There is my Hunter. Love playing as one. Right now i'm getting emblems to get heirloom gear for my Priest. Still undecided if I want to do heals or DPS. It's hard getting in to ICC now with a hunter, everyone is always asking for Priest/Mage/Lock :(

Really?, I do fine on my server. *shrug*

Not putting any more money into WoW besides the subscription, ever. He has a friend playing Alliance, so he's playing Alliance and then I'm playing Alliance - Bit of a Domino effect.

Although, I hope I can lure him into starting a new character on the same server, but as Horde instead. We talked about starting two new characters once he gets enough of Northend. So hopefully he'll be up to starting a Horde character, just to see something different, some different areas.

Not to mention you can actually mail Heirloom items from an Alliance character to a Horde Character if yours, if on the same server (Y)

( Also works the other way around of course )

If you're talking about me can you start a horde character on the same server???

I'll be up for that from a change with a buddy, I'd hate to learn all the horde places and what not on my own, which is mainly why I've stuck with Alliance.... and when I changed server my friend was Alliance. I've always thought the more immature people think horde is bad-ass but to be fair with 10m+ people you'll get jackasses on both sides.

Sorry I wasn't on last night, some complication with the relatives, pretty serious I wasn't even in the house.

Yes, it's possible on a PvE server.

As for maturity, while it's an unknown I'd say the general consensus is; Alliance players are usually more immature - Mainly because of the "Oh they are pretty!" aspect, which is why they added Blood Elfs to the Horde faction, to give them a "Pretty" race. From my own experience, it is true that Alliance seem a lot more immature but it varies.

However, only one little problem with the server we're on; there's barely any Horde players from what I've seen  So not sure how attractive it is to start a character there. We could always find us another place to start up.

And don't worry, I wasn't on either last night :p I got caught up in Mass Effect 2, slowly coming towards the end and it's getting real good now.

Either way I'd say the PVP servers are probably the worst for maturity, constant low level ganking and people just annoying the hell out of you - Okay it is a PVP server, you choose it, but it get's annoying when a level 60 is camping your level 30 body "for a laugh". I joined a PVP server first time I ever got WoW

That doesn't happen as much as what it used to on PVP servers, however when Cataclysm comes out, and epic mounts become the norm in Azeroth, expect alot of level 85's beating down on the starting areas...

I wasn't planning on a PvP server either but I do want to find another PvE server with a bigger Horde population (Y)

I'll send you a PM, got a few questions regarding this.

Yeah, many times the maturity level on PvP servers is in the sh---er. That's how I ended up on Emerald Dream (RP-PVP), as it seems to have the maturity and the PvP aspects I'm looking for, with actually very few RPers. The ones who do appear legit too, not just cyberfags like Argent Dawn. :uberhump: Plus, it's balanced quite well, with alliance having a slight upperhand.

Honestly though, as soon as I got used to a PvP server... it's really hard to go back. It's nice to be able to run people off from your territory so you can continue gathering in piece, as opposed to not being able to do jack about those taking your nodes. :p

Got Tribute to Mad Skill last night in ToGC 25, we followed that up with a 1% wipe on Blood Queen Lan'ietel. :pinch:

Missed that yesterday in 10 mans but 100k. Gave up once we used that 45th attempt.

Did manage to finally get around to doing a Sar 3d zerg. Stupid easy even when backpacking a sub-par DPS and an nub tank.

Hey guys. I am about 7 or 8 days into my 10 day trial of WOW. So far, so good, and learning somewhat quickly. However, a friend of mine has also recommended trying out Guild Wars, and he mentioned it doesn't have a monthly fee.

Any thoughts on the pros and cons of each?

Heroics serve no purpose now rather than gearing ppl for raids. There is no point in making them more pointless and time consuming.

Agreed the difficulty they had was replaced when you had full badge/T7.10 geear. The achievements related to bosses became easy once you had T7.25 gear (assuming your skilled and not the 800dps I kept running into in random dungeon with full ilvl 232 gear). I ran 'em once a day for 2 Frost Emblems and after that it's getitng more triumphs for more epic gems to use/sell. Running with three guildies (tank/healer/dps) I can do all heroics in 15 minutes max (the most delay being CoT cuz of RP) even if the other two dps can't break 1k. Making 'em faster if the best thing they can do.

Making 'em faster if the best thing they can do.

I disagree. I'd prefer they made heroics fun (and rewarding) instead of making them slightly faster to get through. If you run 5 heroics an hour you're still doing an hour of not-fun content.

IMO the best thing they could do would be to tune them to "Patch 2.0, Welcome to shadow labs: make yourself comfortable because you'll be here for 3 hours" difficulty and have them drop appropriate loot / frost badges.

I think they could start somewhere around the "5-manning Tier 7 raids" and scale up to "Remember when we said we'd never make another M'uru? We lied." Call it "Epic" difficulty or something. Leave "heroic" mode for badge farming 232 and have the new harder stuff assume you've got every possible heroic mode upgrade you can get.

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.4 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates. Diagram faster with keyboard shortcuts. draw.io Desktop 30.2.4 changelog: Uses electron 42.4.1 Updates to draw.io core 30.2.4. • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.
