On my druid, I leveled up as feral as I figured it would be the quickest & easiest way to go, and I really enjoyed it. But in instances it wasn't really as fun. So last night I decided to switch my DPS build to a moonkin build. The only gear I could use for it was my healing gear (plus the caster Brewfest trinket & the Venture Bay relic) and I was already doing 1800 DPS on the training dummy when my healing gear isn't even good enough for heroics. When I saw that, all I could say was "wow." And it's a ton of fun in instances compared to feral.

I dunno. When in instances, I find myself enjoying tanking as a druid a lot more, simply because... well, it's easy. Allows me to really stay focused on other potential "baddies" to ensure I'm the one with the aggro. Also, some tanks are just ****ing slow. I mean SLOW! It's like they want to set up a whole strategy on each individual battle. Not that I move too fast either. Some tanks simply don't know how to watch the healer's mana before making the next dive.

Oh I do love tanking a lot, just not on the druid. I'd much rather tank on my DK. I don't know what it is about bear tanking, but it's incredibly annoying to me.

Generally when i am tanking heroics i tend to have focus on my healer so i can constantly watch hit mana bar, I also tend to go with a guildie healer most of the time, as he knows the way i tank and can predict what i am going to do next so thats pretty good.

Tanked UK a few times on hc and i tend to pull the entire first pack on each sides and the patrols and aoe the crap out of them whilst tanking, i get some killing machine procs one after another and see 6k dps as tank whilst dps are managing around 3-4k i get questions asked. DK tanking is really easy and fun.

The thing with feral dps is that it has a complex priority system instead of your standard dps rotation. This makes feral druid dps pretty much the most difficult to pull off in the game. However once you master it you'll do pretty insane dps.

Been playing my DK since WotLK launch exclusively. With every single patch changing dynamics of DK (specs getting their strengths/weaknesses completely changed, going from different play mechanics every patch to have optimal dps, I started to get bored with it and picked up my mage I had left since BC.

It's been a blast. In 1 month of being 80, my gear is better than my DKs and have over 2400 gear score now from HToC, emblems, and Ulduar pugs. Pretty sad. :/

Opposed to being illegal in a non-law sense.

I think he meant to say not illegal in a law sense.

However technically when you come right down to it, I do believe it would be deemed illegal. Mainly because you subscribe to the game, you don't actually own any rights to the game. Selling gold is technically selling something that isn't your and could be argued as copyright infringement.

There is a reason eBay stopped allowing the sale of gold/items/accounts for MMORPGs some years back.

My fourth time running into The Confessor in H-ToC tonight.

I wasn't expecting anything.. I was kind of hoping to get the other guy, the paladin, for my bracers.. but when we killed her.. something very nice dropped.

Both a friend of mine and I in guild and I rolled for it.

I won it.

Marrowstrike

Binds when picked up

Polearm Two Hand

594-892 DmgSpeed 3.50

(212.3 damage per second)

+106 Agility

+101 Stamina

Yellow Socket

Socket Bonus +4 Agility

Durability: 120 / 120

Requires Level 80

Item Level 219

Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 57

Equip: Increases your attack power by 154

I dropped a Rigid Kings in, so I can get the +20 hit rating I desperately need .. and the pole arm is crazy nice.

One of my other very good friends in guild is going to be irked because he ran H-ToC like 20 times for it and it never dropped once for him once. Yet, I got it on my fourth meeting of confessor.

Equip: Increases your armor penetration rating by 60

I tend to raid quite a bit and my hit rating is sitting at 7% (in raids its 8% due to Dranei raical). I never miss. I did some experimenting by going even lower, dropping a +hit gem for +agi gem, was sitting around 6.5% and still did not miss when raid buffed. Its actually making me wonder how much hit i can loose for agi/arpen before i start to miss.

There is a 6% cap on hit.

Here's how it works:

On a same level mob, you have a 97% chance to hit by default. Every level below yours, you gain 1%, every level above, you lose 1%. If it is more than 3 levels above you, it starts dropping off. I don't remember the exact numbers for that. So 3% gets you 100% chance to hit on same level. Boss mobs are always your level+3, so you want 3% + 3% to always hit on them.

For PvP, your base is 96%, and everything applies from there. However, with PvP, you have to worry about all those other little stats that the other player has, but apples vs apples that is how it works.

That is so wrong. For PVE against a lvl 80 "Boss" mob the melee hit cap is 8% is for Main Hand/2 Handed weapons. Even then the enemy will still dodge sometimes unless you cap expertise.

All bosses are 3 levels above you (From Ragnaros to Anub) and all require the same caps to not miss/resist.

And I believe (speaking from an arms warr PoV) you want to cap expertise at 26 along with 8% (or 7% if Alliance with Dranei) to have all specials (yellows) hit.

    • If you have a TV in your living room, chances are you can probably just use the Steam Link app and play your huge PC in big picture mode, effectively giving you the Steam Machine experience to see if you'd actually like it. The good news is the Steam Machine can have it's drives upgraded. It has a USB-C 10Gbs port as well, so the 512GB drive could be quickly moved to an external enclosure and repurposed.
    • This machine could very well be a second gaming PC for their living room as a console experience. So we would have to assume their main PC exists as well; With that said, I have 10gb home network with a 2.5gigabit internet connection here so we tend to have more than enough speed to download games. However, we can't make use of the 10gb LAN using Steam's built in transfer tool because it always compresses transfers and that slows the transfer down to well below a standard gigabit port speeds, sometimes as slow as 200-300Mb/s transfers. While that's probably still faster than most internet connections anyway, if they'd fix the LAN transfer issue it'd be upto x5 faster even on a gigabit LAN, than simply dropping a 2.5gbe port on there with hopes of a few people having fast internet connections. There are solutions, work arounds, like using LANCache if you run a NAS... or simply copying the files over manually using a network share.
    • Samsung announces ultra-fast UFS 5.0 storage to supercharge mobile AI by Paul Hill Local AI models tend to run a lot more slowly than cloud services like Claude and Gemini; however, Samsung has just announced that it has developed its UFS 5.0 solution, which increases data transfer to speeds of 10.8GB/s, enabling faster storage and processing in mobile memory that has the potential to provide more optimal local AI experiences. Commenting on this development, Jangseok Choi, head of Memory Product Planning at Samsung Electronics, said: If you’ve tried local AI, you’ll know it can be quite slow, especially if using the larger parameter models. By developing this new solution, Samsung says that storage is evolving from just storing data to a core piece of infrastructure that supports AI computation, too. The Korean company said that UFS 5.0 integrates the latest embedded memory interface standard from JEDEC and achieves up to 10.8 gigabytes per second (GB/s) transfer speeds. Regarding write speeds, Samsung UFS 5.0 can reach 9.5 GB/s. Both the read and write speeds are twice as fast as those of the previous UFS 4.1 standard. Aside from being ideal for local AI, Samsung’s UFS 5.0 is more power efficient by 40% compared to UFS 4.1. Samsung achieved this by implementing innovations such as clock gating and multi-voltage technologies. UFS 5.0 is also ultra-compact at just 7.5mm x 13mm x 0.9mm; that is 16.7% smaller than UFS 4.1. The company said it will be bringing it to multiple devices in the future, including mobile, wearable, and extended reality.
    • A bit like the steamdeck, this probably isn't for you.
