[Definitive] Nintendo Wii Thread

Well if they really did patent the new controller scheme and concepts/ideas behind it, then sure patents can protect them since they are in effect for 20 years (initially). Also, I'd love to hear what Sony & Microsoft have to say about the controller. :ninja:

They will say what many are already saying. Just read all the less than quiet posts in this thread haha.

Imagine if you will... a gun to hold as the skin... and a dancing type of pad to control your movement... so you control the direction of where you go by simply standing in that direction on the pad... use the gun with the buttons to do as you please. That will be beautiful.

Another concern of mine, is how well you'll be able to play these games  while just sitting down and relaxed, or tilted away from your television?

IGN wrote that they learned to relax after a while. It just takes som practise. Like any other controller.

I have a feeling that this console is going to ruin Nintendo, that controller is a joke.

Have many times do we have to explain things.. You have to try it to understand how it works. Your reaction is what Nintendo was worried for... Just think outside of the box for a while and think of the possibillities.

I love Nintendo, exactly for stuff like this. Seriously, this could be amazing, the potential for games like Soul Calibur excite me. I might buy a new console for the first time since N64 (I bought an Xbox, but it was for $20 since it's slighty broken, every once in a while I get the dreaded dirty disk).

Right. People are confined to the way controllers are now. Nintendo wants to break that.... they wanna bust down some motha effin walls ;D It seems that people's liking to nintendo is directly related to how imaginative they are.

I just dont get the whole Nintendo thing I guess. Never really saw them as boundry pushing geniuses.

If Nintendo worry that badly about what gamers think about their products then maybe they should step back and see what works rather than using gimmicks.

Swap 'imaginative' with 'elitist trend ######' and you're half way there.

Uh nothing would ever change that way.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
