OH GOD...

"Touching is good, but feeling is better"

Actually force feedback could do this.

I have a Logitech USB optical mouse called the iFeel...it has basically a small motor mounted inside it, and using techology from (guess who Sony!) Immersion Corp, you could basically 'feel' your desktop. Everything had a different 'texture' when you moused over things, down menus, over buttons.

Revolution could employ this tech to allow you to 'feel' edges and objects, etc.

:)

I solved the mystery. Cookie please.

I've got chocolate chip or fudge brownie? Choose wisely ;)

^^ I'm actually worried about Mario 128. I mean, I have no clue about what they can do to implement the new controller to the Mario gameplay, so I'm afraid they may pull something crazy that maybe won't be that great. For example, IMHO controlling Mario 64 DS with any of the configurations available in the game is really difficult, and kind of like a step back. I guess I'll just have to trust them.

But for all other games, I really excited to see what they come up with

586553448

too true, Mario 64 DS was a pain.. i just couldnt get used to the touch screen, and i hated the fact that when using the dpad you had to hold down another button just so you could run, otherwise you'd just walk really really slow. saying that though, i completed that game, and it was a decent port, the only let down was the controls.

I'm worried about 128 aswell, i was hoping for a true Mario 64 sequel, but if they go about it like they did with the N64 that the revolutionary part was needed for you to play it, it would really take the pi$$.

Also that mention of a new sidekick, and different ways to interact..or whatever was said.. bothers me.

Peter Moore, Microsoft Xbox Vice President, praises Nintendo's Revolution controller, regarding Microsoft's and Nintendo's goals of expanding the video game market with their next consoles.

"I want to give kudos for Nintendo for its attempt at innovation with the new controller," Moore continued by saying he felt the controller would "bring people in that, as Iwata-san said, are either lapsed gamers or gamers that are intimidated by the complexity of the controller."

"We need to grow as an industry," Moore extended. "Having a simplified controller is one tactic in what is a larger strategic battle we need to face to grow this business."

According to Moore, Microsoft is also expanding the video game market through the Xbox 360's "digital lifestyle" functionality. This is a surprise and invigorating change to the usual stabs the 3 major companys have been taking at eachother.

Well at least microsoft is more mature than sony, who screamed at the DS

"OMGLOL Gimmick!"

Super Mario 64 DS with the thumbstrap was almost as easy like using the N64 controller IMO. Using other controls just ruins the game really...

586560585

Arrr, I couldnt get the thumbstrap to work for me right in that game. I just ended up getting used to the d-pad.

people say they dont know how Mario 128 will be played with the controller, but I thought I remember seeing something in demo video

I saw the girl flick the controller up and hear the traditional mario jump sound.

586568780

Yeah well I'm pretty sure that doesnt really have anything to do with it. Theyre being as top secret as they were with the controller when it comes to any gameplay features in Mario 128.

Correct.

That video is exaggerated to show concepts of control.

Like when the kid jumps over the sofa while playing an FPS.

My idiot friend was like "its gonna suck to have to move around and ****..."

Hah...like you have enough room to move around to play an entire game spanning hundreds of virtual miles etc... HAHA....

And HAHA isnt it funny how much Nintendo has us by the balls? Or anyone for that matter (Apple comes to mind...)...they show us this and that, to be greeted by "WOWWW" (deservingly though!)...then tease us by hiding the 'rest'...

'please, let go of that tight grip you have on my balls'

Yep, a couple years back when I first found myself becoming interested in Apple I realized at that moment that they were just like nintendo. They both drive me crazy and yet I love them both.

They feed us this little scraps like they are doing us a favor by giving them to us, and we eat it right up. But not before we sit up like dogs begging for it!

:) love ya Nintendo :bounce:

yea i like the whole keeping information untill the last minute, adds an air of mystery to nintendo

well at least they're not like MS and sony who cant stop bashing other peoples products to stopand look at thier own

HA! RTFP, MS was praising the revolution earlier.

You're a funny man.

Bah, the thumbstrap is horrible, you need a stylus to use the DS properly.

586568755

Are you kidding :o

The thumbstrap is so easy to use! Infact all the other control ways are so uncomfortable for Super Mari 64. If you use the D-pad the character doesnt ever run :s

Yeah the character does run, you just have to hold down one of the buttons, I forgot which one. The left-most button. Sort of like the traditional mario games where you had to hold B to run.

That would be the Y button.

But the Thumstrap is so much easier to control :)

Possible specs?

As commented there,

Well the main difference between Nintendo and the rest is that they are not in this race for who has the best graphics. They are in it for who has the most innovative hardware. Powerful system is just a bonus, and the more powerful it is, the happier I'll be in the long run.

    • I think he means you haven't reviewed previous UFC games. Of course it doesn't matter... Every time you just report on something that involves the President even if just simply what happened you guys usually get accused of being anti-Trump. We live in fun times.
    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
    • Another devilish issue surrounding these certificates is what can happen with old, unsuspecting PCs that nevertheless have Secure Boot enabled. In my case, it was a Dell with a 3rd-gen Core chip (so about 13 years old). As of the last few weeks, it was suddenly BSOD'g within about 5 minutes of booting. Turns out it was because of MS's "Secure-Boot-Update" scheduled task, which is scheduled to run 5 minutes after login. It's explained in gory detail here (this is not my post, but it was where I found the answer), but the short version is that this legacy system would need fairly elaborate, manual certificate intervention since MS's automatic cert update method cannot work. How to do that is linked late in the thread. https://www.bleepingcomputer.c...od-caused-by-scheduled-task Secure Boot wasn't at all important for this particular PC, so I disabled it to be done with the problem.

Winhance 26.06.12 changelog: Features Builder Mode — build a Winhance config file or autounattend.xml without changing anything on the PC you're sitting at. Flip the new mode switcher to Builder, set everything the way you want it, and save the result as a Winhance config or an autounattend file ready for deployment on other machines. Sponsors & Supporters page — the exit donation dialog is gone. In its place, an in-app page (heart icon or the More menu) recognizes the businesses and individual supporters who keep Winhance free. It works offline and is fully localized. Change History — Winhance now keeps a receipt of everything it does. ChangeHistory.txt records every setting change (before and after values) and every app install or removal, with clear headers for config imports and bulk actions. Open it from the More menu. Hebrew language support — Winhance is now available in 29 languages. New Explorer customizations: desktop icon visibility toggles, This PC folder visibility, an icon cache size setting, and automatic thumbnail cache cleanup. New "All apps view" setting for the redesigned Windows 11 Start menu, and the Windows 11 system tray icons setting is now a dropdown with more control. App-local UI zoom — press Ctrl +/-/0 or use Ctrl+MouseWheel to scale the whole app, just like a browser. New External Apps: EA app, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Rockstar Games Launcher, PowerShell, and Helium Browser. Bug Fixes Layouts no longer clip when the Windows text size slider is set above 100%. Accessibility: Narrator now announces setting names on toggles and dropdowns, previously unlabeled buttons are labeled, and progress updates are announced. Silent updates now respect your custom install location instead of reverting to the default. Cancel in Review Mode no longer clears your app selections. OneNote is now detected correctly for Win32 Click-to-Run installs. Clean Start Menu applies more reliably by also writing the group policy path. WinGet errors are no longer silent — error details now show in the terminal output. Fixed a startup crash on older Windows builds caused by a .NET runtime regression. Config import now converts power setting values correctly and no longer re-applies an already-active power plan. Improvements App icons load noticeably faster and cover almost everything now, including legacy capabilities and optional features — they come from a dedicated, checksum-validated icon repository and are fetched in parallel. Software & Apps polish: per-icon tooltips, extra table columns, an app sort dropdown, relocated search, and a cleaner compact view. A warning now appears when the Connected Devices Platform Service is set to Manual or Disabled, since some Windows features depend on it.
