Forgot to mention... I was actually using 3 systems. I used one workstation to download the file, one server to mount the iso, and a different workstation to do the install (this pc has a cdrw, but not a dvd). The installer workstation was a blank pc, I had to use BartPE to get the Vista installer started...... there was no winnt.exe type executable to start from a clean pc. weird

Nvidia didn't provide drivers for the 6XXX and 7XXX series of cards, Go to Nvidia's Forum and complain or send Nvidia an email.

Anyways my FX 5200 works perfectly with Aero Glass

Ok, did you bother installing the supplemental drivers? My 6600 GT seemed to install just fine, with what appears to be the latest nVidia drivers. I haven't had much opportunity to actually test performance since I'm having trouble getting my nForce ethernet to connect to my cable network.

You try disabling the windows audio service (just to see what the culprit is)?

Yea, nothing, it seems to be video related, also it wasn't getting any of my card info..

I had some issues first but after 2 reboots everything is fixed, actually was weird because I set a static IP but when I did ipconfig at the command prompt I got something like:

- IP - 169.254.x.x

- subnet - 255.255.255.0

- gateway 192.168.2.10

Eventhough I set an IP in the same range as the gateway.

BTW great drivers from ATi, fixed some flickering I was getting with IE.

I had a similar problem where i couldnt pull an IP address out of my router, after Vista was working on a previous reboot. I could no longer pull an IP address from the router.

The one thing that fixed it was renewing the IP address on my router by logging into it. Why? I dunno, but I haven't had a single problem since.

:)
