Google plans to double Gmail capacity

G is for growth

Storage is an important part of email, but that doesn't mean you should have to worry about it. To celebrate our one-year birthday, we're giving everyone one more gigabyte. But why stop the party there? Our plan is to continue growing your storage beyond 2GBs by giving you more space as we are able. We know that email will only become more important in people's lives, and we want Gmail to keep up with our users and their needs. From Gmail, you can expect more.

From new features! :/

I've got the Rich Text Formatting ...

And I've noticed, that my Inbox has grown 2MB in size over the past 3 minutes ...

Wow?

Heh, I did the math.

Given the rate of change down thr the exact amount of seconds in a minute, I came up with 5.0 megabytes a second. Seeing how there is 60 minutes in an hour and 24 hours in a day, I came up with 1440 minutes.

Now, 1440 minutes x 5.0 mb per minute = Roughly 7200 megs or 3.5 gb of space.

Now, i may have been a little off, but expect that number to hit in the low to mid 7000's by midnight April 1st.
