(and I bet you were one of them)

Nope. In fact I didnt care about him untill the hype machine started.

O, and Big Ben CHOKED in the big games last year

Well, at least he managed to take his team into the big games ;)

Dont remember that Big Ben is also on his second year? Comparing both years, who is doing more things? Here is a clue, his first name doesnt start with "E".

Dont fool yourself with that "Ben is just lucky because he is in a good team". How many QB's haven been on excelent teams and choked? HUNDREDS! The better the team the better the QB needs to be in order to use it effectively in all their possibilities. Ben, as a rookie, choked on the big games, agreed but Ben as a rookie took his team into the big games. Or you are implying that Maddox would have done better? I dont think so ;)

The Colts-Titans game was pretty lackluster to me.

The Titans offense simply gave up after they scored that touchdown. Seeing Walter Payton's son make those repeated rushes in the last couple minutes was nice, but I think they could have made another touchdown instead of letting the time run out like they did. I don't even think they used their last timeout.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the Colts winning today, but not much of a game was played, TBH. Especially all those penalties. Those hurt the Titans, bad. And I also feel the game was badly reffed. There were so many calls that went on without a hitch. The local sportcasters were tearing into the refs any chance they got.

Nah well actually they'll be behind because of the byes Chicago and Detroit will have had. Percentage-wise they'll be behind. Still quite sad though.

If the Packers won't win tomorrow, I'm a 4-0 Bengals fan. J/K

How about them Bengals?

Ben had a better and healthy team too. Again, I'm not trying to take away from Ben except that you can't say he wins the big games because he still hasn't and neither has Eli. And just guiding your team to the big games isn't important either, it's winning them.

The hype machine DID start before the draft. And even I was skeptical. And last year I didn't like what I saw until those last two games. And I'll be critical as hell of him when he has bad games. I'm like that with my teams. When they do bad I can easily admit it and not make excuses (ie: our defense blew last week).

Roethlisberger also played FIVE more games than Eli last year (yes that IS a lot in a 16 game season) plus the extra playoff games.

Again, I never said anything about Eli being better than Roethlisberger and I'm not arguing that now. In my initial post I merely said people should stop hating on the guy. I didn't even bring up Roethlisberger. You did, saying how much better he is than Eli. And yeah, right now I'm not going to argue that with you. But like I said, I'd like to have this debate in 5 years.

I mean you want to trash a guy because there's hype around him? How's that his fault? At least give him one full season to pass judgment. Like I sadi, I will gladly eat my words if he doesn't deliver. I said I think he'll justify what the Giants gave up. If he doesn't, I'll admit I was wrong.

O, and anyone else realize what a fantasy stud Neil Rackers is becoming because of Arizona's inept offense? The guy has a booming leg and gets 4-5 chances every game

i agree in most of your points, but at least concede the point that Eli himself added a lot to that hype machine.

How did he do that? All he did was express how badly he wanted to NOT play for SD. He doesn't show an ego in interviews talking about how great he is. And to be honest, at first even I was like who the hell is he to do that. But after seeing what happened with Rivers, I can't blame him. If you want to say his taking that stand added to the hype? I think the hype was about him having to live up to the Manning name or what-not more than anything else. And he can't help that. Even when he went back to San Diego last week in all the interviews he wasan't like, "See? I told you so" or anything. He expected the boos and he understood why he'd get the boos and he played his best game to that point. If the defense figured out LT the Giants might have won, too. I think the kid's been pure class since he arrived at NY.

Woah woah, did someone just say we shouldn't make fun of Eli Manning?!  NEVER!!!

He will remain the butt of my NFL jokes forever.

Amen brother! Remember what team gave him a royal welcome to the NFL.

Iggles baby. :)

all it comes down to is this:

no unproven rookie is above the rest of the NFL. no unproven rookie should ever dictate which team drafts him, instead of the other way around. i will always hate eli for what he did, and i will never respect him because of it.

You don't repsect John Elway either?

And no I'm not saying Eli is John Elway but if that's the sole reason why you'll hate and not respect ELi then you should feel the same way about Elway. Now, if you don't like Eli just because you don't like the guy well then fine but if that's your reasoning Elway's in the same boat.

Tim Couch was the ultimate rookie, how dare you speak otherwise!

if thats the case, then yes.

i don't care WHO you are. you do not have the right to dictate to the NFL.

The 9ers named Alex Smith as the starter. His first game is against the Colts. I hope he doesn't crap his pants like Eli did after the first hit.

The Pats might be without Seymour against Atlanta. Against that team's running game on top of all the other injuries the Pats have had? Has to be a bit worrisome for any Pats fans. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2182787

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
