on a side note, just to distract ye for a while, does anyone know anything about this site (who owns, affiliated with...)..

i'm not saying it has anything to do with ninty, just wondering what it was.. http://www.1revolution.com/

spinning cube thingy is kinda cool...

Here i have the spinning cube in case you want to use it anywhere

That's odd, that website 1revolution , also has "comming" instead of coming. Of course its possible someone has simply created this to keep the hype machine going.

One thing I am noticing though is that with all the secrecy around Revolution, and tidbits coming out here and there, there is a huge interest in the console. One way to get people interested in a product is to get them talking about it. I just hope we aren't in for a letdown when the final specs and controller are released.

Just checked out nintendoon.co.uk again and just noticed that the square made up of 16 smaller squares (which also appears in nintendoon video), is very similar to that optical illusion trick where you see 'spots' in beteen the squares, which seem to move around as you focus your eye on different parts of the square... such as in this example http://www.grand-illusions.com/movingspots.htm ..(anyone else notice this?)

This effect just gets me curious cos i was just killing some time on the net, and came across this site ( http://www.dansdata.com/gz016.htm) where this guy is going on about how VR might work effectively and different methods employed, and found the paragraph where he describes how wide vision (essential for VR) can be done without huge resolutions... which to me,sounds like what the illusion above, seems to be hinting at..

Now i don't claim to know what all this means or if the people behind nintendoon.co.uk are playing on our minds again and just feeding us more hype,

or maybe i am just getting too imaginative and wildly trying to make connections between the tidbits that we are being fed by sites such as nintendoon.co.uk and my own hopes that Nintendo is truly going revolutionize console gaming (or what i am hoping it to be..) Anyways , i dunno , what do ye think yourselves:, am i starting to lose the plot, or is there a bit more to the story of a ' Revolution'..

And as far as Xbox 360 and PS3 having HD in every game and being able to output dual 1080p respectively, i think 'Ex Vi Termini' applies..........

Shiggy leaked a little more information about the Revolution and also that he wants Mairo 128 to be on it rather then the GameCube. I bolded information about the secret of the Revolution because now he is mentioning something about a software user interface. That's the first I heard about that.

Shigeru Miyamoto Talks Revolution

Mario creator also offers details on status of Mario 128.

June 15, 2005 - Legendry game creator Shigeru Miyamoto spilled a few details on Mario 128 and the Nintendo Revolution during a recent interview with Wired News. While still secreative, Miyamoto did clarify the state of development on the upcoming Mario project.

"It's still floating around. We're searching for that fundamental idea that's going to drive the next 3-D Mario game," said Miyamoto, "but we're not sure when that's going to jump out at us. We're doing lots of tests with small groups."

A response like that brings up even more questions, one of which is whether Mario 128 will ship on Nintendo's current system, the Nintendo GameCube, or the upcoming Nintendo Revolution. Asked which system the game would arrive on?

"We think we want it on Revolution." Said Miyamoto.

Not a direct confirmation, but when asked to clarify if there would be no new GameCube platform games, Miyamoto went ahead and confirmed what some have suspected.

"The Mario team can't create too many games at the same time, so they're concentrating on the Revolution."

When such a statement only strengethns the belief Mario 128 will launch with the Revolution sometime 2006, or in the months after the system's release.

Miyamoto also spoke generally on the state of the games industry and on Nintendogs, the dog simluator for the Nintendo DS currently sweeping Japan. First though, he commented on dwindling software sales in Japan.

"I don't really think it's a Japanese problem. I think it's an industrywide and worldwide issue. In fact, I'm surprised how well the U.S. has held up; I think the U.S. is more the exception rather than the rule. What's happening with video games is the same thing that happens with anything new and interesting. At the beginning, everybody wants to see what it is. They gather around and check it out. But gradually, people start to lose interest."

When it came time to speak on the Nintendo Revolution, Miyamoto deflected most questions, but he did mention that in terms of hardware, the Revolution is capable of playing every Nintendo game ever created and that it's simply a matter of choosing which games to make available for downloadWhen it came time to talk on Revolution specifics, however, Miyamoto once again stated rival companies would capatilize on the system's technology if revealed too soon.

"Nintendo is always trying to be on the forefront of control innovations, like the analog stick, rumble or wireless," said Miyamoto, "As soon as these are available, our competitors snatch them up. Because the user interface is going to drive the Revolution software design, that's what's going to make our software stand out. Nobody else is going to be able to do what we do with next-generation game software. So, I can't reveal anything. It's under wraps because it's the big gun."b>

Stay tuned for more info on the Nintendo Revolution and Mario 128, which Nintendo has said would be revealed before the end of the year.

It's definitely a hoax (so no need for people to reply that it is a hoax) because they have said a million times it would not have a touchscreen.  Still pretty cool looking concept, but it is as big as a tank and probably would be uncomfortable.

Thats not a touchscreen, its a touchpad. No screen. ;)

its gonna be a gun....

*hopes everyone realizes this was just a lame joke*

Or is it? I have a theory that the controller might also work as a light-gun type of device, with the gyroscope thing. Prolly wrong, but hey, one can only dream until they finally release some more friggin info

just reading Osoko Tanaka latest addition to his blog, and while i don't know wheter to believe any of his 'predictions' or not, i just found that what has to say, is very credible..

All right. Let's to talk about some specs:

I can tell you Nintendo was working in a new game for Revolution.

This game will be "mature". Nintendo wants to change his philosophie. It will be an action game and you will use the "power" of the pad. For example, there will be some moments in which you'll need to be "silence" cause if you have some noise, you'll  be died on the battle(...).

This ties in what nintendo themselves about how we should look to the ds for some characteristics of the revolution, i.e. ds has voice recognition, revolution will take this a further step , and implement this as feature of gameplay ,(e.g. playing splinter cell would take on a whole new meaning of the word stealth..)

Whether this is the revolution or not, time will tell, although it certainly brings a new dimension to playing games, and it is the type of technology that M$ or Sony could steal and include in their own console..

Very interesting. Plus, companies like Sony and Microsoft, (not sure about Microsoft) always take ideas from Nintendo. Nintendo created the rumble feature in their controllers and that idea has been implemented in every system Sony, etc. have put out. Indeed the question is, what is the revolution about the Revolution? Only time will tell.

That may be very true,  it is the idea that he is hinting at.. i.e. using the sounds of the player (and surrounding environment..) to interact with the game in a whole new way, is what seems very plausible..

then you better hope the game is really quiet too (because if the volume's up, and it has music)....and i guess if you like to listen to music while you game you better get out of that habit....and if you and a bunch of buddies are sitting around drinking you better be able to make them shut-up....because maybe its just me but i would totally **** with people if this were the case....its all quiet, he's sneaking up on someone...all of a sudden i would just scream....or what about a car alarm outside....

its a good idea in theory, but i can't see them implementing this type of gameplay....too many external factors that could **** it up....

good point, but, i doubt that it could pick up sounds more than say 20 feet away, surely they would foresee this eventuailty ,(anyways i live out in country, so no problems with alarms and stuff going off..), as for having a few around , i doubt most people would a play a single player game anyway, more like multiplayer games would be on the menu, where, possibly a different use would be made for this feature

Indeed if this true, then i don't think it would be the revoultionary feature, it would be just a part of it

    • Microsoft hides these secret Windows 11 performance boost settings available on every PC by Sayan Sen Windows enthusiasts often look for ways to extract as much performance out of their systems as possible, and it's often the case that they try and do so while trying to minimize the heat and power consumption. This is especially relevant in the case of mobile Windows PCs since laptops and notebooks tend to get hot and management of that heat and power is harder in such a form factor. As such users often turn to techniques like under-volting which can be used to squeeze out the maximum capabilities of a chip while also maintaining lowered power levels. There are official apps from AMD and Intel with the likes of Ryzen Master and XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility). While these are quite handy, most enthusiasts probably prefer to dig into the BIOS and play around with settings there like Curve Optimizer on Ryzen, which lets users set various frequency-voltage scaling values. These are essentially called P-States. If you are not familiar with them, Processor Power Management is done through Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) P-states and C-states. While P-states or performance pwoer states handle CPU voltage-frequency scaling, C-states deal with CPU sleep states so that some of the CPU functions, which are not necessary at that moment, can be disabled. The P-states and C-states work together to make the processor run more efficiently. It helps the OS and apps determine which cores can be parked and which should be boosted. Of course not every user is an enthusiast or knows the technicalities and integrities of how things like overclocking or undervolting work. Thankfully for them Windows itself offers something pretty cool, though it is hidden by default on all systems. By default, Windows only has two P-States, "Minimum Processor State" and "Maximum Processor State." However, this can be changed with a Registry trick to expand the options under a secret "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown. This essentially enables the HWP or hardware P-States available on a device, and these are not controlled just by the OS itself as the underlying hardware gets involved too. In total there are five Processor Performance Boost Mode profiles that control how Windows requests and allows CPU turbo/boost behavior under the different power policies. They are: Disabled: In this mode, processor boosting is effectively turned off. The CPU will avoid entering turbo or boost frequencies and instead operate closer to its base frequency ceiling. This can significantly reduce power consumption and heat output, but at the cost of reduced burst performance and responsiveness in short workloads. Enabled: This is the standard behavior where boost functionality is allowed under normal conditions. The processor can opportunistically increase frequency when workload demands it, balancing performance gains with power and thermal constraints as managed by the system. Aggressive: Aggressive mode favors performance more heavily, allowing the CPU to enter higher boost states more readily and sustain them longer. This should in theory improve responsiveness under bursty or heavy workloads but increases power draw and thermal output compared to the default enabled behavior. Efficient Enabled: This mode still allows boosting, but with a stronger bias toward energy efficiency. The system attempts to use boost more selectively, avoiding unnecessary frequency spikes when the performance gain is marginal. Efficient Aggressive: This is a hybrid approach where boost is still performance-responsive, but the system continuously weighs efficiency more heavily than in Aggressive mode. It aims to deliver noticeable performance improvements while reducing wasted power in less demanding scenarios. Here's how to enable the Processor performance boost mode: Open Registry Editor: Press Win+R, type regedit, and click OK. Go to: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 (where HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_) Modify the value of Attributes from 1 to 2 (you can find modify option by right-clicking) After that, exit Registry, you should now be able to see the new "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown menu: As you can see there are now five new P-States or CPPC states or power profile available that help define the boost mode processor setting on your PC. Wrapping it up here's a quick run-down of the settings as defined by Microsoft itself. Setting Description Disabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is disabled. Collaborative Processor Performance Control (CPPC) behaviour is disabled. Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Efficient Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Efficient Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows calculates the desired extra performance above the guaranteed performance level, and asks the processor to deliver that specific performance level. Efficient Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows always asks the processor to deliver the highest possible performance above the guaranteed performance level. In the next part we shall be comparing these settings to explore how much of a benefit or regression they can provide in terms of performance and power efficiency. If you decide to change the values on your system and are experiencing problems like crashes or an overheating PC, make sure to revert the steps back to the original state.
    • I think he means you haven't reviewed previous UFC games. Of course it doesn't matter... Every time you just report on something that involves the President even if just simply what happened you guys usually get accused of being anti-Trump. We live in fun times.
    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
