Anyone in the mood for some insane brutal death metal would do well to check out Decrepit Birth.  I listened to this album a lot when it came out in 2003, but just recently rediscovered it, hence the sig change.

Just to say, just seen Alice Cooper and Twisted Sister live. Fecking awesome.

Didn't know that Twisted Sister wrote the song "burn in hell", had only heard the Black Label Society version of it before 6 hours ago.

raging speedhorn - how the great have fallen

ryker's - gound zero

killswitch engage - the end of heartache

madball - demonstrating my style

the crown - crowned in terror

friend of mine wanted to buy a printer...instead we bought some more cheap cds at a local store.

i got:

hatebreed - the rise of brutality

killswitch engage - killswitch engage

killswitch engage - alive or just breathing

Nice but are you trying to buy every metal cd ever made

:fro:

Impossibility of Reason is their favorite album of mine.

Kiwi, if you haven't before, check out Man Must Die. They're a tech death band with splashes of metalcore, but not enough to disinterest me. Their site has the first track from their debut album.

I just can't get enuff of CoBs latest. Track 4 has such a good chorus, I love songs with melodic choruses countering stompy ass verses.

Also grabbed the Lamb of God dvd they are just amazing, I can't get enough of this band.

Got the machine head DVD, which I've not really watched yet. They are cool, but LOG is just so much more fun to play along with!

Yeah i got the LOG DVD. Just amazing where it's not edited just plain old filming which i like. None of this mainstream edit just to sell records. :D

I just picked up Solefald's latest album, and wow. This album, called Red for Fire; An Icelandic Odyssey Part 1 is (naturally) the first part of a two disc record. The second half, Black for Death, is due out next spring. It's an interesting combination of jazzy saxophones and black metal. It's worth a listen. However, if you don't like black/avantgarde metal like Akercocke, Arcturus, etc., it won't be for you.

I just discovered Willowtip records and their stunning catologue of bands.

Some to check out:

Alarum (Tech-death-Jazz stuff, amazing)

Arsis (Melo-Death that is really technical and good, without lacking originality)

Capharnaum (Another Melo-death band other than Edge of Sanity that is good, jesus!)

Coprofago (Tech-Extreme-Metal, inhuman assault on the senses (think of Meshuggah but a ****load better) with a jazzy influence)

Goatsblood (Devastating Doom metal, sure to crush and kill you through your headphones)

Gorod (Extremely technical, brutal, and precise death/grind metal)

Rune (Atmospheric Death Metal that needs to be heard)

The Chasm (Would be a crime to just label it death metal, more like an atmospheric death/black/thrash etc etc band, really unique)

If you like black metal (no I'm not talking about Cradle of Filth, and I feel like I shouldn't have to say it but I need to)

Arckanum

Astrofaes

Baptism

Belenos

Celestia

Code

Drudkh

Epheles

Funeral Mist

Glorior Belli

Horna

Inquisition

Kampfar

Katharsis

Lunar Aurora

Malleus Maleficarum

Mutiilation

Nifelheim

Ondskapt

Svartsyn

Svest

Taake

Urfaust

Watain

Wyrd

meh, i don't know how helpful that was but i've got nothing else to do.

Good stuff man. I've been into Alarum, Arsis, Capharnaum, Coprofago, and The Chasm for quite some time. I'll have a look at the others.

Astrofaes and Drudkh are great. I think we're going to have to help people discern black metal from CoF forever, so get used to it.

    • IBM are good at announcing stuff, but not at actually delivering it... How many decades ago did they announce quantum computers, and here we are in 2026, with CHINA delivering them, and IBM still talking...
    • It sounds like you’re trying to rewrite a narrative to align this layoff with your political beliefs. Games can be horrible, whatever backwards notions you have don’t change that bungie has problems, mostly with just bad games, and arrogance. When they pushed Microsoft to let them be independent they lost their way. They hired on a bunch of people and they couldn’t justify the employee count consistent with their revenue.
