just got symantec antivirus corporate v9.0.0.338, the scanning is much faster compare to v8. i guess symantec still make the best antivirus. :)

i use nav v7.5 corporate editon for my network.... and NAV 2004 for my personal pc...... both work fine

Using AVG. Love it! Best I've ever used. Plus it's free! Even better!

I use F-Prot Antivirus.

I have tried Norton Antivirus and kept it on my PC for over an year long (without reinstalling) - it worked fine, though it seemed to slow down the computer at times + it had a preety "heavy" interface.

F-prot is simple and it features all the basic (and actually needed) options. It has a scanning tool to check your drives, a real-time protector to detect any threats in real time, a scheduler to program tasks like drives scanning or online updates + the interface is not "heavy" on graphics an all kinds of visual effects. I also heard that it has one of the largest virus databases of all antivirus softwares.

i have NAV 2004 on my desktop & NAV 2003 on my laptop.

on a slower machine 2003 feels faster n less bloated so i think i will be re-installing 2003 to my dtop

I definitely prefer AVG over Norton. Norton never seemed to catch ANYTHING, whereas AVG catches everything instantly!

Mcafee with drive exclusion is all the way :) Doesn't slow down my PC at all and perfect scanning.

How does CPU usage and memory usage compare to Old version?

And What is the difference between Exchange plug in and The pop3 / imap plug in?

I'm on SAV CE 8.1 at the moment, but now that 9.x is out I might use my Gold maintenance to upgrade for free.

Any obvious benefits like better interface etc etc??

the memory and cpu usage is around the same.... i dont feel any different on my machine. about the email plugins i'm not sure myself but this version the email scanning does work with thunderbird.

Well, well...NAV Pro blows it again!!! :angry:

My home machines had been upgraded to McAfee Enterprise VirusScan & Symantec Corp., but one of my computers in my work office was still running NAV Pro & NPF 2003.

With up-to-date NAV virus definitions, I picked up an ActiveX Trojan and NAV won't even detect even when I tell the fat, bloated POS where to look!

Trust me, if you're one of the sheeple blindly following Norton products, your time is coming!!! :devil:

BTW, I did a test with McAfee Enterprise VirusScan & Symantec Corp. installations on the same webpage that attack my NAV Pro system and Symantec Corp. didn't detect it either!

Only McAfee Enterprise VirusScan 7.1 with up-to-date definitions caught it, and stopped it dead in it's tracks...
