Well I finally got my PSP

THIS SUCKS!!!!

The one I got has firmware 1.51, not 1.50

I also thought that the SD cards would work with it, THEY DON'T!!!!!

I have a ONE GIG card that I CAN'T use with this system. The guy at Best Buy said it would work with the system, it doesn't fit in the slot.

My computer doesn't even recognize it as a removable hardrive when it's in the usb port.

I said it once and I'll say it again: THIS SUCKS!!!!

Thats due to the crack you smoke..

Whos going to spend 250 dollars in something wihtout knowing exactly what it is..

Not knowing PSP didnt use SD cards really shows you just saw a pic of it in the net said "cool im gonna get one" and bought it.

I opened the address bar, but circle closes the menu on mine. I'm not referring to like text entry at google. I mean I'm trying to put in something like: www.Article1/something.com. In the address bar text entry it doesn't include the a/A button

a/A is not available on the address text entry.

Yeah, that's why I was having some trouble

One way I found around that is to try going to a site with the capitalized words you want and then modify it into the site you want to go to. However Sony really should of added this before releasing the browser; among other things.

Why the **** does everyone always compare PSP to Nintendo DS!? First of all, the DS was designed for straight up gamers, not people looking to turn a game system into a Palm or equivalent. Incase people don't know, Nintendo is for real gamers, and intends to always make the greatest games, games that will stick with you, just like they did when NES first came out. Hardcore gamers always know this (being one myself) I've grown to know that Nintendo makes the most sturdy, unique, and greatest gaming systems, although Nintendo isn't my favorite gaming company (Sega is), I still know their games are great.

And my opinions on the PSP: Great for a multimedia system, videos/music/chat (maybe?), but as a gaming system, the graphics are good, ALMOST comparible to a PS2, ALMOST, but the controllers that sony make will always be the worst in the universe. First of all, they've never had a D-Pad, they tried to step into the future with their "unique directional controller", well when a direction on a pad only has 4 directions (4 arrows), I doubt it's as accurate as any other controller that's out on the market, even the N-Gage GD's controller was better. Try doing a Half Circle Foward (HCF) on Darkstalkers for PSP, impossible almost!

I do say the wireless on PSP is grand, there's no lag whatsoever, that's a good feature, but DS does that, and been doing that already. I've also noticed that the analog stick on PSP is like the dumbest **** I've ever touched, seen or used. It's like controlling a PSone with an Etch-A-Sketch.

Well that's my rant, a rant from a hardcore gamer since 1983.

If you feel that I'm a fanboy, or that I was a bit harsh, well:

1. I don't have any next generation system, I'm broke right now, and love my PC

2. I am harsh toward systems that try to compare to other systems that are totally out of their league

Sony PSP = Multimedia System

Nintendo DS = Tru' Gaming

o.k. the first bit is totally wrong. In fact, you couldn?t be more wrong even if you tried. If you had bothered to read Nintendo's Press releases, they stated that the DS is going to be developed like a Palmtop Computer. their next handheld console (which is out at the first quarter of next year (or so I remember from the last press release I read)) is going to be a true gaming unit, with game-cube quality graphics. End of the day, we have opinions in excess. Your bit about the Analog stick on the PSP. great read, but no one cares. I?m sure there are people who have tried the DS think it is the worst thing on this planet.

Also, the little bit about the PSP being a Multimedia System is correct. It is. But so is the PS2, and lets look at the amount of sales they?ve had compared to any other console on the market. add the Nintendo to the Xbox and even stick on Dreamcast sales and you don?t even come close to Sony?s PS2 sales. Doesn?t that say that they just ?might? have it right. Whether the PSP will take off in this fashion is anybody?s guess right now. Certainly from the manufacturers point of view, UMD movies are going to be a big thing.

In all fairness, you can?t really complain about the PSP being a multimedia system and the Nintendo systems not. I remember on my last visit to the US that the Nintendo GBA?s and above were going to have movies released for them on cart. I personally saw a anime being played on a GBA in an EB store. Additionally, the DS is having a MP3 option released for it.

Its another long chapter in the great 'Sony Vs. Nintendo' debate. don?t add more fuel to the fire by trying to bad-mouth the one you don?t like. just accept that there are people who like and dislike both platforms. If you don't like the DS, dont buy one. If you don't like the PSP, dont buy one. Simple as that

Well, after reading that entire lengthy bitch-a-thon, that's all I need to quote to sum up how wrong you are. I'll try and save Neowin some server space and not quote all the other horrendous inaccuracies.

Oh, and I'm a DS owner with no current plans to buy a PSP. Just so you know, in case you decide to throw the fanboy argument at me.

Though I will answer one question for you.

Why the **** does everyone always compare PSP to Nintendo DS!?

Because they're both handheld games consoles? Wow, that was really difficult.

if anyone near manchester wants a PSP on launch day, n doesnt no anywhere that has stock, John lewis in the trafford centre has loads that are not reserved, becos there was no pre order scheme! theres not a MASSIVE amount, but enough to last till about 12PM i think :p
