Some things about Internet Explorer that people want but it already has:

--Standards Support

--> It supports HTML 4.0 perfectly in strict mode in IE6. The web developers have to tell it to use strict for it to work in strict, and many places where IE6 is "broken" is only because it is being forced to render in quirks mode. However, they do need to upgrade its support of the standards.

--User Defined Stylesheets

--> Been a feature since IE 4.0. It just isn't advertised to well ;).

Internet Options, General tab, Accessibility button. See the User defined stylesheet area? Yep, been there forever.

Not enough choices for the poll IMO.

I'd switch ONLY if IE7 had tabs, adblock, mouse gestures and had fixes to issues like png transparency support, CSS rendering, DOM and DHTML issues; OR if MS bought Firefox/Opera/KMeleon and called it IE7 :)

ZeroHertz speaks the truth. :)

Actually, when IE7 comes out, I'd probably use it for a while and then run Ad-Aware to see if there's any junk. Using Firefox has really made Ad-Aware have nothing to catch, so this will be a test for IE7.

But really, they need to not allow script/coding errors to continue and stuff like that. I don't have a problem with IE7 being more strict with coding at all.

No.

Because as soon as IE becomes as popular as it once was, then Microsoft will just stop development again.

I like Mozilla. They care about standards support, they care about user feedback, they care about non-microsoft platforms, and they have a much faster development pace then IE does.

The poll doesn't offer the right options - for me I would switch back if it was a better product, but not just because it is "IE". I use Firefox because it suits my browsing habits, but I would happily switch to another browser if it was more practical.

Well we can all dream of Microsoft creating the perfect browser but, now it's time to come back to reality...? :D

first i wonder why anyone cares about who uses what browser

second i use many browsers and i generally like most of them....

Netscape8 is a good browser. i've just downloaded it and I'll give it a positive review.. It's more resource intensive than firefox but it has a clean design and is overall appealing and without adware or those annoying download AOL links everywhere.

ZeroHertz, more options? personally I think theres too many options in this poll, it needs to be simple, and to the point

IE 7?

x I'll try IE 7, it'll become my main browser.

x Probably try IE 7, but will still prefer using alternative browser

x Continue to use Existing/Alternative Browser

but thats just me :)

IE 8.0 is out? the way this thread was started, I was beginning to think i missed something.......h*ll no! Why go backwards? Mozilla FireFox 4 me, all the way, baby!!!

(smart *sses insert opinion here)

I will only switch if IE7 is exceptionally good, at the moment I consider FF exceptionally good, so IE has pretty big shoes to fit in.

I'd convert if it was standards compliant, more secure then FF, and overall more customisable and better.

Slim chance of that happening tbh.

while I don't remember where I read it but I did read that CSS2 support was only going to be partial at best. .so imo I'm not even gonna bother with it. .for casual 'net surfers web standards really don't matter much ..only for developers .. but as long as MS doesn't get on that bandwagon people are still gonna have problems with sites displaying properly. We shouldn't have to wait for Longhorn for IE to be separated from the core of the OS like it's been since 98SE...yeah you can remove IE but you can't even use add/remove programs ...for those that don't know when you open add/remove programs it's all html...You can get hit with worms and viruses even using a different browser only because IE is installed everytime you install Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 and now XP ... MS shouldn't have waited this long to separate IE from the OS .. but they have and it's been a wait that's been going on too long

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display.
