When we carefully worked through the maths, we found that this behaviour had to be the case because a key part of the equation, the "memory kernel," is symmetrical in time. We also found a small but important detail which is usually overlooked – a time discontinuous factor emerged that kept the time-symmetry property intact. It’s unusual to see such a mathematical mechanism in a physics equation because it's not continuous, and it was very surprising to see it appear so naturally." The researchers also noted that deriving a one-way arrow of time from time-reversal symmetric microscopic dynamics remains an open problem across fields such as thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, particle physics, and cosmology. Their results suggested that some standard descriptions of irreversible behaviour in open quantum systems may be better understood using a time-symmetric formulation of Markovianity. According to the study, processes such as thermalisation, which are usually treated as irreversible, could in theory be described in a way that allows evolution in either time direction under the same rules. This does not imply that time reversal occurs in everyday life, but rather that the underlying equations do not strictly enforce a single direction. Overall, the findings suggested that the perceived direction of time may emerge from how physical systems are modelled and approximated, rather than from a fundamental asymmetry in the laws themselves. The researchers noted that this perspective could have implications for ongoing work in quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and cosmology on the origin of time’s arrow.
