alright thanks

im a habs fan (in case you couldn't tell ;) )

I would. If Vancouver is stupid enough to sign 2 guys who are MORE than likely to ask for near the top of the individual cap, they will bury themselves.

Rumor has it that they just want to play together and that after this year they will retire and go back to Sweden. Apparently they are willing to take a pay cut. Vancouver could get it done at 4 mil each and still be under the cap.

Thrashers sign Holik for $4.25m a yr!

seriously, wtf is going on? what was the whole point of the entire CBA?? These GM's are overpaying players AGAIN. Aucoin 4mil? Zubov? Holik? Foote 4.6m? Why was there a work stoppage? Everything the GM's and the players worked for went to waste. The players who r contractually obligated to a team that took a 1/4 roll-back in their salaries r the ppl getting screwed over here. The UFA's are stealing their money basically, and r putting potential players out of jobs due to the salary cap... i just dont get it. The GMs could get these players for a lot less but r yet shelling out big bucks?

also, if holik is getting 4.25m a year how much is Ilya Kovalchuk gonna get? 6-7m??

The players can't get over 6 mil a year under the cap. Also, the unnoficial cap from the owners is 5 mil, wich so far they have followed.

REPORT: Markus Naslund has reportedly signed with the New Jersey Devils. I just heard it on The Score (Canadian Sports Station), although it hasn't been confirmed yet. More as it becomes available.

that i havent heard, but i hear Forsberg is in talks with Montreal on CKAC radio here. Maybe it has something to do with your info about Naslund being picked up by the devils, cause apparently they wanted to play together

Flyers have signed Derian Hatcher, Mike Rathje, Chris Therien, and Jon Sim.

do you guys think the Canucks will make an offer to the best and most under rated D-man in the league (Scott Niedermayer)? it is near his hometown. I'm lucky cause I get to see him play almost every game, but if he goes to Vancouver they will be pretty nasty in '06 all they need is goaltending. GAME ON!

LET'S GO DEVILS!

I sure hope we sign Niedermayer.. Seriously that guy is good. GO CANUCKS!

EDIT> If Naslund signs with Devils I'll kill myself :(

There have been unconfirmed reports that he has signed with a few other teams as well, so take it with a grain of salt. He will be back with the Canucks IMO.

kill yourself why? I would take Niedermeyer over Naslund any day. the guy has 3 stanley cups and a Norris trophy. not to mention the other times he's been screwed from that trophy. Naslund is great but no cups. I doubt the Devils would ever make an offer to Naslund it's not Lamorielo's style.

because he's been part of the Canucks for so long and was our captain

I'm going to need to buy one of those magazines with all the new rosters at the beginning of the season.  This is insane.  Huge names are moving all over the place.

It will settle down next season probably, right? Just this year is a huge shakeup cause of the new CBA, I am guessing.

    • Exciting! It’s amazing how hearing Japanese can naturally enhance the perceived quality of any experience or product.
    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
