HI, i do not frecuent from a long time ago neowin, and now i still see that anyone did not done a spanish AP, so im trying to do one for the whole community, i already translated 1034.lng (correctly, it had some mistakes), but then, from the tutorials posted in the first page (how to..), i do not understand what to do next sad.gif . any help will be much appreciated

ok, basically:

1) for all .amc files, translate the name & description fields into spanish, and change the system language the translated amc file will load on from ANY_LCID or 1033 to 1034.

2) for all .amc files, rename '_enu' in the file name to '_spn' or whatever you'd like to use as an abriviation for 'spanish'

3) any folders with '_enu' in the name you need to swap the setup files with spanish copies, and alter the setup instructions in the .amc file with the file name of the spanish setup file.

4) 'parent IDs' are used to create a 'hierarchical' or "directory" structure, where for example critical modules are listed under the 'critical section'. the parent id field in a modules .amc file gives the filename (minus .amc extension) of the .amc file it should appear under. after #2 youve now renamed all .amc files, so you need to alter all parent id's, else when you run autopatcher it will look for modules under the old id's and youll get an error.

Hi, I'm trying to translate Autopatcher to Traditional Chinese and I'm having some problems with displaying the characters. After I compile and run the program, the screen displays half of the characters correctly and half of them with question marks. Here's a screenshot of it.

Setup with scrambled characters

I'm just wondering if I'm saving the *.lng file in the wrong format. I've tried ANSI, Unicode, Unicode-UTF8 and nothing works. Everything looks fine in the *.lng file until the program runs.

The Traditoinal Chinese language file, 1028.lng

I noticed in your AP_translations.rtf file you explained that you can't use special characters for the greek language in the current version of Autopatcher (5.1). Does this have anything to do with why I can't correctly display the chinese characters? My locale is set to Traditional Chinese (Taiwan). If anyone has any idea why this is happening please post a reply, thx!!

Thx theblazingangel, so I decided to continue to do it anyway, using english for all the messages and module titles. I realized that the description part was able to render the chinese characters perfectly though...whats that about? Anyway, I have three questions:

1) The powertoys folder has all the *.lst with the "_enu" appended. Can I just rename those?

2) The powertoys *.amc files are all encrypted if I change them I have to send them to you to re-encrypt them which would come with the new *.lst I assume. Is that right?

3) For the encryption process do I just send you all the *.amc files (should I keep the folder structure?), do I need to send anything else?

@hobo0, ah, well i must have missed them in the transpack. delete the lst files, when you modify the amc files and save them itll ask you if you want to over write an official module, just say yes. make sure you modify and resave all encrypted amc files before renaming else youll corrupt them and theyll become useless.

for encryption you need to send us everything including all setup files.

Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB917008) ???

Hi, ... ][ Bonjour, ...

I can use the software, ...

But nearly all text are in english.

I have the idea to use the "1033.lng" name, and rename the "1036.lng" to "1033.lng". And after i see the Texts in French.

( My Windows XP SP2 Fam. is in "French Canadian", locale "French", Keyboard "French,US-International". )

I am not in France, But in Canada.

][

@blaze: For 2000, 908523 also needs to be removed as it's replaced by 920958.

EDIT: I just realized that 912817 replaces 902400 on XP. 912818 doNOT/b> replace 902400 on 2003 (couple of files not in 912818).

ill remove 908523 at the same ti;) ;)

you mentioned 902400 being replaced by 912817 somewhere before but when i checked it seemed that 902400 has one file 912817 doesnt have, namely Arpidfix.exe, so im not convinced it has been replaced.

arpidfix.exe only adds the "Installed Date" in Add/Remove Programs, which was fixed in update.exe version 6.2. It is not copied over to the computer the update is installed on.
