What do you drive?

she just runs.

I got the windows blacked out about 5 months ago. It was somewhat of a rush job during the guys lunch break, so we didn't have time to take off the old factory tint, so they are REALLY dark.

if you had those windows here the cops would put X's in them with razor blades :(

I'm not a speed demon. I need something to do work with. So I bought a new Toyota Tacoma today. The quality of Toyota trucks is just unparalleled. I still have a 1991 Toyota truck (single cab) with 300,000 miles, and it still runs great. Anyways, my new truck was pricey ($21,434 + TTL etc) but at 2.9% for 60 months, and the rarity of these in my area, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Nice!^^

and i really want to see what mileage you can achieve with this! :p

I don't think I am going to do that well on the first tank, but I am hoping to achieve 40+ MPG.

It's the 2008 Honda Civic LX model.

I installed a ScanGauge II a couple days ago so I can monitor my economy at any moment and make adjustments.

I highly doubt you will get 40+ MPG unless you live in 100% flat grounds and go on highway all the time.

I can consider myself a hypermiler, mixed city/highway in a pretty hilly place. I have a 07 Civic LX 5 speed manual like yours. I rarely makes any stops unless all necessary (Because a full stop to reacceleration will consumer more gas), turns off my car at long lights when I actually do stop, accelerates at optimal speed and keeps my engine at most efficient RPMs almost all time, uses cruise control often and travels at constant speed, and uses gravity to accelerate when possible and puts the car in gear so it goes at constant speed and the momentum of the wheels will drive my engine so it doesn't consume gas when desired speed is reached. When possible I also follow large vehicles on the highway and last time I checked I 'only' got 38MPG (6.3L/100km).

You're one of the few americans who drive a manual gearbox :D

lol, it was so hard finding a manual car on the lot to test drive. Every time I asked a dealership if they had a manual they looked at me funny.

And if they did have a manual it was only one car.

That's funny, because if was soo difficult to find an Automatic vehicle when I went and bought my truck.

lol I would have thought North America would be pretty close in their love for auto, but interestingly here in Calgary, Honda, Acura, Ford, Audi, VW etc all had manuals on the lot for test driving. The only car dealership that I've been to that doesn't have a manual of the model I want was Nissan with the Altima Coupe. (BTW I don't plan to buy any of those cars. I just test drive them for fun. :p )

i went to 7 Nissan dealers looking for that... have yet to find one.

Just filled up:

Date (M/D/YY): 10/22/2008.

$/Gallon: 2.699

Gallons Purchased: 8.957

Miles Driven: 345.0

MPG: 38.5

L/100km: 6.1

Total Cost: $24.17

I definitely can break 40 MPG. The car only has a little over 400 miles on the odometer. Once the engine is broken in I think I'll do better.

WHAT THE ****!!??

and there i was this morning excited to have found a shell station that was $3.25... filled up for $50, got something close to 370miles ~ 24.6mpg.

can you mail me some gasoline? lol

rofl!

The same gas station had 87 for $2.589 today.

AHHHHHHH!

I wouldn't have saved any money by waiting though. From home to school and back is around 62 miles.

(345.0 miles + 62.0 miles)/(38.5 MPG) x $2.589 per gallon = $27.37.

Would have spent more.

Do you normally stick to a certain 'brand' or do you go for the cheapest you can find?

I only use Shell, Mobile on occasion. There was an arco across from the Shell i went to today, their price was $3.12 but i didn't even think twice about going there.

I've tried them all, Valero, Chevron, Conoco 76, Arco.... Shell and Mobile give me the best mileage.

I tend to use Mobil, Shell, and Citgo.

I'm learning to drive at the moment in a V Reg 1300 Rover 25. Not the best car in the world but it suits me for a first car, i have my test on the 19th of November and i have about ?3k lined up to buy a new car, i'm hoping for something along the lines of a Volkswagen Golf or a Renault Clio.

    • This 4K webcam from Acer is now only $59.99 by Taras Buria Those looking for an affordable, high-resolution webcam from a reputable manufacturer can check out the latest deal from Acer, which puts its 4K webcam at a solid price. Thanks to a 14% discount, you can buy this all-metal 4K webcam from Acer for just $59.99. Despite the affordable price tag, the webcam has a pretty large 1/2" CMOS sensor manufactured by Sony. Apart from its size, it supports additional conveniences, such as high dynamic range and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Plus, the camera ensures you do not have to buy additional audio equipment, as it comes with two built-in high-sensitivity microphones, a built-in background noise filter, and the ability to pick up your voice from up to 2.5 meters away. Acer is not cheaping out on materials, and the webcam is enclosed in a more premium metal case, which is also good at heat dissipation (high-resolution cameras can get quite hot). And to make sure no one is peeping at you when the camera is in use, there is a magnetic cover also made of metal. Additional conveniences include an LED status indicator and a built-in mount that lets you place a camera on a tripod.
