Storm
IE7 is everything but not thin.IE7 uses much more RAM than it used to, now even more than Firefox... 586285841 I dont mean like that, i mean as in apperence, and looks. And dont start telling me about firefox themes either....
xcopmanx
Why when I go to Neowin.net, it doesn't show a RSS feed button, or for any other sites for that matter. When I initially load IE7, I see the RSS feed button flash for a second, then it goes away. :pinch: That's GAY! It should be default on there so we don't need to customize the toolbar to get it... +ir0nw0lf Subscriber² Posted July 28, 2005 Subscriber² Share Posted July 28, 2005 IE7 looks good.I'm still testing. But is it possible to identify IE7 as IE6? I can't use my internet banking :( 586285852 You actually want to use your internet banking via a BETA product? (To simply test and see if you can get into the internet banking I can see, but no more than that!) greg098
Here are my thoughts. I like the new design, except for the huge OPEN NEW TAB button after your tabs and the icons near you FILE etc. menu. It looks yuck. I find the build very stable, but nothing like Firefox. Clearly, Microsoft need to do a lot more to get back the competition. I also noticed the new favourites. There is one for Internet Explorer Plug-ins...sounds like Firefox a bit? If Microsoft want to out do firefox, add some extra features. Where is the download manager? I thought IE 7 was going to have one?

Yagi
MSN Tech & Gadgets section confirms that a public beta of IE 7 will not be out till beta 2. Microsoft lead product manager Greg Sullivan said Microsoft is not planning for a downloadable version of IE 7 to be made publicly available until Beta 2. "We'll really be ready to do broader end user testing around Beta 2," Sullivan said. The company has not said when that version will arrive. But that's not to say people who aren't in the beta don't already have it ;) Source: http://msn.com.com/2100-3513_22-5805696.ht..._2543&tag=mymsn
coolchan
OMG, IE hasn`t got a refresh button... buaaahahah, in your face, IE users... 586285882 No, the Refresh button is static. You can't move it like in IE6. It just sits on the right side of the address bar, which is a bit annoying. Actually the Refresh button is also the Stop button, when the page loads. freedom77
you can also right click on a tab and hit refresh. IE7 is faster than firefox, that makes its hugly faster than ie6.
Joliet Jake
You can also press CTRL+T ( Just like firefox ) to create a new tab.
RootWind
Works alright. The interface seems like it should be an Alpha or Pre-Alpha version though.
BigCheese
The tabs work awesome. They behave exactly as I would want them to (unlike firefox), i didn't expect this. The RSS reading also looks quite nice, but I don't see the point of it. In Maxthon you have a sidebar with rss feeds in it, so you can look in the sidebar and see if there are any new news items listed and click on them. But in IE7, it just opens them ina new webapge and you may as well open the main neowin webpage.
Blackboost
Guys, Is it possible to install this in Server 2K3 SP1? I have a valid key, but the error I get is: "The version of Windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install". I tried running it as Windows 2K and Windows XP compatible, but no luck so far. Is there any way to pass this check? Thanks in advance

I've still yet to install Vista/Longhorn, so maybe it'll be better inside the new OS than it was stand alone in XP SP2. I went back to IE6 after I saw and used it. It was very stable though... I will give credit for that job well done.
