Sup neowin buddies.

Question as usual. Using clist_nicer, is there a way to get rid of the contact list border?

Yep there is. If you don't already have TweakUI, download it from here.

Then once you've put it into your plugins folder go to Plugins->TweakUI->No border then restart Miranda

How can I make my Miranda to pop-up THE messages that comes to me? I don't wanna just a "baloon" next to the clock...

Options->Message->Message Window->Tabs and Layout

Under Message tab and window creation options check the Automatically pop up the window/tab when a message is received.

This is driving me nuts... wanting to perma-switch to Clist_modern_layered, cuz it looks so amazing... But is there any way to get your contacts in alphabetical order? I'm sure it's most likely staring me in the face, but I'm missing it so far.

Assuming you have the latest Miranda (http://blog.miranda-im.org), open up Miranda options -> Contact List, then in the "Contact List Sorting" section, just change the 1st dropdown element to "Name"

I have a problem. Before i could see my buddy typing (typing notifiication) but now i cant see the little icon appearing in the chat box when my buddy is typing. I dont know what happen.

I've already enable Show Typing and have everyone checked, but no luck. What else am i suppose to do?

Does the little icon normally appear on the bottom left corner of your chat window?

Yes, and also in the title bar. But i had to reinstall miranda completety a few weeks ago, and now i cant get typing notification from the people in my buddy list like i use to.

I'm not sure about the titlebar. Didn't even know that was possible but assuming you use tabsrmm, is it possible that you've selected "Hide the status bar" in your container options?

EDIT: Found out how to display typing notification in the titlebar of your chat window (Again, assuming you use tabsrmm)

Options->Message Sessions->Message Window->Containers

And in Default window title format where it probably has %n - %s, type in %M.

More variables to stick in the title bar can be found at this link

Yeah. I tried downloading it from different sites, so I should have a non-corrupt file. I have the latest stable version of IEView.

Does your Longhorn folder have an images folder in it as well?

Your message box looks like it does because the .ivt file doesn't know where the images it refers to are. Either you are missing the images folder completely, or it's not where it's supposed to be.

It has stuff like hdr_black, hdr_green, msg_glass folder in the images folder.

I solved the problem.

It turns out that I have to turn on 'Allow Active Content to be run under my Computer', I turned it on, and it works perfectly.

Thanks anyways :D

That doesn't sound like a Miranda option...where did you go to turn that option on?

Does anyone know if other IEView templates require that option on?

Argh, now IEview isn't working properly. When a  message is recieved, the window doesnt scroll down automatically to show the latest message, I have to manually scroll it down every time I get a message, and most of the time the window doesnt flash as it should. Are there some settings that aren't set properly. I have the latest tabsrmm and ieview plugins.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
