but how come luna element 1 shows the buttons right with the uxtheme patcher and luna element 2 with the uxtheme patcher doesen't show properly?it is clearly not the uxtheme patcher?explain that Boz if you can.

Haven't been visiting Neowin regularly for a while, this is the first new theme I've downloaded and used in ages. You did a great job of subtly improving Element. The new start menu is drool worthy. Those dark blue shades make it one of the most eye pleasing start menus I've ever seen. Party on. :)

a very logical question. How can it be solely the patched uxtheme.dll when the buttons show correctly everywhere else including in Luna Element 1. We better look elsewhere, the answer does not lie in the patched uxtheme.dll.

I'm looking forward in getting Luna Element 2 Trillian Skin.  The one done by Family Guy is nice (released to match LE), but the buttons are too big for the compact style...  :(

Anyway, good job em3!

It will be updated, and I have plans for a surprise... :ninja:

em3, I'm assuming I still have your permission to port it right?

First of all, em3, thank you very much for making such a great looking theme. I think I might know what the problem is with the Java control panel. It's nothing to do with the uxtheme.dll patch but rather the version of Windows XP. I have SP1 running at home and everything shows up perfect (with the buttons). The SP2 at work have no buttons whatsoever. So I am guessing it must be something that changed in SP2 that caused this.

Absolutely beautiful work! Please keep sharing your talents with us.

*The Java control panel issue is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. I have only looked at it a few times since installation and the lack of buttons isn't of any concern to me.

why don't i have any?

in the pm's you had no problem with me making it. now you act like it doesn't even exist.

I'm sorry. It been a lot of new post these last days. But family_guy made the first port so I don't think he should be ruled out making the 2:nd one. If you want yours to be released instead, talk to family_guy. Please don't let me be caught in the middle.

why can't there be two versions to choose from? competition is what sparks improvement and innovation. if there were only one type of car why would that company improve upon what they have if theres no competition to compete against?

there are already like 3 winamp element skins so why should this be any different.

well from what i saw in screenshots of his old version he only used the large caption buttons. mine is made with the more compact size. there will definately be differences between the 2 skins, since i have never used his i have no idea what certain parts even look like.

but to say now you don't want in the middle after you basically told 2 people to do it makes no sense.

i don't know why i even bothered helping you in the first place. you are completely lost about how things work apparently.

a beta will be posted on my forums. if you don't like it, too bad. you already told me to go ahead and make it, so i'll go ahead and release it.

this thread is starting to make the reluna thread look like a congressional hearing, in terms of being orderly, logical and intelligent. for the love of pete... not trashing on bant or his theme, but there certainly was a ton of ridiculous and unnecessary trash in that thread and it looks like its happening here too.

"don't put me in the middle of this" ? um, hate to tell you, but you're the theme creator. you're in the middle of this by default.

Well said Stevo! (Y)

You go out of your way to try to help improve someone's work and you just get shafted...just don't get it. I think all of the @ss kissing around here is getting to someone's head.

    • Got it. Seem like a good improvement. Thanks. But, before we "Add the source to Trusted Sites," how would know if it is trusted or not? Could get messy for not first Knowing" it is clean. See what I mean?
