Questions about recruit a friend:

1. Does it require all new Discs and CD keys?

2. Can i Just create an email? Send the RaF key to that email, and dual box without putting in any information?

The way the refer a friend works is you send them a RaF code and then they will have 10 days to play the game for Free at that point if they purchase the game and 2 Months paid game time you will receive the free month and the mount and other things however they have to meet those requirements first

  1. [1]Purchase the Game

RAF must be a new account but that doesn't mean the game has to be a fresh install and you can use a trial version for the first few levels without the need to buy anything.

To get the RAF recruited account past level 20, to accept trades, recieve mail, and remove all the other trial limitations you'll have to upgrade to a full version (which can be done online, without getting physical CDs).

So I was accepted into a guild to raid in as an Arms warrior. First time being DPS since, ummm level 60. Ya last time I DPS was when I protected an Holy Priest in BG's from my guild who was going for R14 (she got it toooo) and ran with another warrior as a dual warrior combo when he was going for it (he got it to) and same process for another warrior and a hunter.

So had to enchant, gem all the spare gear I had saved up when i was actively raiding on my warrior. Configure my bars, keybinds and way of tracking to work well with my UI (heroics helped with this). Still tweaking the UI as a fight. Think I got it perfect. Just one thing I'd like to fix.

In my UI I have my healthframe in the top left corner and I leave it there as I really didn't need to pay attention to that. But as an Arms warrior I need to keep an close eye on my rage bar so when I know to perform various abilites. Anyone know of an addon that I move my ragebar, but not the healthbar and ****? Basically just want a moveable ragebar, without having to worry about a big addon or all my other frames getting messed up. (I use blizzard default).

Basically just a bar to put right next to my classtimer bars to monitor my rage bar more efficently.

Well, I use RothUI for mine, with a number of alterations to better fit my preferences. I like it simply because I can focus on what buttons are off of cooldown, have my health and runic/rage/mana/etc focused around my buttons, and my target in the center, keeping my focus a lot easier than having to looking all over the place. It's a rather big step to change your entire UI, which I can understand.

Perhaps IceHud would be better to your likings? Your health/rage or whatever surround you, allowing you to keep focus easier. You can change the way the bars look too, and it doesn't replace your party frames and everything else either. I believe, haven't tried it though, that you could probably turn off elements you don't want. Though, you're probably want to pay attention to your health just as much. Nothing like getting killed by standing in fire or something... :p

Hope that helps.

Just turn the seals in and move to the next faction. You will keep the Champion titles, plus there are two Champion's Tent quests that overlap the Valiant quests so you can do them more quickly. (Killing scourge and jousting outside the Citadel)

I wasn't aware that you could do Champion and Valiant quests at the same time once you reach Champion with a City. I understand what you mean now.

Blizzard finally emailed me back today confirming my account was compromised and reset my password, but now when I login it says my account is banned.

This account has been permanently closed and will no longer be able to access World of Warcraft.

Good departmental chat there Blizzard :/

Now I need to email them again and it will probably take another week...

Tried going to World of Raids, to check on 3.2 patch progress and was greeted by a Trojan warning from Avast.

I'm not sure what this means, but I know i'll be staying off there for awhile, keyloggers aren't fun. So yeah, warning.

Btw, /wave Holyenforcer, you're in my guild. XD

WoR was streaming live feeds of PTR testing. What could have (and might have) was one of the feeds was compromised and since it was loading on WoR load, you were being prompt'd for that message also. I just checked it and had no prompt'd, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Been working on my UI. Classtimers is a good way to track how long a debuff/buff is going to stay up, but it doesn't do much in alerting me unless I keep glancing at it. So I downloaded TellmeWhen addon which puts 4 buttons (wondering If I can make it bigger), so setting that up and seeing how it goes.

Also got the G5 mouse today, so working on the right senstivity and weight for me as well as adjusting to it. It's thinner than my last mouse.

I'm leveling my hunter to 80, hes near 78 now, maybe I can make the push for 80 today when the servers pop up.

Definitely. Hell, I got 79 to 80 in like... 4 hours? And I'm not much of a power leveler at all.

Make sure you're doing the Argent Tournament dailies if you haven't started already. Also, make sure to do The Oracles quest chain in Sholozar and the Sons of Hodir in Stormpeaks. Long but easy chains. Should boost your level immensely if you haven't done either yet.

Yeah he hit 80 yesterday. Specced him survival since I hear thats the best spec now.

I'm not really liking survival, harder rotation than BM. I'm only pulling out 1800-2K DPS(granted Im not hit capped and decked in greens/blues).

I just got done levelling my Druid through Sholazar Basin in Northrend. Such a beautiful zone my new favourite in the game by far. I'm a really slow casual player I usually spend weeks at each level but I stormed through Sholazar Basin it was so much fun playing in this beautifully vibrant zone that I went through the whole thing in a few hours which is rare for me. I should ding 80 tomorrow.

Okay so my account was hacked, Blizzard agreed it was, said they'd reset it, then closed my account permanently, and now are saying

Okay, no more money from me Blizzard. I'm guessing that means my cd-key is also blocked?

What a **** up that is, you'd of thought they'd document security issues on my file.

Sounds like they are suspecting you sold it, rather than it was hacked - They won't tell you that but I've seen a similar case before.

If that were the case they wouldn't of emailed me a week earlier telling me my account had been compromised.

Greetings,

We have reason to believe that your account has been compromised using a Key Logger or Trojan virus which can be used to obtain the account name and password of World of Warcraft accounts used on that computer.

Clearly a communication break down within security. I even sent them a picture of my cd-key/drivers license.

You obviously have no idea how incompetent and inconsistent the support team is, my friend experienced something similar - His account was compromised, they returned his account but it was banned and they gave a similar response to the one you posted, he was told from a few guild-mates that's their course of action if they suspect trading of the account involving currency.

    • GitHub removes manual model selection from Copilot free and student plans by Karthik Mudaliar GitHub is removing the ability to manually select an AI model from its Copilot Free and Student plans, making its automatic routing system the default and only way to choose a model. This means users on these tiers will no longer be able to deliberately select a particular OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft model for a task. In its announcement, GitHub said Copilot Auto will dynamically choose what it considers the best model for each request. Free and Student accounts will retain access to models from multiple families, although the available selection will continue to depend on the restrictions attached to each plan. GitHub did not identify a fixed pool of models that Auto will always use, and its documentation warns that model availability can change over time. GitHub describes Auto as more than a random fallback system. On supported surfaces, its task-optimization technology evaluates the complexity of a request alongside real-time information about model health and availability. Straightforward prompts can be routed to faster and less expensive models, while more demanding coding tasks may be sent to higher-cost reasoning models. The company says this approach should reduce rate limiting, latency, and failed requests. Auto generally selects one model along natural prompt-caching boundaries rather than repeatedly switching models during a session, as GitHub found that mid-session changes increased costs without producing sufficient improvements in output quality. Users can still check which model generated a response. In Copilot Chat, the information appears when hovering over an answer, while Copilot CLI and the Copilot cloud agent display the selected model alongside their output. Auto is available in Copilot Chat, Copilot CLI, and the cloud agent, with the exact implementation and release status varying between supported development environments. The latest restriction follows several months of adjustments to Copilot’s individual plans. GitHub temporarily halted new Pro, Pro+, and Student subscriptions in April as it sought to manage demand and service reliability. It later introduced token-based billing and began gradually reopening individual-plan registrations on June 17. Alongside the picker change, GitHub is retiring the “Preview” label from Microsoft-developed models. It argues that the label is no longer necessary because Auto handles model routing and models are continuously updated behind the scenes.

    • Google reportedly set to lose two key Gemini and DeepMind researchers to Anthropic by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly preparing to lose two more prominent artificial intelligence researchers, with Gemini contributors Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel planning to join rival AI developer Anthropic. According to a report from Bloomberg, both researchers are viewed internally as important contributors to Google’s flagship Gemini model family. Adler worked on Google’s AI coding efforts, while Pritzel was involved in the process used to train AI systems. Neither company has publicly confirmed the moves. The report also does not say when the researchers will formally leave Google or what positions they will hold at Anthropic. Training a large AI model requires decisions covering its architecture, data preparation, distributed computing infrastructure, and post-training methods that shape how the finished system behaves. Researchers with experience operating at the scale of Gemini are consequently difficult to replace quickly. Both Adler and Pritzel have previously contributed to Google DeepMind’s scientific research as well. They are listed among the authors of the company’s work on expanding AlphaFold protein-structure predictions across entire proteomes, alongside AlphaFold researchers including John Jumper. The reported departures arrive shortly after another important change within Google’s Gemini organization. Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving Google for OpenAI, after returning to the search company in 2024 through its deal with Character.AI. Shazeer is particularly well known as one of the authors of the Transformer paper, whose architecture became the foundation for most modern large language models. Anthropic, meanwhile, has been recruiting recognizable figures from other leading laboratories. OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla AI director Andrej Karpathy joined Anthropic’s pre-training team in May. His move, followed by the reported recruitment of several Google researchers, suggests Anthropic is strengthening the research teams responsible for the core capabilities of future Claude models rather than concentrating solely on product and enterprise sales. The competition is complicated by the companies’ extensive commercial relationships. Anthropic competes directly with Google’s Gemini models, but it also relies on Google as an infrastructure partner. In April, Anthropic announced an expanded agreement with Google and Broadcom covering multiple gigawatts of next-generation Tensor Processing Unit capacity. TPUs are Google-designed accelerators used to train and run large AI models. via Bloomberg
