Does anyone know of a list of all the major things that were removed from the game? I've read all the patch notes but unfortunately I can't remember any major removals...

Talking zone-wise or feature-wise? Can't think of anything big feature-wise, and zone wise most stuff is actually still there, but it's in a different state. The original 1k needles is still there, but it's all under water. Camp T. is still there, but it's been razed. You can still see where places used to be, but after the Catacylsm they were mostly destroyed.

The issue is that lots of tanks cut their teeth on AoE tanking when it was so easy, and now don't know how to properly use all their abilities.

Step one of showing all the bad players and bad tanks off. Good players can once again get recognition outside of gear.

Either/or. Good to hear 1k needles is still there, absolutely hated leveling in that zone. ;)

i'm not really into pve videos but for a first go i'd say it was decent enough. i couldn't hear in game sounds at all though. i like the intro graphic you made/used. never been able to do that myself.

I'll probably practice a bit more for the next week or two - our guild is going to go a little more hardcore (ie: from 3 hours a week to 9) which was what we were playing back when we were somewhere in the top 50-100. With luck things will be recent enough to still be considered 'new content'.

Seems like game sounds get drowned out at < 1080p, so I'll have to play around to find acceptable settings.

So that was my first 'real' attempt at fraps.

The one thing I really hate about playing on windows is that there isn't an option to record just the game without your UI. There also doesn't seem to an easy way to record just game sounds.

Great video, I love it when people show their UI's, which song(s) are playing?

what a good pvp server with semi active world pvp with as little qq over stuff like faction balance as possible if any such server exists?

nvm we decided to just go with aegwynn despite a less than enthusiastic response in /2. can't be any worse than ravenholdt tbh. if all that happens is that alliance actually fight back when you gank them, then that's leagues about the old server.

and wow that transfer was so fast. like maybe 5-10 minutes after i hit submit. i was expected at least 3 days of downtime.

Question about ElvUI ... how the hell do I see what group I am in? :l

Press O and go to the raid tab :p

Or, if you're good at visually grouping items, the raid frames are arranged in order, so the first 5 are the first group and so on.

I swear YouTube is getting worse..could barely get the 1080p video to load and when I did the download rate was horrible.

I agree with that, and I'd be open to another video host. The one nice thing about youtube is enabling "large" uploads. The h.264 encoded version of that movie was about 1.5 GB and youtube seems to be the only site that will take videos that size easily. I'm open to other options if someone has a suggestion. I like the option to be able to upload 1080p just because it makes "tiny" elements like text in the chat pane or combat log visible.

Probably not that interesting for outsiders, but it could be nice for my guild analyzing failures in the off chance that Cataclysm raiding is actually difficult.

What did you use to make the intro?

That's just one of iMovies stock title screens - nothing special really. I guess you don't see that often because most people who play video games are probably PC users.

I love it when people show their UI's, which song(s) are playing?

The Narcotic Suite: 3 Kilos from The Prodigy's "Music for the Jilted Generation".

True, I think that YouTube is the only real choice if you want a free video host, but if you're willing to spend some money, you can use WCM or Vimeo.

Also, don't use bloody 1080p, it's a game, the most improved details would be text and it's hardly relevant in any video as important stuff will be displayed as CC and not in-game text, other than that the details are just sharper and clearer, which brings nothing to the table other than an inflated size and slower loading speeds.

Best you should use it 720p, the text is fairly visible there as well.

Oh yeah, I just read the first bit of your post about YouTube and the 1.5GB size.. and I'm seeing it just now that you posted about the text/chat improvements in 1080p :p So I guess you know all that.

This guild chat message from my GM made me laugh so hard at the time, not only because it was pure comedic timing, but it also perfectly represents his personality. I can hear him saying that in vent.

Damn, i want Cata to hit so i can start my Goblin mage!

half way through level 79, can't wait to get home and hit 80, ice storm or whatever it's called is boring me to death.

Do the ICC dungeons not appear until 80? I got a forge of souls dungeon quest as soon as i got to Dalaran but its not in the dungeon finder.

Are there any good guides online for help on what to do when you hit 80? i know i only have a few days before cata, looks like i'll miss out on the WOTLK raids?

    • Good. I hope more people sue them for focusing on this worthless junk.
    • How about fire the guy who approved all the bad decisions? The guy who bought these studios in the first place? Oh wait, Satya is safe with his billions while the workers pay the price.
