"Dimebag" Darrell Abbot Murdered on Stage

Recommended Posts

I guess that is one of the reasons why most bands suck these days?  I have never heard of this Dimebag fellow...  Perhaps young kids should listen to some real guitar players ie Stevie Ray Vaughan so all this new crap wouldn't sound the same.

If you've never heard of Pantera, I'm sorry. They're great. If you think he deserved to be shot, your attitude should be kept to yourself. Get the f*ck off my thread.

Agreed, though it's usually not as bad in Canada. I've been to a TON of gigs and they always pat u down for weapons and check your bag. Obviously they didn't do that at this concert and someone should be held accountable

I get searched at every show I go to. I don't know how this **** happened.

Most places around here pat people down, they just don't do it right. In general, the security guards are scared to pat other men down, or worried about intimidating women. Its been a problem for years, and weapons and other items get into concerts in many other ways besides the front gates. I don't ever see these kind of problems being solved, as all these venue owners are out to pinch every penny they can.

Did I say he deserved to be shot? NO, but when your name is Dimebag and you are associated with the scum of the earth your chances of getting shot are more than your average Joe. Of course I have heard of Pantera, never heard of this specific guy.

I only get searched at big venues. Clubs, no, not at all. I do hope promoters, managers, and owners get their collective **** together and demand better security. This shouldn't have happened. I feel like I've lost a friend. Jesus... it's so incredible.

Oh sorry, he was asking to be shot. F*ck off the face of the earth.

Do you think this guy would be alive if he chose to play in a country band instead of a heavy metal band and go by the name of Dimebag - hmmm....

No cause I'd shoot him for pussin' out on Pantera and playin' with a wussy ass country band to do a duet with f***in' Nelly or Garth Brooks. You needa shut up cause Pantera owned and had a lot more heart than any damn drunk ass whinin' country song. I come from the hometown of Buck Owens (the drunk) and country blows chode as do you and your idiotic opinions...

Big Tex has a point.  You can grow up and stop acting like a hard-ass.

585070222[/snapback]

That's no kind of point. I'm not acting like a hardass. I'm acting like someone who had one of his idols shot 5-6 times point blank.

I was just making a point, not saying that he should have been in a country band.

I am sure he made his millions and did plenty of drugs and sluts along the way. I hope that guitar skills and bank account are the only things you idolize in a punk like that, if not you'll have some serious problems down the road.

These boards have been of little use to me for the past six months. I empathize with those mourning this loss, but this will be my final post on Neowin. It truly has been overrun by garbage.

At least you can stand up and call your posts for what they are, good for you. Have you even read the trash that you have been posting?

This person was just a guitar player, big deal. No better than anyone else. People die everyday, that's life, get over it already.

Wow, I can't believe people are actually supporting the troll who thinks he deserved to get killed. Pure idiocy. Can't believe you think that since he played heavy metal he should have some how expected being shot in the face. You're a complete idiot.

This is truly tragic, and disgusting. Some people are truly sick. And some people within this thread are truly idiotic.

this can't be, friend of mine just told me he died. i was like oh, some serious sickness or stuff. then i read he was gunned/shot down

rip.

Hmmm, so Lennon got shot because of why. Nice logic. And you say real music like Stevie Ray Vaughn, how about you picking a real football team to follow then talk.

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
