Was a fun ride, but I am not riding it down :)

I'll be buying my time until Diablo 3 or Star Wars: The Old Republic. :)

This is honestly the biggest let down in the years I've been playing.

Forget about all the nerfing and buffing of classes/specs.

I figured the whole making raiding just requiring a special monkey was the biggest letdown. :p

+1.

Switching factions is so weak.

If you want an alliance toon, choose alliance.

If you want a horde toon, choose horde.

I love this change, I can't wait for my Tauren Warrior, Not really due to laziness rather space, I have 9 chars on my server and only 1 space left and thats for a drood :D

Don't forget that you're talking to someone who's been playing this game since vanilla.

Since the 40 man raids.

Since Vashj was way over tuned.

Since Illidan never dropped one glaive in 3 months of farming.

Not saying my opinion is any more valid then anyone else's.

This "addition" just seems like a huge slap in the face for anyone who's been "hardcore" at one point or another, imo.

Surely it won't affect me, for I won't be playing, but, to put into an analogy;

It's like watching being a star wars fan from when it came out in 1977 and following it until 2008 then being told;

"well, some the Jedi Masters decided the darkside wasn't so bad, and some of the Sith Lords decided to do good for all, just for a change."

It's just not how it should be.

I've also been playing since Vanilla, my Original Character was a lvl 60 Shammy which back in MC days was Resto as that was the only spec were could/should have played back then if we wanted to raid.

Doesn't change the fact that as the level cap gets higher less and less people are going to want to start a new char

Right.. but, that's the point of an MMO.

If you want something out of the game, you work for it.

Over the past year more and more things have just been handed to the players, and WoW has gone from "Only the most dedicated players earn things" to "E.Z MOAD"

I don't think its the end of the game just yet.

I really don't think there's going to be that much of an impact of faction change. I don't think many people switch from PVE to PVP servers when they get a chance..

I think its going to be like a very small percentage, IMO.

Though if they announce a new expansion.. I think I am done.. right now I am playing out of sheer boredom of summer and no one seems to have any money to go out and do anything where I live..

I have a druid alliance side on a different server that I am currently play on and I switched to hordeside on a different server, I don't think I'll move my druid over at all though to horde...and move to a different server.. but thats just me personally

Now the only thing I see Blizzard could do that would be a cash bring is offering leveling services for $$

I think thats the only thing that they haven't caved in yet

As a later player I'm more excited about the lower level for learning mounts!

I have a 24 human warrior atm and I am already getting tired of just running everywhere :p

I agree. Even tho my char is 77, I think this is a great change. When I tried to get others to play that was their main complaint that at low levels you had to run everywhere that took so long.

Though if they announce a new expansion.. I think I am done..

Blizzard Trademark Cataclysm.

The Great Sundering or Cataclysm is what happened when the Well of Eternity was destroyed which became the Maelstrom.

Blizzcon 2 months away.

I have no doubt the next Expansion is going to be the Maelstrom, question is will be a continuation at 80 or 10 more levels?

I'd be casual by any measure today but in October I think you could make a case that I was a hardcore despite only playing a couple days a week. For me the transfer from horde to alliance or back doesn't bother me in the slightest.

If for whatever reason my guild decided "we need to be alliance for <X> reason" they could re-roll and be back in full tier 8 inside of two months. If they wanted to recruit an alliance player they could have him in a set of Tier 8.5 within 2 raid resets including time to power-level him.

The "cost" of rerolling was just an annoyance not a serious obstacle to overcome and didn't add anything fun to the game.

Imagine this being edited into the above post.

With Argent Tournament can I stay a Valiant with IF and earn 125 Valiant seals, then turn in 25 to become champion with IF.

Then become a Valiant of Darn and turn in 25 to be Champion, rinse and repeat till all factions are down?

I'm exalted with all, so I don't need rep from any of the quests.

prediction on faction change...since blizz has done a 180 on alot of stuff in the last yearish expect the no toons of opposing factions rule to fall by the wayside...makes their lives easier and generates alot more cash from the new service

That rule applies to PVP servers but not PVE, presumably to make it more difficult to gank & camp other players.

Just turn the seals in and move to the next faction. You will keep the Champion titles, plus there are two Champion's Tent quests that overlap the Valiant quests so you can do them more quickly. (Killing scourge and jousting outside the Citadel)

What I want to do, is have enough make enough Valiant seals so I can become Champion with all factions at the same time (basically same day) and then have nothing buy the Champion and, in patch 3.2 the Crusader quests. Only reason I need Champion seals is to get the pets/mounts which I can delay 25 days to start earning for.

    • For me, the fundamental problems with these "smartglasses" is that they really don't work well for people with significant prescriptions and massively up the price if you use attached lenses if they have displays, and if they don't, then they're not actually "smart" anything, rather just connecting to your phone and relaying voice to an AI. In a few cases like this, they throw in small cameras to feed video to the AI. All around, these feel like both a solution looking for a problem, and the problems it tries to solve seem more easily solved by different approaches and designs. Oddly, if the rumours are true, Apple may actually have invented something for once and it kind of does this right: put cameras in ear buds and manage the interface to AI exactly as most of us do: tapping on an ear bud and saying "Hey Google" or "Hey Siri." That makes them compatible with almost everyone, can double up as a hearing assist device, an impaired vision assist device, a "smart" device... and answer your phone and play music. That just seems like a better solution all around.
    • Usually the bigger ones with many fixes/changes take a few, theyre an exception to the rule most likely
    • If you don’t get lucky with Valve’s Steam Machine reservation system, you can make your own Steam Machine instead. Valve says that “starting with the SteamOS 3.8 release, you can put together your own Steam Machine using whatever PC parts you want.” SteamOS 3.8.10 launched last week with a slew of updates, including “improved compatibility with recent Intel and AMD platforms.” Alongside that improved compatibility, Valve is giving gamers the green light to install SteamOS on their own desktops. In an interview with The Verge, Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais said Valve has been “rolling out improvements to [SteamOS] so it’s more compatible with desktop hardware,” including eventual support for Nvidia graphics. Griffais says Valve has “a growing team” working on Nvidia driver support for SteamOS, adding, “We’re collaborating with Nvidia very closely.” While he mentioned that Nvidia support might not come this year, Griffais emphasized that “it’s certainly something that we’re working on in the background.”     Subscription not needed: https://archive.fo/Tssfc Subscription needed: https://www.theverge.com/games/953411/valve-steamos-desktop-nvidia
