Installed IE7, seems good, but two questions.

1. Trillian crashes, and yes you can fix it by removing the msn.dll plugin, but does anyone know of a way to get the MSN plugin to work with Trillian and IE7?

2. Is there no RSS Feed browser? Do I seriously have to click on each one as if it were a favorite? If so, why do that when I can just go to the actual website?

Thanks!

I'd like to start a topic about the bugs/suggestions people should have for the new IE7.

To begin with, the Refresh and Stop buttons have dissappeared, and skin for IE7 has pretty much dissappeared.

Continue...

-it causes trillian to crash unless you remove the msn plugin.

-View Source sometimes doesn't process an "enter" key, making it blocks.

-Middle click/Drag still isn't skinned nicely.

Hmmm, I just went and checked, cuz I didn't notice a new icon at the top of my Start Menu, is still the same ol IE icon, but then looked in the All Programs menu, and yeah, there is a new icon there.

Is your Start Menu showing the new icon? If so, how would I go about changing mine?

can you speak english and repost (or edit) so we can understand you?

It's alright. The Links toolbar is flaky with width/spaces.

It seems a lot faster with rendering and the new addon management is better, I hope there is some nice addons that come out (adblocking, etc.)

I'm glad you can now middle-click to open a new window (or tab) but I disabled the tabs, they seem so ugly. I disabled the phishing filter too, seems kind of pointless unless you're an idiot.

Wewl .. Ima little hurt in my feelings because Im discriminating against my English.

Width that sayd.

IE7 does not ave download manager, but ...

A. it ave "Phishing Filter" for more of the security.

B. it ave "Tabbed Browsing" wich can be a turn on or turned off.

G. It is faster than me, and you too.

Fin.

I don't know why he'd spend the effort making his post 1337.. it's much easier typing regular english...

rofl. I have way too much time on my hands... I should be sleeping... but as best as I could discern, this is what he said:

Okay, Okay, listen to me now. Err...

If you can't get IE7 to work then you have a broken file. There are a few reasons for this:

1. Your IE7 setup file is corrupt.

2. You have an illegal copy of Windows, and were too dumb to change the product key when you installed it. Or you can make a new key now, but you have to do that before you install Internet Explorer 7. But I am not going to tell you how to do that.

or

3. :ph3ar:

There. That should explain why you are not able to run IE7.

Other than that, it's Stable. Plus you have anti-phishing mode for bad websites.

Good, Fast, but still has a little buggy interface

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give IE7 a J.

I still run it. It is nice.

    • Problem with that is Vivaldi is the slowest chromium browser I have ever used. I keep trying it every few months in case performance has improved. ...and it's not due to specs or config. 5900x/32gigs/RTX3080 here, Win 11 25H2 etc.
    • My only concern would be the state of the battery. I'd be getting one from a place you trust and perhaps has a decent warranty.
    • Like yourself Steven P I have watched it from the days of William Hartnell, It was good when we had the Darlek's and the Cybermen. Sad to see one of the longest running shows in the world die a sad death.
    • My problem with FF is I have to jump through hoops to get at least somewhat close to what Vivaldi gives me out of the box, with no real advantage that would make it worth my while. (But hey, apparently there's now at least experimental support for HDR in FF. I mean it's about a decade too late, but still...finally!) Brave I was never the least interested in, never saw the point, not to mention there's been quite a bit of drama surrounding them over the years. But I've been a faithful and very happy Opera user all the way back to 2001(ish), so once Vivaldi showed up following that awkward period of time after the key people left Opera and the company was sold, I never really looked back. And they never once made me question my choices.
