haha i sold half the items i put up for auction and now sitting at 265g! woohoo! only 700 or so more gold before i can dual spec, and who knows how much more for flying in azeroth and then even more for glyphs, then even more for new bags and then even more for epic flying!

sadly i was so great at making money in l2, but i hate it in wow.

yeah bad time for the world to change for us "family folks" Since we have to travel everywhere for thanksgiving.... Also I am leveling up in a fantastic guild of old wow/army friends on US Nazgrel if anyone wants to join I would love to have you. We use mumble for voice chat.

BTW Tree, talk about Gold, my best friend just gave me 10k and said, don't worry about flying. :) I was like WTF. This after we used the RAF so I got a free rocket mount anyways.

and learn from) than suffer the embarrassment of having to say, "sorry, I was reloading my UI".

How many people do you know who reload UI in the middle of a raid encounter? Because if there answer is more than 1, find people who know who to set one up. :pinch:

Neowin server:

Quel'dorie horde.

Just about the 6 people in the guild haven't been on in a year. I got a toon set as GM, I'll invite anyone who wants it and once your in you can invite anyone also.

I was a part of that, so was evn. It'd be fun, but not sure I'd be willing to make a commitment to playing on that realm.

US americans celebrate it in november. Canada is in north AMERICA and we do it in october.

in canada we call people from the US americans, fyi. no canadian would be caught dead calling themselves american. not that we hate the US, but we have a bit of friendly rivalry, even though our cultures are very similar, with a few key differences that are often not really obvious unless you've lived for a good amount of time in both countries.

BS. Complete BS. The stock UI provides more than enough information about threat

I don't agree and I think you'll need to make more compelling arguments that "that's BS" and "You'll wipe because you're too busy typing /console reloadui".

Here are some pointed questions, I think I've provided examples of how allow you to make better decisions quicker but I'll try to make a pointed list you can address:

  • How do you make modifications to your ability use based on the availability of procs? For example, using Forté Exorcist allows me to see the internal cooldown of PotNL. On sindy's dragon trash I'll avoid casting DoTs that will be on the mob when the ICD is up because I don't want to waste the proc during sindy's RP. An additional 20 seconds of of 1200 spellpower (while under the effect of speed potions along with Power Infusion and with shadow fiend up) can yield an extra 150k damage in the first 20 seconds of the fight and due to the nature of air phase timers can be multiplied several fold (if you get your proc 5 seconds before airphase you'll basically end up wasting all of your procs standing behind an ice cube). The same is true for refreshing buffs during air phase.
How would using the stock UI alone allow me to make similar decisions.
  • Shadow orbs should be used only when you have mindblast off cool down and a 3 stack, sometimes, maybe. The stock UI will show you that mindblast is off cooldown and it will show you how many shadow orbs you have but they're located on opposite sides of the screen. Using mind blast on cool down is a DPS loss but so is not using it immediately after hitting 3 shadow orbs (in most cases). I argue that by placing these pieces of information close to one-another I'll more effectively be able to decide when to use mindblast. Further, I argue that by removing information about some abilities (hiding the stance bar for example) I'll more quickly qet the information I need. In addition the value of that spell varies depending on gear (people without 4 piece tier 10 mind blast on cooldown). At high levels of gear (4 piece tier 10, passively haste capped) mind blast is a DPS loss when you have any haste effect like potions or bloodlust and should be ignored until the effect ends.
  • Haste effects can be maximized by recasting dots immediately before the effect ends. If you recast an ability like vampiric touch 1 seconds before bloodlust / haste potion ends you can gain 2-3 'ticks' compared to casting it 1 second after bloodlust ends. Haste effects are not prioritized and end up in the huge list of stock buffs (hots, class buffs/procs, auras, flasks, food, etc). I argue that by making "unimportant" buffs less visible, and making these haste buffs very noticable you're better able to capitalize on your damage. I think it's a bad idea to split your focus between the top right corner (for parsing buffs/debuffs) the bottom corner (for cooldown on abilities like shadow fiend & mind blast) and the center (where the actual encounter is taking place). Do you think responsiveness is improved by spending more time not watching the encounter?
  • Shadow fiend should be used immediately off cooldown The cooldown on shadow fiend is unpredictable - it averages around 45 seconds but can be anywhere from 30 to 3:00 depending on the encounter and how much luck I have with crits. The damage of this ability trumps all others and delaying it causes further losses (mindflay can't lower the cooldown if shadow fiend isn't on cooldown). The stock UI offers no way to know when/if you can cast this ability, the only way to know is to constantly watch the icon in your action bar or to use some sort of alert system. Are you proposing that I check my action bars every cast to see if I can use this ability?
Are you arguing that related & important information is best presented in cluttered boxes at the edge of the screen - away from the area I should be watching for "react to this" moments?

I'm using priests as an example because it's the class I play most often and am most familiar but I can come up with similar examples for any class I play and I'm sure with some imagination you can do the same for your preferred class or roll.

I can go into more detail later, but for now I'd like to keep things simple and easy to reply to.

Here is some good news for some folks that have not gotten this yet.

From the 4.0.3a patch notes

Mysterious Egg now takes only 3 days to turn into a Cracked Egg and has a slightly greater chance of awarding the Reins of the Green Proto-Drake.

Also this made me laugh

Alchemy recipes now require Crystal Vials. Deathwing broke all the others because he's mean (or because he didn't want alchemists to carry 5 different vials around with them).

I might make a character on there, is it a high population server? Also, what faction? I really wish heirlooms were transferable to other servers :(

No idea why they would do the shattering,, as they have said whats not going in

Creating worgen/goblin characters

Worgen/Goblin start zones

Archeology

Professions past 450 (Illustrious Grand Master)

Guild leveling

Guild achievements

Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor flight

New Zones (80+)

Now, alot of the new zones from what i have heard are for the 80+ people, so they would be locking out the zones more then likly with boss elementals like they did during Vanilla releace with infernals guarding and roaming in the plaguelands that 1 shot people.

Unless they just want to give people a taste kinda thing

Oh, it does all make sense though. With The Shattering comes all new Cataclysm content, but you won't be able to access it because Blizzard didn't activate Cataclysm on the accounts yet. All those things you noted are IN the game, just not accessible to people without Cataclysm (= everyone for now).

There have always been content patches. It's not really free though :/ I remember that every time see the charge on my PayPal account.

Monthly service charges are not direct Content Patch charges.

General request:

Does anyone have a US horde server i could move to? My server (Bloodhoof) has a crappy population, alliance abso-freaking-lutely dominated PvP, and the GM of the guild i'm in has hated me since day 1 (long story, series of unfortunate events). I would be willing to transfer my 80 priest if there was a guild available, but I'm mostly looking for population and pretty even sided PvP.

The well-organized format ensures easy access to the required information. You can export all the gathered data to a plain text file, facilitating sharing with others for troubleshooting purposes. No installation needed. Just decompress the archive, launch the executable, and access computer-related information. Glow runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit versions. Glow 26.10 changelog: New Features The bootstrapping algorithm has been completely redesigned. The software can now launch directly without requiring TS Preloader. As part of this change, the startup splash screen displayed during initialization has been removed. In addition, spikes in CPU usage have been eliminated, resulting in a more stable architecture with significantly lower memory consumption. The Microsoft Office detection infrastructure within the Operating System section has been enhanced. Additional detection support has been added for Office C2R (Click-to-Run) installations. Furthermore, the license status evaluation system has been improved, and the priority order has been revised as follows: Licensed > Grace Period > Other (NOTIFICATIONS, EVALUATION, etc.). Glow now includes preliminary support for Wi-Fi 8 technology, allowing more detailed information to be displayed for Wi-Fi 8-compatible network adapters. Glow now provides full support for Bluetooth 6.2. Adapters supporting Bluetooth 6.2 can be analyzed in greater detail and with improved accuracy. The disk distribution view in the Disk section has been modernized, replacing the traditional table layout with a new 2×2 card-based design. The TS Custom Controls module has been updated to v26.7. Thanks to the new custom controls, all Türkaysoft applications now offer a more modern and consistent user interface aligned with Windows 11 design standards. Bug Fixes Potential line-ending handling issues in the Office detection code within the Operating System section have been resolved. Additionally, the output format has been standardized to UTF-8 to prevent character encoding issues and ensure consistent data processing. Several stability and file management issues within the Debugging infrastructure have been addressed. Problems that prevented new log files from being created after Debugging was disabled, as well as issues causing debug records to be lost, have been fixed. File deletion and reaccess issues that occurred after file locks were released have also been resolved. In addition, a bug that caused newly recreated log files to remain locked after deletion has been eliminated. Unnecessary blank lines within debug logs and the extra empty line that could appear at the end of log files have also been corrected. A shortcut key conflict caused by assigning identical hotkeys to both the DNS Test Tool and the Donation page has been fixed. The DNS Test Tool can now be accessed using CTRL + Shift + D, while the Donation page is available via CTRL + Alt + D. Changes The service responsible for providing the Public IP Address and Internet Service Provider information in the Network section has been updated to use the ipinfo.io infrastructure. This change improves the accuracy and consistency of the displayed data. (No external requests are made while Hiding Mode is enabled.) Some terms in the Dutch and Korean language files have been updated to make them clearer and more user-friendly. [TS Updater] Before the update process begins, users are now prompted to choose whether they would like to view the release notes. Note: Always unzip the program before using it. Otherwise you may get an error. Download: Glow 26.10 | 1.8 MB (Open Source) Links: Glow Homepage | Screenshot | Github Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
