Second time I have asked this (Didnt want to make a dedicated thread for it). Does anyone know how to make Opera at like 7.54 with tabs, as in when you click on a tab it minimises it? Doesnt seem to do that for me.

there are small x and - buttons under the main window's close minimize bittons, try those ;)

Everyone who is complaining that Opera is slow compared to your current browser...

Remember that in your current browser, you have a cache already built up from your commonly visited sites. Visiting those sites in Opera is of course going to be slower, because of the lack of cache.

np dude. enjoy (Y)

I used the key on beta ver of Opera 8 and it worked. I installed 8 final on top of it and now the ad bar re-appears and the key doesn't work any more.

May be I have to do a clean install for the key to work.

The way I have it set up is like this. Before (7.54) I could left click on the tab and it would minimise and show the grey background. Now clicking doesnt do anything on a tab.

Ok to all who realllyy need to use v8 with the key use this version : http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl?id=26542

Apparently the last beta of v8 supports the keys very well. But the final v8 works for some and dosent for others....

well in the email it says it for version 7.54 ("Registriercode f?r Opera 7.54"), guess some people got lucky....not me, so i will hate you all who did get lucky  :pp

you can use v8 beta 3 which is v8 final virtualy and the key will work for sure....

I don't like the X. Anyone knows how to get rid of it?

btw, down+left for your mouse gesture to minimize the current window.

Slow? :s Opera is one of THE fastest browser out there, been proven multiple times by various benchmarks, definitely faster than firefox.

If you say it's ugly, then obviously you didn't customize it to your liking, which Opera is good at.

Edit: Even at rendering pages, Opera is definitely a lot faster, there are redraw rate settings in prefs.

Opera doesn't render every page faster. That's definitely a myth. I've seen numerous occasions when Opera slowly renders and loads a page. Sometimes the pages don't work at all.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
