It was North East because in the picture of the wind turbines close were the 4 and in distance you would see the rest of them meaning it had to be Noth East or just East I put. ;)

Now i know why people complain about how easy GCSEs are they really are so simple. Chem this morning actually a piece of cake, biology before was a joke....what do they expect of us, I'm predicted 8 A*s and the rest A's got A* in Maths a year early as well as an A in French last year hehehe. In addition I'm doing additional Maths which is rather harder and worse than AS and AS French which is okish. Currently flying through exams though and only 7 more to do.

I agree, my A Maths was a C5 :'( Didn't study enough for it. But my AS Pure Maths I felt was perfect. I got an A overall with Statistics being C (I changed to Mechanics for A2).

It's A2 Pure Maths that is the problem now. It's becoming a pain in the arse, but with plenty of study it's easy to get through.

Dont underestimate the power of Past Year Questions guys, they help ALOT! I had to resit my Physics AS and after doing one whole book full of AS paper MCQ's and Objective questions, I breezed right through. I got a D before :s.

Reflecting back, I really did very badly for my AS Module...

If you guys think your GCSE's are hard, just be gratefull you didn't have to go through the horrors of O Levels!!!

Course work didn't apply to those... The entire percentage of your grade rested on the exam, you didn't get any help from your coursework at all!

I don't know if any of you saw that program on Channel 4 (?) a while back where they put some modern kids through 1950's style school? All were predicted good results in the GCSE's, all got truly DREADFULL results in the mock O levels they did!

The exams are definately getting easier! I don't blame the kids being more stupid though, it's the quality of the teaching that's dropped and you poor kids are suffering because of it.

For gods sake, if you get into college, study hard or those A levels are going to kill you!

HA, what planet have you been on? Teacxhing standards are definately better than they were. My teachers agree with me on that so its your word against a teachers there.

The exams are getting easier but thast because the government wants more people to pass them.

Well, my mother-in-law is the head of foreign languages at her school, and believe me, the material on the national curriculum is a LOT easier than it used to be. It's not the quality of how it's taught, it's the material they have to teach you...

A question (as it's been 20 years since I was in school), during French/German/Spanish lessons, are you permitted to speak English? When I did French, from the 3rd year (year 9) onwards, English was not permitted in the classroom! My in-law says yes, in her class English is allowed (and it would be impossible to teach otherwise). She's the one who tells me the material is all watered down compared to the old exams, and getting worse by the year!

u sure the answer is 2cm?

Currently revising for my Further Maths A2...

Using ratios and the fact that there's two similar triangles:

9+3 : 3

12 : 3

1/12(12)(6) : 1/12(3)(6)

6 : 18/12

6 : 1.5

It's 1.5cm - It'd better be because these A-level things are hard :|

Turns out it is 2, as I first suspected:

9 : 6

= (1/9)(9)(12) : (1/9)(6)(12)

= 12 : 8

= 9 + 3 : 6 + x

= 9 + 3 : 6 + 2

Thereforel; x = 2.

Got *ABBBBBBBCC for my GCSEs :D - If you think you're good at maths doing GCSE you just wait for AS maths... it's a big step. A2 is just rediculous.

I did the [international]GCSEs a few years back. They were extremely easy, if you paid a drop of attention in class over a few years then it should't be a problem, just revise your weak spots and you'll be fine. I got.. A*A*A*A*A*A*AABB, may have a spare A or B, but I did have 6 A*s. Would've had an A* in history as well, but DHL lost our package !

I majorly bummed out on my GCSE's, but dont despair, im now a Sgt in the Army, with an HND, my problem at school was that i was to immature to realise the importance of the exams. But i have still got qualifications that surpass A levels.

So dont worry, but please do realise the importance and impact that this will have on the rest of your lives. BTW i earn 30K+, so not all is lost if you do poorly, but my advive is try and do your best.

I always thought that maths was a black art, but now i have studied it in depth i realise that it was something that i could have excelled at at school, had i applied myself, my time at school was wasted (by me), my only regret is not realising it at the time.

But having an HND in Building services HVAC, my world has opened, but my reason for this is the Army giving me the chance to proove myself.

During my HND i have endured more information overload than i could have possibly thought, but i now realise, the thing holding me back was me.

I wont wish anyone taking exams goodluck, beacuse luck isnt what exams are about, good preperation and revision is what will get you through.

Remeber the 8 P's.

Prior Planning and Preperation Prevents **** Poor Performance. :D

    • Now 8GB of ram looks even worse in the Neo. I'm so happy I purchased 128GB of DDR 4 when I did.... paid $174. Upgraded my parents laptop to 32GB around the same time for $48. Luckily I have a TON of spare laptops. So i'm good on laptops for a while. I also have a lot of desktops too that I could use if i had to. Lets just hope nothing happens to my main 4 monitor couch workstation.
    • I will keep my current devices for several years... no planning in upgrading until these devices stop working. Too pricey.
    • Apple raises MacBook and iPad prices as memory costs surge by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has raised the U.S. prices of several MacBook and iPad models, including the MacBook Neo, which it launched for $599 less than four months ago. The company’s cheapest laptop now starts at $699, while some MacBook Pro configurations have increased by $300. The changes affect the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Apple has not changed the hardware or storage included with these models, so customers are simply paying more for the same configurations. Here is how the new US pricing compares with the previous starting prices: Product Previous price New price Increase MacBook Neo $599 $699 $100 13-inch MacBook Air, 512GB $1,099 $1,299 $200 14-inch MacBook Pro, 1TB $1,699 $1,999 $300 16-inch MacBook Pro $2,699 $2,999 $300 11-inch iPad Air, 128GB $599 $749 $150 13-inch iPad Air, 128GB $799 $949 $150 11-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $999 $1,199 $200 13-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $1,299 $1,499 $200 The updated prices are already appearing on Apple’s U.S. online store. The MacBook Neo increase will probably attract the most attention. Apple introduced the laptop in March for $599, pitching it as a more affordable Mac for students and buyers considering Windows laptops or Chromebooks. It uses an A18 Pro processor and originally undercut Dell’s new $699 XPS 13 by $100. Following the increase, the two laptops now have the same starting price. The M5 MacBook Air has also lost the price Apple promoted when it launched in March. The 13-inch model arrived with 512GB of storage for $1,099, while Apple’s store now lists the MacBook Air range as starting at $1,299. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip and 1TB of storage has gone from $1,699 to $1,999. Apple has made similar changes to its iPads. The recently released M4 iPad Air, which launched at the same $599 starting price as its predecessor, now starts at $749 for the 11-inch version. The 13-inch version has risen from $799 to $949. The iPad Pro increases are larger in dollar terms. Apple’s 11-inch M5 iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, up from $999, while the 13-inch version has moved from $1,299 to $1,499. Both base models still include 256GB of storage. Apple blamed the increases on the rapidly rising cost of DRAM and NAND flash, which provide system memory and device storage. The company told Reuters that it had tried to shield customers from the increases but could no longer absorb them. “We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said. Tim Cook had already warned that price increases were coming. Cook said Apple’s existing component inventory had softened the immediate impact, but that higher memory costs would increasingly affect the company after the June quarter. Much of the pressure comes from the construction of AI data centers. Memory manufacturers are directing more production toward high-margin server products, leaving PC, tablet, and smartphone makers competing for the remaining supply. Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary or whether further increases are planned. For now, the changes show that even Apple’s purchasing power has not been enough to keep the AI-driven memory shortage away from consumer devices.
    • Ventoy 1.1.16 is out.
    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
