so i was having problems again with the mumble overlay last night.

although i got it working earlier int he day, it failed to load into wow when i actually wanted to play in the evenining.

i noticed the overlay was showing up in wlm11 so i thought that might be the problem, and put wlm11 on the blacklist by creating a nooverlay file in the wlm folder. which did remove the overlay from wlm11 but did not make it work in wow.

i'm not sure what's causing the problem, and i don't see any tickets on the mumble sites related to it or how to fix it. google brings up nothing.

i tried disabling dx11 in wow again but that didn't work, and it was working in dx11 mode earlier yesterday.

if anyone has any ideas on how to get mumble to work with wow consistently let me know. :)

I've got it on all my characters by accident, just by questing :D

when i help people level i go out of my way and waste their time making them get it.

i forget the details of how to do it or which zone you get it from now though unfortunately.

i also have my staff of the archmage vargoth for RP which is the 1337est quest/vainity item in the game imho. my bro went and did the quests on his 80 preists to get it last night just for the staff. i noticed they nerfed all the similar quest items in wotlk to only work in certain zones which is a shame because i would've collected them for RPz.

man blizzard are taking their time removing the authenticator from my account, got a new phone and forgot to copy the pin or remove the auth before i got new phone :(

I emailed them and they took over a month without reply, re-emailed them, had it removed in 24 hours.

THEN they flagged my account as suspicious and made me reset my password 24 hours later

Ahh, the great staff ^^

For robot chicken: Kill mobs in Feralas, Tanaris (or Zul'Farrak) and The Hinterlands. In each zone there is one green-quality "This item starts a quest", OOXSomething Distress Beacon. When you've done those three escort quests, you can go pick your chicken up in Booty Bay, the quest is called "An OOX of your own". Enjoy!

Also, the pet is NOT soulbound, so if you get it on alts where you don't really care about pets, you can sell it for usually a nice amount of gold!

ahh right on.

i'm starting to wonder what's going on with these recruits. they don't jump in mumble or say much in /g and then /gquit the next day, like why even bother asking for an invite in the first place?

You can't expect everyone to chat in guild. in my raiding guild there can be 50+ people on and no one may say anything or an hour or 2. Maybe people join to check it out and if your guild seems like its not worth saying in they people leave. Thats the joys of having a guild people come and people go.

I still haven't decided hunter or druid as my main.

Advantages :

Hunter-

Rolls during raids are uncontested in my guild because we don't have any hunters.. and very VERY few enhancement shamans..

Pet to level with while I'm leveling.

I enjoy 'the hunt' and having something with me at all times.. in the form of a pet.

Druid-

I love transforming and having alt forms.. flight form will be amazing.

I like the versatility of the class.

I enjoy druid immensely, just as much as I enjoy hunter.

Disadvantages:

Hunter-

People always complain that hunters are to blame for extra pulls during runs..

No 'travel' forms, so extra expenditures on mounts, other than my initial mount because I'll be a worgen.

Having to fight for the pets I want and .. hunting them down.

Druid-

Contested roles during guild runs because we have other people who use the same stats as druids..

... that's.. it I think?

:| Argh. This is a tough choice.

Either way, I'll be a worgen and a leather worker and skinner.

^ I'd go for Druid (well my main is a druid so ...), I've played a hunter and while I love the class mechanics and overall "feeling" I HATE having to feed my pet all the time. Plus, if you like AOE damage like I do, Druid is just awesome : Barkskin + Starfall, wait for mobs to gather around you then Hurricane to death, it's just too much fun when you're farming leather.

I can't wait for tomorrow. New content will be welcomed. Going to be leveling my Warrior with the wife and then probably a Worgen Druid with her as well. Will eventually level the Shaman an the Mage.

    • This one baffles me...so they are creating a museum based around the Ship of Theseus? A museum is supposed to preserve things. It doesn't really work if the conversation goes, "I gazed upon Starry Night the other day, the colours were beautiful!" "Yeah...I didn't expect Godzilla to show up, though." Create a building devoted to displaying AI work, fine. The rainforest idea sounds interesting and I would consider visiting if they pay me a few bucks. But don't call it a museum...
    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.
    • As long as i get to play GTA 6 before it ends 😂😂
    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
