You obviously have no idea how incompetent and inconsistent the support team is, my friend experienced something similar - His account was compromised, they returned his account but it was banned and they gave a similar response to the one you posted, he was told from a few guild-mates that's their course of action if they suspect trading of the account involving currency.

I am correct in saying my cd-key is now useless along with all the expansion keys?

If that is the case this isn't being dropped, I'm going to call instead it must be the retards of the earth who handle emails.

Unless they're willing to present their case to me "suspecting" means BS, people will get unfairly axed behind that and quite frankly as a paying customer I should be able to see the evidence presented against me.

If you were in Ulduar when it first launched, Freya had more trash. They actually removed like 4 pulls from there. :p

It was two pulls from the entrance since everyone walked in and died almost immediately after using the portal. :p

I've seen numerous people sell their account, go away for 5 months and still claim it back 4-5 times! Yet if someone claims it back immediately they've sold it? Nice logic. :|

Yeah your CD & expansions aren't worth squat now.

You can try calling them but what they will tell you is:

"We don't handle that here if you are inquiring about a banned account you have to e-mail us."

In short you'll never get your account back.

I've had my account Hijacked by gold farmers twice now over the past 3 years and not once did i ever receive an email from blizzard saying they expect my account to be compromised. But the first time my account was Hijacked it got banned. I was able to sort it out by calling them. In all the calls to customer services/tech support blizzard has been the most helpful.

Personally, I'm a Tauren Shaman, on the Magtheridon (EU) realm. I used to be a hardcore raider, completed everything. I just stopped playing immediately as WOTLK came out. Why? Because it didn't turn out to be as expected. But as for pre-WOTLK -- done everything, including Sunwell Plateau, pre-patched. Of course, I didn't quite only because of WOTLK's release, but also due to real-life business. But yeah, it's been great fun to play as a Shaman. Especially the role-playing part, even though it was on a PVP server. Unfortunately, the armory won't view anything special, seeing as my character has been inactive for quite some time. Here's the link anyway.

Moar info plx?

I gave it one more email, as I couldn't be bothered phoning 'India' and trying to explain the whole thing when all prior communication about the hacked account was done by email. If they hadn't removed it, I would of phoned.

I sent them another picture this time including my driving license and ALL game boxes/cd keys.

Greetings,

Thank you for your e-mail, and my apologies in taking so long in rectifying this issue for you.

I am writing to inform you that, after a careful investigation of your account closure, we have agreed to remove the permanent suspension of your account from the World of Warcraft servers.

This change has already been put into effect, and your account should again be available for play.

Should you have other questions or concerns, feel free to contact us again, via our webform: http://eu.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml

We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

Account Administration Team

Blizzard Entertainment Europe

Hello Nelmydwen,

Thanks for the response, but this news is quite frankly unsatisfactory.

Only a week ago I was emailed by your security team to confirm my account

had been compromised and everything was being reset and I would have control

of my account again. This new email from you completely contradicts what

the Blizzard staff were saying to me a week ago. That sort of communication

breakdown behind the scenes is unsatisfactory on a customer service level,

you committed to telling me one thing, then carried out another action.

I provided photographic evidence of my drivers license and original WoW

cd-key to your staff in the previous email, which you'll be able to see in

the forwarded email below. I don't know how I'm suppose to prove my

ownership of the game any clearer than that, so I've provided another photo

with all of my games and ID once more.

As a long time player of WoW and someone who has purchased each expansion

pack, I hope you're able to communicate with your other staff members and

resolve this. I understand the onus is on myself for letting my account be

compromised, which I apologise for the inconvenience, but as a player I can

say I haven't actively used my account for around 5-6 months. If you want

to know why that is the case it's because I'm a student and have had other

commitments more important than games for the last 8 months or so. I do

however plan to play again in the future, but unless this is resolved to a

satisfactory standard, I unfortunately will not be playing again and will

find it hard to support Blizzard products in the future after this level of

service.

If you are unable to help me can you please tell me how I'm able to elevate

this issue and speak to someone directly?

Once again please see the email I was sent only a week ago from your

security review below.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you,

Gavin

Funny thing is whoever hacked my account has left me with 6 days to play :p

Looking at that shows it was October 2008 last time I played :|

In news that may or may not be related, my card was done for fraud the other day, got phoned by my bank. Attempted ?30 phone top up and ?1.79 for a tester payment, I dunno if it was linked to this... Reason I wonder is it's a student account I haven't used since February, and the card has remained in my drawer since then.

That's great news man (Y) Has anything else happened to your account, new characters leveled, new gear, deleted characters etc. ?

Doubt anyone could have had access to your card, 90% of the card information is masked and completely useless.

On another note, I really, really want to get back into the game but currently have no one to start or play with, amazing how that can scare one away completely :/ They should hire some of all those gold farmers in some sort of "Fluffy Chinese Leveling Friend" program >.>

Is there any way to check out my characters without sitting through all the patches I'm missing?

Probably a good couple hundred mb if not more, I've not tried to load WoW in a few months.

Login on the forums or use the character transfer thingy-ma-bob to scroll through your toons.

Grats on getting hell to freeze over and getting that lifted! WB. :)

Does that mean you got a free copy of WoTLK too? :o

Nah I own that, I sent Blizzard a picture of all my expansion packs with cd keys showing and my drivers license. I would guess that helped my case.

edit: All my characters are there, whoever hacked it just played the hunter. Got me from 68 to 75 though :p

Certainly going to be exciting logging in for the first time, hopefully 'he' hasn't made a complete ass of himself on the server! They tend to run a lot of trade / profession scams on stolen accounts.

I'm not too bothered with the hunter, I re-rolled mage at 68 as I found being a hunter was getting boring. Mage is at 47.

The thing I'll be interested in is logging and and finding out what this guild are all about. Wonder if the person has just joined it, or the clans run by a bunch of users stealing accounts.

Hey maybe I can go raid the guild bank then quit :p

Well let us know what happens

Seriously considering starting again, rolling either a Mage or a Warlock which are pretty much the only classes I haven't played, else I have every other class past level 60. I just know when I hit level 20+ I realise how crap it is to have no mates to mooch constant boosts and gold off and then frown because I wasted the monthly fee :(

Wouldn't recommend it tbh. :p

Might as well get your hunter to 80 though (5 days worth of work), get a few badges (log on for 4 hours once a week to clear 10 man naxx for two weeks) and buy the heirloom shoulders for the 10% XP bonus to quests and mobs.

I've got a warlock almost at 71 and a mage doing end game content (HUZZAR Iron Council hard mode down tonight). I hate to admit it but I'm considering re-rolling lock.

They are more fun in PvP (haste trinket + fear = :>) and horribly imbalanced at end game. :p

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
