this is a lot better than anything youve ever done before while you know i have never liked your old themes, this is very nice. It feels a little bloated, maybe a calming of the bright colours will change that, but overall im happy your making something nice

Can the "X" button just be that.....an X? I was thinking along the lines of an orange look like you have for the 'Windows Flag" in this screenshot: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=...=post&id=133488

The minimize button could be an arrow pointing down. Maximize being an arrow pointing up (makes sense in my eyes) and restore could be an equals sign looking thing.

Just my thoughts.

EDIT: I have to say though that I forgot about this VS because I have been busy and I'm VERY impressed on how it is coming. The only other question I'll ask (which may already have been asked before, I just missed it) is "Will there be a compact Start Menu option?"

Keep it up. It'll be my new theme soon enough :p

i haven't directly compared or read this whole thread.

but the first thing i saw was a crappy looking code opus, kind of fuzzy, too many differents types of edges and colors, and it just aint no opus ;)

also winswy you're a little too high on yourself, seriously. it's not very minimal and classic looking, it still has alot of obvious chunky 1995 style too it like you usually do.

it's not that quality, and this is coming from someone who sees the great quality in themes like reluna, opus os, codename opus, etc etc. the style you speak of isn't that great, since it's fuzzy as hell and really resembles some b0se themes.

no offense.

you have a ways to go.

When you "catch up" with the rest of this thread and realize clearly what you are shoveling, please feel free to comment precisely what you truely mean. Quite frankly, your lack of manners gives your opinions zero credibility. People who are high on themselves do not purposely seek-out the opinions of others and then go out of their way in an attempt to please them.

Have a nice day, bonehead... ;)

no, you're a bonehead!

hey 8 poster buddy, i stated in another one of my posts that i did catch up, and that it made no difference to my original posts, my opinion still stood, people don't like it, that's fine and dandy.

also if you read an even more recent post, i said i'm glad i'm done arguing.

that post is three pages back and five days old anyway

Bloodwork, may i ask why you so religiously defend winswy? if you work on this theme with him, that's fine. but really, to many many people it does look like an XPM rip off, you don't have to just bash them and toss out insults. and in my opinion XPM doesn't resemble classic very much.

What exactly looks similar to XPm here? the colors? cos eh.. their MICROSOFT COLORS !.. what exactly is getting ripped off? Please tell me, as every graphic was created by me and i'd dearly love to know what i ripped off. Also who are the MANY MANY people that think this.?

Anyway, you seem to just want to argue with people, so other than your eplanation, if you have nothing constructive to add, i would appreciate if you just stayed out of my threads.

and... Have a Banner day !! :D

i don't want to argue, why don't you ask the guy who said it was an XPM rip off too? all i originally said is that it looked like what b0se would do.

IMO:

the start button looks like variations of his

the colors seem like he'd use em (classic isnt orange green and blue is it)

your min/max/close buttons, just closely resemble his, they're like small pixel squares, that's not exactly how classics look.

i hate arguing (it's so time consuming), it's just my opinion.

constructive wise? i said you're getting better and that if you worked at we need more minimal themers, this just doesn't look that original to me.

also what the hell is have a banner day? :p

none of my posts are intended to be bad just tones get taken the wrong way over forums.

i look at the images, i come to a conclusion, i am not wrong because it is my opinion. you don't seem to notice positive things i say either.

but i'm surprised that in 6 years, you still enjoy making maximal chunky glossy themes, they're not elegant and professional personally =\

We get it, you don't like the theme. So why bother hanging around this thread? This theme is neither chunky nor glossy. It looks very professional and I will be using it when he releases it. You have made you opinion be very well known on this so please go troll else where.

I think 'Alan Zeino' is looking for some comments on his pixel.vector VS he is working on. Why don't you go troll over there and see how stupid you can make yourself look.

his pixel vector vs looks good, i don't see why i'd look stupid.

why bother hanging around this thread? people keep replying to my posts with comments.

i wasn't talking about this particular theme being chunky or glossy.

i don't actually look stupid here, i only restate my opinion and add points because people keep replying to my messages. and not a single person realizes i've said nice things too. i'm surprised how many people say stupid **** to me when they could just input their positive comment to winswy and move on.

everyone needs to stop defending him by attacking my posts, it was just directed towards him, go relax guys, save it for lifes important matters. attacking my posts (naturally) only leads to me replying.

kleaie .. u r the second person on neowin i have put on my ignore list..you just dont know when to stop talking.

To the rest of you guys, i work 10-12 hours a day here in florida, its been REAL hot this summer, and i work outside so past few days i have been so exhausted i barely have enough energy to take a shower let alone work on a vs, i can however ASSURE you i will finish it i think what i have in mind for the rest of the theme will be worth waiting for. 2 weeks tops and i'll have it done, if i have to put in 30 mins a night to get it done.

    • In what way is any of what I said incorrect? To install an update you need to close all browser instances, upping it from once a month to once a fortnight is an inconvenience for users. Particularly when updates don't offer functionality that users want (notably copilot). Security updates should come as they are needed, not on a release schedule
