Well this was a PuG, so 6 hours isn't bad.

Yes it is mate. :p

An organized pug should take 4 hours. :)

Add on to that OS (with any amount of drakes up) + Mally should take 30-40 mins. You can clear all the content in a night.

Be sure to be more picky on who you group with. :)

I'm not talking about PuGs that people arrange, that's not a PuG per se, there are no "organized PuGs"

Depends on your server. My server has a few of the 'social elite' who put together Naxx 25, Mally and S+3D runs. They get it finished quickly, it prevents "OMFG U STOLE MY LOOT /raidquit" and moronic wipes.

I don't know how long you've been playing but the quality of player has been taking a dive since AQ was opened.

i hate people with weird characters and i wouldnt bother invite him/her to the party AT ALL. just making people hard to type their names.

Hmm...Well I'm glad I most likely am not going to run into you looking for a group. I'm sorry I'm about the least creative person when it comes to creating character names. I also am not ripping off anyone else's name but my own - my main in BC was Xenosion without any "weird" characters. To me it makes people aware that it is the same person behind the characters. Also, it shouldn't be too much more difficult to create macros and anything else because you can shift+click into the macros interface and any other field. I realize it can be a little more troublesome in some situations and for that I appologize for my fail creativity. :p

Any multi boxers around here who could pass along some tips and tricks? I tried dual boxing ( Two accounts, one computer ) and downloaded some software to clone the key presses to both windows, Keyclone in fact. Problem is, it's impossible to control both of them, no matter how much I line them up they tend to eventually start going in separate directions, like account #2 would suddenly not line up and start swerving off a bit to the left - How do you get around this? I was playing in two windows in 800x600, in case some sort of latency issue was at play.

I then did the follow / assist thing which worked okay but it's not a pleasurable experience at all, you constantly have to babysit the other account. Isn't it possible to perfectly clone keys without those latency issues, so you can actually play both accounts or did I just get the wrong impression of multi boxing in general?

Check out that link. They've got all the information you need about dual-boxing.

I played a paladin and mage on 1 computer and it's actually not too bad. All you really need is Jamba. Set Jamba up so the "babysat" character automatically auto follows, shares and accepts quests, etc. Then on the paladin, i have 1 row of macros for paladin skills and the bottom row for mage skills which are all hotkeyed. Depending on your classes, you can use the same macros for both chars.

Typical engagement: hit strafe key to stop 2nd character from following, pull mob on main character, and push whatever buttons you need to kill. When dead, the 2nd character will auto follow and you can go do whatever else.

I wasn't really playing during the AQ era but I'm sure there were idiots back then,

Absolutely.

Think back to classic: the odds of you encountering a Full Tier 2/3 player on their main or alt in a 5-man dungeon was almost 0. We'd either farm live strat for orbs with other members of our guild or we'd ream the proletariat in battlegrounds. If we had alts that needed gear we'd bring them on runs with our guild. Pug BWL was non existent and pug MC rarely ended well (fire spawn! Kill the spawns! Kill the damn spawns! ?okay, run back!).

Now the barrier to entry is so low that you can raid on your main, hop onto an alt and pug a raid with that then, jump on a third and bang out a 10-man and a couple heroics in less time than many guilds spent clearing just MC (three days clears were common for the guilds that weren't capable of Tier 2).

The ratio of goons to skilled players hasn't changed at all. What has changed is the amount of interaction between players. You see way more of the player base today than you did back then because the game is way less stratified.

For people that think things are bad now - try and remember how many hunter's couldn't put away their weapons for class call. How many rogues couldn't avoid cleave or deep breath? What was the typical "still alive count" after Heigan and how many wipes did it take to kill Thaddius despite the giant DDR arrow? Eye beam? Watchful Gaze? People turning into draknoids? standing in Doomfire v1.0 on magmadar?

How many people couldn't be bothered to do Mara or would 'forget' their NR gear for Viscidus?

After getting riled up about possibly starting to play World of Warcraft again with the Neowinians and then getting bummed when there wasn't anyone available for some proper Recruit-a-Friend, my friend lured me on to a EU realm ( Kazzak PvP ) and actually manage to persuade me to start a Tauren Druid. I was sure I couldn't do it with regular bare-bone leveling but he managed to keep my hooked for long enough with some boosting here and there and plenty of gold, I reached level 28 in two days which is okay by my own standards, considering I don't play the game that much.

I just can't believe how fun the druid is, really. I had almost every single character in World of Warcraft to at least 70 and a Death Knight at level 80, the druid being one of the only characters I haven't even played. He is just so versatile, I genuinely thought this Jack of all trades malarkey would render him useless but boy was I wrong, he does excellent damage and tanks very well, stealth around the gankers. I am well impressed and having loads of fun

It just is disheartening to know you have to reach level 80, 70 was bad enough but 80 ... Arg.

I've made a new character on the Neowin guild server... "Moux" When is there usually someone on so I can get an invite?

I'll pop on for a little while tonight. I'm training until about 10:00 server time, should be on sometime soon after that.

EDIT: my characters can't invite to the guild so that doesn't help at all.

when is 3.1 meant to be released anyway?

One to two weeks away (Imo it'll be the latter). I'm sure most people are trying to fill up the missing gaps on their achievement list so they can get the plague or/and black drake before they become another Amani War Bear (the drakes are being removed as a reward for completing Glory of the Raider).

I am intrested in re-rolling it's just I started elsewhere before this got rolling.

Re-rolled to join a friend and now another friend is wanting me to join him and other friends on another server. Hard to level a few toons all at once.

Regarding the Neowin guild. Anyone of the member rank can invite. Any rate I promoted both your toons Evn to officer. You can do everything I can do, but I'm positive all members can invite.

No new posts, ehhh? Leveling that DK with my friend. Did 60-64 in like 5 and half hours yesterday. Leveling as blood, kill **** so quickly and need no downtime. I think I only ate like 5 times and that was all before soloing an group quest. It's actually pretty refreshing to not have to worry about so much. Wish all classes had this kind of ease when leveling. The plan is for me to hit 80, spend couple days in heroics/pugs then xsfer to another server (if that server is good to join some more friends), then once that happens him and I plan on doing RAF.

Basically, I'll do an account with myself and he would do one with himself. Create our 9 toons, and pick 5 to level. Level 'em to 10, then park 'em all outside of WC. He'll run my first group through till 20 or 5 times an hour comes up. Alternate. Keep doing this till all the toons are 20. Head to SM till 40, then ZF till 50 and DM to 60. Use the toons we just leveling to gift the other 4 to 60.

Going to be some work, but shouldn't be to hard and shouldn't take to long. Hoping to have it all done under or at a month. Then once they are all 60, we would just use spare emblems to get some gear for them to level through Outlands/Northrend. That's the plan at least.
