Tiger has gone Gold

iPhoto and iMovie don't come with OS X.  They come with iLife.  If you buy a new Mac then you get iLife for free.

Read my post above yours. iPhoto and iMovie (older versions) do get installed with OS X (Panther at least). Not sure at the moment about what versions (if any) are included in Tiger, since I did an upgrade install.

Why ask flame bait? If you can't add anything that is helpful or worth reading, don't post it

I can't wait for Tiger's release :woot: Thanks for the news (Y)

Me neither. Hopefully Apple announce the updates to their product range at the same time as they announce Tiger. Then, hopefully I shall be enjoying Tiger on a 2GHz, 20" iMac G5 :)

As roadwarrior said, Panther did include both. And all the preview screenshots and videos at www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/ display their icons in the dock.

I stand corrected. Sorry 'bout that.

As for IE for OS X, Microsoft said they arn't going to release any more major updates. See here.

Yeah, but even though Microsoft had declared that in June 2003, Internet Explorer was bundled with Panther (released in October 2003). So I'm wondering whether it's gonna come with Tiger.

One of the reasons Mac OS X may be destined to include IE forever is that without IE, apparently all the Microsoft fonts, like Arial, Tahoma or Trebuchet MS, are unavailable (if you perform a clean install not followed by MS Office installation, that is). Read about it here.

Nice use of the capital letters and the horrible punctuation.

Anyway, Tiger will perform extremely well except for a few of the Core component tasks. Fancier things will either not happen or will be loaded off to the CPU. All in all, Tiger is faster than Panther, and Panther is already very fast on a Mac mini.

Well don't be so sure, build 8A425 is pretty bug-less. And 8A428 is just one build later, has it been released to developers yet btw?

It has gone gold, that has been confirmed. Most ADC members that I have talked to said it had something to do with the Pope and the delay.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Radish?
