Friend getting me mad about cars..

Recommended Posts

A friend in my city got a Dodge Viper 2005, the first I think in my area to get that kind of car. Most people that have fast cars or think they have fast cars drive Honda Civics. Well I told a friend about my other friend getting a Viper and all he can say is that the car is slow and that his civic can smoke it. I'm not saying that the civic is slow because he can do a quater mile in high 12's but comparing a stock vtech civic motor to a vipers 500HP motor is no contest. Or is it. Am I missing anything from this?

you should've posted this in AutoBahn.

anyway a '05 Viper is nice and very expenisve. I personally won't drag it. So there's no competition against other cars in how fast the car is.

the civic guy obviously knows how to push your buttons.

...goosfraba...goosfraba...

on a raceway he did very high 12's around 12.8ISH. The thing is that he played around with his ECU and the vtech is always on instead only kicking in after 5.5K RPM.

Must have been a 1/8th mile. And I don't think you can even "turn Vtec on all the time". If I'm not mistaken it is designed to maximize torque at low RPMs and top end at high end trhrough some kind of timing scheme.

People that believe Honda's are race cars spend to much time watching that "one" video on Kazaa.

That would be excluding the NSX. :)

Wow... hold on.

some idiot is saying his STOCK [oh wait he "fiddled with the ECU" and added cold air intake [woo an air-filter] and other useless crap] Civic will beat a Dodge Viper...let alone a NEW 05 500BHP V12 weapon...

ok this kid is very very retarded bro...you need to tell him "Sn00pY said your an idiot and need to go drop your pants and spank your own balls HARD for being such a fool..."

reagrdless if he had a huge turbo etc... the Dodge Viper is 500BHP - yes its HEAVY in comparison - but power to weight ratio is not an option here when dealing with such BHP difference...

go tell your friend to try "SLI" his civic with another - thats the only way he's gonna beat a Viper [yeah its meant to be funny...this is a tech site haha? :ninja:]
